Digital Marketing Strategies Based on the E-Business Model

One of the most significant changes in the last decade in the business environment has been caused by the development of information technologies and the internet. The internal structure and organization of companies has changed to evolve towards a digital environment influenced by internet business models and digital marketing (DM) techniques. This chapter develops a systematic literature review with the objective of identifying the key players in the business environment with respect to the new business models and digital marketing techniques applied to them, to improve the benefits they bring to the company. The results of the research identify and define the main actors of the electronic commerce (EC) ecosystem, as well as their typologies and the main techniques of DM used in this field of research. The results of the exploratory study can be used for future research in this field and to reinforce the reference bibliography in this area of research.

Rapid developments in mobile networks and wireless information systems nowadays are researched and adopted. Innovative business models are continually performing and could become a major benchmark in the electronic business field. Understanding them and attempting to design them are important issues. The differentiation of mobile business aspects from electronic business dimensions are a set of the parameters that set mobile business services to leading positions. One of the biggest partitive attributes between electronic mobile business applications is the working options of the user. Electronic business environment constrains the user work at the stationary position. Mobile business applications allow the user work in total mobility conditions. Also new network-based options can handle many of the services features, which can add value to mobile business services. Mobile business is the result of the electronic business and information technologies evolution. For the value adding, mobile business services should take real advantage of electronic business services, with the opportunities of creating, configuring, integrating, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining new business models. A variety of mobile business service offerings that could take advantage of electronic business are presented. A treatment is suggested to add value and differentiate mobile business services, so that they continue to remain profitable.

ABSTRACT Firms are often criticized for their reluctance to embrace sustainability in their business strategies. Frugal innovation is a recent concept that represents a new way for firms to serve underserved customers in developing countries while also promoting sustainability. Based on three cases of frugal innovation at the grassroots level in India, this article demonstrates how frugal innovation presents a promising way to tackle some of today's pressing societal problems with new business models. We use a range of parameters for economic, social, and environmental sustainability to strengthen the case for frugal innovation. This article attempts to inspire scholars to consider frugal innovation further in their future research endeavors and encourage firms to integrate it into their existing business models.

This paper illustrates the differences between traditional and emerging business models in the recently identified Venture-to-Capital (V2C) area. This area refers to the stage in the development of a company when it is between Venture and Capital, ie. before the idea or the venture is eligible for Venture Capital investment. Many entities exist to assist companies in the V2C operating space. Most obvious taxonomy of the V2C players includes Incubators, Advisors, Business Angels and Classic/Seed VC. All these have different business models, including motive, contribution, incentive and revenue model. There is, however, a large number of new operatives in this field which do not quite fit this traditional taxonomy.In this study, a number of these new operatives are examined and their business models outlined. When comparing the traditional and new business models, three observations are made as conclusions: New models are hybrids of traditional models with only some new features; Contributing intellectual capital in the sense of sweat capital or business knowledge is seen as a key requisite; Trend goes towards obtaining equity interest in the target company for upside potential in the compensation. This study paves way to future research in creating new taxonomy for Venture-to-Capital operatives and delineating a best practice to the practitioners in the field.

Distance learning has evolved a lot since the moment students received materials by mail and as regular correspondence. At that time, students worked already at their own pace and concluded training according to their professional work and agenda. Today, although courses by correspondence still exist, they are being quickly replaced by distance learning. And the success of this format of education are at the basis of the emergence of different offers and new business models. The success of adoption of technology depends on several factors related with the organization where it is implemented and with the individuals involved. In this paper, the authors will present a case, the evolution of the solutions offered concerning distance learning in the school under study, the actual offers and the concerns for the future. The authors will identify the factors that enabled or constrained this evolution. They will also raise some questions that are still unanswered and will point out some clues for future research.

This article examines the security issues of digital marketing. Blockchain is a revolutionary technology that will continue to evolve due to mass digitization, which in turn is due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to analyze the benefits of using blockchain technology in digital marketing. The subject of the study are acute and topical issues of digital marketing. The hypothesis of the study is the assumption that all blocks and ever performed transactions of network users are connected to each other using complex algorithms. Attempting to change anything in one of the blocks destroys the integrity of the chain and is rejected by the computers of other participants. Presentation of the main material. The article describes the key areas of use of blockchain technology in digital marketing, describes the new business models of digital enterprises. The relations of new business models of digital economy are determined. The most viable blockchain startups in the field of digital advertising are considered. The disadvantages and advantages of blockchain technology in marketing are identified. Originality and practical significance of the study. The study emphasizes that the relationship between businesses and consumers is being reviewed as trust, which is usually passed on through mediation, is strengthened and data becomes more secure under customer control. This level of visibility allows users to interact with companies and give them access to their information, ultimately changing the dynamics of customer relationships. Conclusions and prospects for further research. Note that the choice of blockchain technology will allow companies to shift the importance of marketing activities to move towards creating a digital product and forming a new value chain for the consumer.

Internet and IT (Information technologies) among other innovative drivers push companies to update their business models, and design stands out as an emergent issue strongly connected with innovation, which, in turn, is the main resource of the modern economy. One way to achieve innovation is through artifacts that allow the development of successful information systems in organizations. Moreover, the field of health appears as a sector with many opportunities to improve services through IT and design. Therefore, e-health comes out as one of the elements that should eventually help in the evolution of business models in health systems. In this chapter, the authors present a design method of IT artifacts for e-health adapted from the method proposed by Pahl and Beitz (1995). The correctness of the design method adopted is a significant issue to generate new business models successfully or to adapt the existing ones in health systems.

In recent years, digital marketing has transformed the way in which companies communicate with their customers around the world. The increase in the use of social networks and how users communicate with companies on the Internet has given rise to new business models based on the bidirectionality of communication between companies and Internet users. Digital marketing, new business models, online advertising campaigns, and other digital strategies have gathered user opinions and comments through this new online channel. In this way, companies have started to see the digital ecosystem as not only their present, but also as their future. From this long-term perspective, companies are concerned about sustainability and the growth of their business models. There are new business models on the Internet that support social causes, new platforms aimed at supporting social and sustainable projects, and digital advertising campaigns promoting sustainability. The overarching aim of this Special Issue was to analyze the development of these new strategies as well as their influence on the sustainability of digital marketing strategies. Therefore, we aimed to analyze how companies adopt these new technologies in a digital environment that is increasingly concerned with the sustainability of business models and actions on the Internet.

In spite of rapid strides in evolving Architecture processes that can help Enterprises leverage IT for creating Value, shortcomings are widely perceived. Parts 1 and 2 of this paper suggested four improvements in the processes for structuring enterprises, defining and measuring business value, ensuring maximal returns from IT assets and architecting them for value-oriented improvements, IT enabled. After summarizing the suggestions, this paper describes how those framework and processes elements were used to create, largely through IT, explicit above average value in an enterprise. The processes are elaborated, with special emphasis on how the initiatives were prioritized. The results indicate that the enterprise gained particularly from its extensive use of computers to apply science to its business beyond common transactional purposes. Finally, the authors analyze the business environment for the ‘emerging mega-vendors’ for IT services, examine relevant elements of their SWOT and make a few recommendations for new business models of a higher scientific intensity that leverage the ORMS-based servitizing of successful IT products and offer services that create measurable business value with reliability.

This work is aimed at analyzing potential links between reverse logistics and urban logistics and describing opportunities for collaboration between both areas of research. A description of the current state-of-the-art is provided in order to highlight the main challenges faced by both disciplines. For example, regarding reverse logistics, new recovery options, marketing strategies for recovered products, and legislation issues on the return of products in specific contexts; in regards to urban logistics, long-term planning, stakeholders’ engagement, information management, efficiency, reliability and safety, and new business models are some of such key challenges. Despite the growing interest shown in both logistics areas and their relevance for companies and consumers, reverse logistics and urban logistics are two concepts that are still somewhat unknown and, above all, treated as being relatively separated. However, there exist some aspects where the two disciplines converge and that may represent opportunities for collaboration, for example, the proper treatment and management of urban waste, and the efficient management of commercial refunds and returns. In addition, other key issues, such as land use, city typology, infrastructures, and stakeholders’ engagement should be further analyzed in order to keep advancing in the description of links between both areas.

The increasing adoption of distributed energy resources (DERs) and smart grid technologies (SGTs) by end-user retail customers is changing significantly both technical and economic operations in the distribution grid. The next-generation retail electricity market will promote decentralization, efficiency, and competitiveness by accommodating existing and new agents through new business models and transactive approaches in an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). However, these changes will bring several technical challenges to be addressed in transmission and distribution systems. Considerable activities have been carried out worldwide to study the impacts of integrating DERs into the grid and in the wholesale electricity market. However, the big vision and framework of the next-generation retail market in the context of DERs is still unclear. This paper aims to present a brief review of the present retail electricity market, some recent developments, and a comprehensive vision of the next-generation retail electricity market by describing its expected characteristics, challenges, needs, and future research topics to be addressed. A framework of integrating retail and wholesale electricity markets is also presented and discussed. The proposed vision and framework particularly highlight the necessity of new business models and regulatory initiatives to establish decentralized markets for DERs at the retail level as well as advances in technology and infrastructure necessary to allow the widespread use of DERs in active and effective ways.
