The transition from learning on campus to e-learning presents many challenges. One of the key challenges is the organisational culture, which may enhance or hinder e-learning implementation. In this chapter, we describe how the organisational culture shapes e-learning use at universities. We compare a School of Business and a School of Health Sciences. It is argued that strategies for e-learning have played akey role in shaping the organisational culture, which in turn shapes how e-learning is being used. The School of Business regarded efficient administration as the key driver while the School of Health Sciences regarded collaborative learning as the key driver for e-learning. We introduce the concepts of administration-centered and learning-centered e-learning culture to pinpoint the difference identified. A challenge is to develop an e-learning culture that values both how e-learning can be used to enhance administration and learning.

The internet can be used as a way to transfer knowledge from teachers to students. Learning that utilizes the development of technology and information, namely the internet, one of which is the e-learning learning system. E-learning is a form of conventional learning that is transferred in digital format through internet technology, not only to present subject matter on the internet but also must be in accordance with the principles of learning. The e-learning learning model results in changes in learning culture in the context of learning. Learning becomes very flexible, because it can be adjusted to the availability of time from students in learning the material provided by the teacher. The teacher determines the success of students in learning, therefore teachers are required to have the ability to adapt to technological progress. Nowadays, E-learning system has been widely applied to practical teaching. It was favored by people for its characterized course arrangement and flexible learning schedule. However, the system does have some problems in the process of application such as the functions of single software are not diversified enough to satisfy the requirements in teaching completely. In order to cater more applications in the teaching process, it is necessary to integrate functions from different systems. But the difference in developing techniques and the inflexibility in design makes it difficult to implement. The major reason of these problems is the lack of fine software architecture. In this article, we build domain model and component model of E-learning system and components integration method on the basis of WebService. And we proposed an abstract framework of E-learning which could express the semantic relationship among components and realize high level reusable on the basis of informationized teaching mode. On this foundation, we form an E-learning oriented layering software architecture contain component library layer, application framework layer and application layer. Moreover, the system contains layer division multiplexing and was not built upon developing language and tools. Under the help of the software architecture, we could build characterized E-learning system flexibly like building blocks through framework selection, component assembling and replacement. In addition, we exemplify how to build concrete E-learning system on the basis of this software architecture.

The problem that arises in learning in the Covid-19 era is unilateral learning centered on teacher activities, by giving assignments. Students only work on assignments and then the work is photographed and sent via whatsapp, causing students to lack understanding of the material and reluctant to do assignments. The solution to the problems above is the use of video for learning and e-learning. This research phase begins with action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. This stage is repeated until the expected increase in learning outcomes is achieved, and does not require further improvement. The final result analysis showed that in the pre-learning cycle the percentage of classical completeness was 27.28%. In the first cycle there was an increase in classical completeness reaching 54.5%. In the second cycle there was an increase in classical completeness reaching 91%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of video for learning and e-learning during the covid-19 pandemic is able to improve student learning outcomes. Pada siklus I terjadi peningkatan ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 54,5%.

In the rapidly globalizing 21st century knowledge society, multicultural understanding plays a major role. However, what do we mean by “culture” in the educational context, what aspects have or should have an impact on our learning environments, and might some of these assumptions direct the development of our learning environments in an unintended and possibly undesirable way? New learning models that differ from traditional learning approaches might cause a type of a “learning culture shock” for some learners. What are the best ways to avoid and overcome cultural clashes in online learning? This chapter discusses the experiences of two cases from multicultural and multidisciplinary online programs for teacher education and professional development. Both of the programs are based on the principles of authentic e-learning framework described by Herrington, Reeves, and Oliver (2010). The aim of the study was to find out how learners with different cultural backgrounds experience the authentic e-learning process, as well as to find out what impact the authentic e-learning model has on the development of the learning culture.
