Assessment may be defined as “any method used to better understand the current knowledge that a student possesses.” (Dietel and Knuth, 1991). Assessment can be as simple as a teacher’s subjective judgment of student performance or as complex as a standardized achievement test. The concept of “current knowledge” implies that what a student knows is always changing and therefore teachers are to make assessments about their students’ achievements repeatedly throughout the school year. The elements of technology-based materials and lessons introduced in this book have identical reasons for undergoing the scrutiny of formal evaluation as any other form of valid classroom assessment. The purposes of assessment are many, depending in large measure on the initiators of the evaluation. Administrators use assessment to set standards and policies, direct resources, establish goals, and monitor the quality of education. Learners gauge their progress, assess strengths and weaknesses, measure school accountability, and make informed educational and personal career decisions.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to history's most significant educational disruption, affecting nearly 1.6 billion students in more than 190 countries and all continents. Closures of schools and other learning spaces have impacted 94 per cent of the world's student population, up to 99 per cent in low and lower-middle-income countries (UESCO CONCEPT, 2020). Like all countries in the world, Armenia has not escaped the damage caused by the pandemia. The impetus for the implementation of such a program has come from the initiative of the UNESCO's Associated Schools Network (ASPnet), which aims to raise awareness in the current COVID_19 epidemic and to study the education processes and conditions, quality of education, as well as advantages and disadvantages of distance learning in the general education system. This study aimed to contribute to achieving the 4th goal of sustainable development in the general education system in pandemic conditions. During the program, students were introduced to the difficulties and benefits of hybrid and distance learning, the importance of participation, the opportunity to self-learn, and the need for empathy and mutual assistance during COVID-19. UNESCO Associated and UNESCO Partner schools have been selected for participation in the research. These schools have actively participated in the previous projects implemented by UNESCO and have had involvement in different national and international projects. The project results showed that learning is more effective with the parallel introduction of distance and face-to-face (the traditional style) learning. Hybrid learning has ensured high student performance by solving modern organizational problems and using modern information technologies.

Educational data like students performance is very important to study and analyze and to improve the quality of education. The study concerned to data mining techniques with educational data is known as Educational Data Mining (EDM). This study finds knowledge and interesting patterns in educational organization. Students performance are the subject mainly concerned to find the qualitative model based on student’s personal and social factors then classify and predict the student performance. Proper counseling to underperforming students can reduce dropout ratio and help them to continue their studies.

The article is dedicated to the methodological and technological issues of building information systems for tracking the realization of graduating students. This is an important issue for the field of higher education, as it has a direct bearing on the quality of the higher education provided. The higher the quality of education is, the easier and more successful the realization of the students can be. In this way, the results of the student performance survey can be used as an indicator for the introduction of corrective policies. Based on a literature research, the study proposes a specially developed methodology consisting of five methods. Each of them is described, and from a software point of view the implementation of the last of them is the most complex. An indicative framework of three main stages and tasks in them is proposed, which allow the realization of the designed information system. In the empirical part of the research special attention is paid to the software implementation of the most complex of the proposed methods, and also the results of its application are presented. In conclusion, opportunities for improvement and development of the methodology are proposed.

Abstract Objective Education quality may be related to disparities in late-life cognition in the U.S. We examined whether years of education and indicators of childhood quality of education (QOE) are associated with cognitive decline and cognitive impairment (CI) in older Puerto Ricans. Method Participants included 3,883 community-dwelling older adults aged 60+ years from the Puerto Rican Elderly: Health Conditions Study without CI at baseline. A composite of QOE included school year length, student-teacher ratio, attendance, and literacy levels for each municipality from Census and education reports (1926–1945). Cognitive functioning was measured by the minimental Cabán (MMC) at baseline and four-year follow-up. CI was assigned when MMC score was < 11 points. Covariate-adjusted logistic and linear regression models were used to examine incident CI and decline, respectively. Results Participants reported 8 years of education on average. Years of education (OR = 0.84; 95% CI = 0.79, 0.90; p = < .0001) was associated with a lower risk of incident CI but QOE was not (p = .37). In covariate-adjusted models, QOE (F(8, 2482) = 96.87, p < .05, R2 = .24) was significantly associated with cognitive decline. However, when years of education was added to the model, QOE was no longer statistically significant (p = .34). Conclusions This study provides further evidence that years of education and QOE are important factors for understanding risk of negative cognitive outcomes in older age, and that for this older Puerto Rican sample, years of education and literacy largely explained associations between QOE and late-life cognition.

This study aims to explore school strategic planning, analyze, and plan strategic planning in improving the quality of education at SDN Jetis Bantul. Researchers used descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study were in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation. This study's subjects were the principal, members of the principal's work deliberation, supervisors, teachers, and the school committee. Data analysis techniques used are data, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and levers. The results show that: (1) strategic planning is carried out by making an annual work plan following the vision, mission and goals of the school formulated at the beginning of the school year, forming a school development team, implementing school planning by educational procedures, developing development and coaching results achieving goals. (2) implementing school management strategies to diagnose systematically, plan, design and compile documents, establish policies, motivate educators and education personnel, allocate human resources, and develop a supportive strategic culture. (3) The evaluation of the school management strategy is carried out by analyzing its suitability with the strategic plan; the evaluation results used to assess a program, improvements, or colours. Supporting strategic planning factors are excellent support from students, teachers, supervisors, committees, student guardians and the school environment. The obstacle encountered in school strategic planning is the problem of the improper formulation. The school collaborates with the school committee and student guardians to solve these inhibiting factors to overcome this.
