The study described in this chapter is relates to learning hypothesis testing among students from engineering degree using technology and work project method. This project involved 31 students from the Informatics Engineering Degree responding to a small self-assessment survey applied in the four phases of project implementation. Beyond this, the authors collected data about the project reports and from a questionnaire related with students' perceptions about of the developed project. These last two types of data were obtained after the completion of the project work. Analysis highlighted that the most of students appreciated a lot the methodology adopted in the learning of hypothesis tests. However, some students reveal that they experienced some difficulties in the use of R software and in some dimensions of statistical reasoning, especially in the case of knowledge of statistics in project context.

Hypothesis testing has been pointed out as one of the statistical topics in which students present more misconceptions. In this article, an approach based on the divide-and-conquer methodology is proposed to facilitate its learning. The proposed strategy is designed to sequentially explain and evaluate the different concepts involved in hypothesis testing, ensuring that a new concept is not presented until the previous one has been fully assimilated. The proposed approach, which contains several gamification elements (i.e., points or a leader-board), is implemented into an application via a modern game engine. The usefulness of the proposed approach was assessed in an experiment in which 89 first-year students enrolled in the Statistics course within the Industrial Engineering degree participated. Based on the results of a test aimed at evaluating the acquired knowledge, it was observed that students who used the developed application based on the proposed approach obtained statistically significant higher scores than those that attended a traditional class (p-value < 0.001), regardless of whether they used the learning tool before or after the traditional class. In addition, the responses provided by the students who participated in the study to a test of satisfaction showed their high satisfaction with the application and their interest in the promotion of these tools. However, despite the good results, they also considered that these learning tools should be considered as a complement to the master class rather than a replacement.

The author of the article pays special attention to the project method that has great potential for the formation of a certain system of intellectual skills and practical skills in schoolchildren, which contribute to the mastery of the activity component of the education content. It is outlined that the use of the project method in working with elementary schoolchildren implies four stages: organizational and preparatory, technological, generalizing, reflexive. It is also emphasized that the specificity of the implementation of each stage, due to the age characteristics of the schoolchildren, involves leadership in the joint search for the problem and the choice of ways to solve it; ensuring that every child is included in the planning and performance criteria for product development, consistent implementation and adequate evaluation; organization of reflexive work on understanding the process and results of individual and group productive and creative activities at organizational, preparatory, technological and generalizing stages; management of the project product design and evaluation processes. Methods. On the example of the creative project “Traditional festive treats in popular culture”, practical recommendations for organizing the project work of elementary schoolchildren as a mental prediction of what will then be created in the form of a project product, independent planning and time-fixed achievement of the goal are presented. Results. It was concluded that in elementary school age, project activities are a way of pedagogically organized development of the surrounding reality by the child, therefore its success is largely determined by the level of methodological preparation of the teacher.

Introduction: Maturation is a biological phenomenon inherent to the human being that acts alongside environmental factors in its relationship with the development of children and adolescents. Objective: To analyse the motor skills during maturational stages of female adolescents. Methods: This study included 133 female adolescents aged between 10 and 17 years from federal schools in the city of Rio Branco, State of Acre, Brazil. Sexual maturation was evaluated using Tanner’s self-assessment. Motor skills were assessed using the following tests: strength (Jump Test); coordination (Burpee Test); balance (Flamingo Test); flexibility (Sit and Reach Test); agility (Shuttle Run Test). The data were analysed using R software through analysis of variance. The significance level was fixed at 5%.Result: No significant statistical results were found for strength, agility, balance and flexibility, evidencing that maturational advances did not influence these skills. In the coordination variable, significant results were obtained. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that maturational advancement in adolescents does not influence strength, agility, balance or flexibility. However, it does influence coordination, presenting better performance at stage P2.

Effective teamwork is one of the Engineering Council of South Africa’s (ECSA) exit-level outcomes. To achieve this outcome, one has to learn specific discourses and behaviours related to teamwork. Professional Orientation is a first-year engineering module offered in an extended engineering degree programme at a residential university in South Africa. This module assists students in developing a ‘teamwork discourse’, using engineering-based projects that follow the CDIO framework. In 2020, these projects transitioned fully to a virtual environment due to Covid-19 restrictions. The iPeer Learning Management System tool for peer- and self-assessment was used in this research to investigate whether first-year students were able to apply the teamwork discourses taught to them when completing the projects online. A quantitative analysis of the iPeer results reflected that while 54% of the students remained consistent in the two projects, 16% showed an improvement, and 30% showed a decrease. The reasons for these results could be varied. Thus, a qualitative analysis of the students’ comments for increased and decreased marks was also conducted to assess how the relevant teamwork discourses were applied and to what extent. These findings confirmed that teamwork discourses could effectively be applied by a smaller percentage of first-year students.

The article discusses the specifics of applying project method to the educational process. The analysis of scientific materials that concern themselves with applying project method is carried out, their main principles are highlighted, and a project model is proposed. Studies conducted in the field of project method were used as materials for this work. During the research, methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, deduction and induction were used. The research hypothesis is based on the assumption that applying project method to the training process of future music teachers will help students with improving their professional competencies, and increase the motivation to learn. The study proved that applying project method to the training process of educating future music teachers allows for better pedagogical training, motivating students to work more actively, display creativity, and identity. The project method allows students to receive skills of independent and group work, short and long-term planning, and self-assessment. General positive characteristics of applying project method to the training process of educating future music teachers proves the need to adopt this method in higher education institutions. This paper is intended for teachers and students who will implement creative projects while receiving music education.

Corona Virus Desease impacts all sectors and all levels of society without exception. This also has an impact on State revenues. As we know, the government enforces a Self Assessment System in its tax collection. The weakness of the self assessment system is that the taxpayer calculates, pays and reports taxes, in practice it is difficult to run as expected or even misused. The purpose of this study is to prove empirically that Tri Kaya Parisudha as a moderator of the influence of the Self Assessment System on the compliance of individual taxpayers who carry out business activities and independent work in Bali Province. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire. The analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing using moderate regression analysis techniques. The conclusion of this study is that Tri Kaya parisudha does not moderate the effect of the implementation of self-assessment system on taxpayer compliance. Thinking and doing good during a pandemic cannot be used as a reference to make taxpayers obey. The difficulty of the community's economy can be a contributing factor. They tend to fulfill their basic needs first, then later they will be used to fulfill their tax obligations
