All enterprise show the life body’s behavior and its characteristic. A normal enterprise will experience a birth growth, mature, decline and death period. the policy–making characteristic which every enterprise displays in the life cycle’s different stage hare some general character actually, understanding that which life cycle stage is now in, thus the correct decision–making reprises its own condition , lengthens its own life as long as possible. The enterprise is at the different stage of life cycle, its resources disposition shape is different, and it displays different behavior and policy–making characteristic. In business life cycle’s different stage determines different decision–making and management key and strategy.

This literature-grounded research contributes to a deeper understanding of modularization as a system life cycle management strategy, by providing a comprehensive view of its key barriers, drivers, possible mechanisms of implementation and impact. This comprehensive view, arranged into a decision-making–driven ontology, enables a decision maker to systematically identify modularization implementation opportunities in different industrial and service domains. The proposed ontology transforms modularization into a fully operationalizable strategy and contributes to a paradigm shift in the understanding of modularization, from a pure design option (i.e. modularity) to a fully strategic choice that, by nature, impacts on many of the system’s life cycle phases and involves a number of stakeholders.

Innovation Management and an Innovative Ideas SystemInnovation management is one of the most important tasks for managers in order to make their organizations successful and efficient. A part of this ranges from innovative employee ideas for small everyday improvements up to innovations that bring enormous savings. The survey tries to determine which factors influence the number of innovative ideas and to propose methods for improvements in this area. The basic research method used was a questionnaire, which helped us gather data and the basic method used for data processing was statistical analysis. First, we established that there is a progressive correlation between the number of innovative ideas submitted in the past and the number of anticipated innovative ideas in the future. Second, we established that the following three factors have an impact on innovation and creativity: (1) work and education; (2) working and living conditions; and (3) rewards and payment. Finally, we have established that there is a correlation between satisfaction with the rewards and payment factor and the current life-cycle stage of organization. To summarize, the level of innovation and creativity of employees is influenced by their overall satisfaction in an organization.

Regional eco-efficiency is regarded as a relative concept. It could be presented the relative eco-efficiency with the change of economy and environment. That means it could not the optimal compared with the predicted optimum in the future. It would be a basis of policy decision making of local governments according to identify the life cycle stage of current regional eco-efficiency. As a beneficial supplement of the eco-efficiency measurement, this paper set up a DEA Neural Network recognition model which can effectively analyze and identify the current relative eco-efficiency of a regional. The empirical research shows that the phenomenon of forecasted value “floating upon” has been restrained effectively. It is an obvious advantage that this method is showed as a method of fast convergence, accurate identification, extensive application and promotion value in practice.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate R&D investments in family firms. Design/methodology/approach The socio-emotional wealth (SEW) perspective, considered as a dominant paradigm in the family business field, is the theoretical framework used to report different behaviors ascertained within family firms. This paper focuses on two dimensions of the SEW, namely, family control and influence and family identity. A suspected moderating role played by the firm’s life cycle stage on the dimensions is also investigated using panel data. To analyze the results, this paper uses the Smart PLS software on secondary data collected for 76 German family firms. Findings The empirical results reveal a negative influence of SEW on R&D investments. The prominent effect of the family control and influence dimension on R&D is higher in the first part of a firm life cycle. Research limitations/implications The analysis of this study is subject to several caveats. First, to measure the R&D investment, this paper used R&D intensity computed as the total annual R&D expenses by total sales. Except for the fact that the use of proxies received several criticizes from scholars (Berrone et al., 2012) claiming how they do not directly relate to the essence of the dimensions measured. Second, this paper used two out of five FIBER dimensions only in the study. This paper took the right direction, but still, the complexity of SEW may not be fully captured following this approach (Berrone et al., 2012). Originality/value This study could be considered as an important extension of prior research investigating R&D in family firms. The authors provide a valid empirical construct, the FIBER scale, to capture non-monotonic behaviors in family firms and an enlargement of the family firms and innovation management field of research.

Sustainable design of infrastructures has become a major matter of study since the recent establishment of the Agenda 2030. This paper provides a systematic literature review on the use of multi-criteria decision making techniques used so far for the sustainable design of bridges. Special attention is put as well on how the reviewed studies assess the sustainable performance of bridge designs along their life cycle from the economic, the environmental and the social perspective. Although SAW and AHP are recurrently used in the sustainable assessment of bridges, the analysis of the most recent articles show that the application of TOPSIS and PROMETHEE techniques are gaining increasing relevance for such purpose. Most of the studies focus on the research of the construction and the maintenance stage of bridges. However, a need for further analysis is identified when it comes to the assessment of the impacts resulting from the End of Life cycle stage of bridges from a sustainable point of view. The use of intuitionistic and neutrosophic logic have been detected as emerging alternatives to the fuzzy approach of decision making problems.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the reading habits levels and making the correct decision styles of basketball, handball, volleyball, and football coaches and referees in terms of some variables, the research was carried out with the general survey model, one of the quantitative research designs, the active coaches and referees of basketball, football, volleyball, and handball in İzmir, Denizli and Uşak provinces constituted the universe of the study, the sample of the study, on the other hand, consisted of 98 participants, 52 of whom were coaches and 46 were referees, determined by the simple random sampling method, one sample t-test at a 0.05 significance level was conducted to determine whether the sample represented the universe equally and homogeneously. Melbourne decision making scale I-II, and book reading habits scale were used to collect data in the study. Since the data are suitable for normal distribution, the t-test in comparing the pairwise means; parametric tests such as one-way ANOVA tests were used at 0.05 significance level in comparing the mean scores of more than two groups. In terms of education levels, it has been observed that female coaches and referees studying at faculties of sports sciences have higher levels of reading habit, love of reading, and being influenced by books. In addition, it was determined that individuals who trust and respect the decisions of their families have higher reading habits and correct decision-making styles and do not panic during the decision-making process.
