To solve technical problems of current roller conveyor, such as big volume, complex structure and heavy maintenance workload, a new roller conveyor has been researched by adopting advanced technology of three-phase A.C linear motor. It has no intermediate transmission units that exist in the conventional roller conveyor, and is a new form structure of the conveyor. The device consists mainly of rollers and linear motors. The roller serves as driving and load-bearing mechanism, and as the rotor of linear motor, too. In the process of operation, with rollers served as the carriers, the friction force between rollers and objects transmits the motion consummately to achieve the goal of transportation. This new conveyor can completely replace the current various types of roller conveyor with such features as simple structure, low failure rate and cost.

Abstract Background The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia is expanding the country’s telemedicine services by using advanced technology in health services. In doing so, an e-health application (app), Seha, was introduced in 2018 that allows individuals to have face-to-face visual medical consultations with their doctors on their smartphones. Objective This study evaluated the effectiveness of the app in improving healthcare delivery by ensuring patient satisfaction with the care given, increasing access to care, and improving efficiency in the healthcare system. Methods A cross-sectional study design was used to assess the perceptions of users of the Seha app and non-users who continued with traditional health services. The data were collected using an online survey via Google Forms between June 2020 and September 2020. Independent t tests and chi-square (χ2) tests were conducted to answer the research questions. Results There was a significant difference between users and non-users in terms of ease of access to health services (t =  − 9.38, p < 0.05), with app users having a higher mean score (4.19 ± 0.91) than non-users (3.41 ± 1.00); satisfaction with health services (t =  − 6.33, p < 0.05), with users having a higher mean score (3.96 ± 0.91) than non-users (3.45 ± 0.94); and efficiency (only one visit needed for treatment) (t =  − 3.20, p < 0.05), with users having a higher mean score (3.71 ± 0.93) than non-users (3.45 ± 0.93). There were significant associations between the use of the Seha app and age (χ2 = 8.79, p < 0.05), gender (χ2 = 22.19, p < 0.05), region (χ2 = 19.74, p < 0.05), and occupation (χ2 = 22.05, p < 0.05). There were significant relationships between the three items (on access, satisfaction, and efficiency) and experiencing technical issues (t = 4.47, t = 8.11, and t = 3.24, respectively, p < 0.05), with users who faced technical problems having significantly lower mean scores for all three items. Conclusion This study provided evidence that the Seha app improved the delivery of healthcare in Saudi Arabia. Users of the app had a better health experience in terms of their perceived ease of access to healthcare services; their satisfaction with healthcare services; and the efficiency of the system, measured by the number of required doctor visits. Other factors that appeared to influence the use of the app included age, gender, usual source of care, and technical difficulties.

abstract Strigolactones (SLs) are a new class of phytohormones that also act as germination stimulants for root parasitic plants, such as Striga spp., and as branching factors for symbiotic arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Sources for natural SLs are very limited. Hence, efficient and simple SL analogs are needed for elucidating SL-related biological processes as well as for agricultural applications. Based on the structure of the non-canonical SL methyl carlactonoate, we developed a new, easy to synthesize series of analogs, termed methyl phenlactonoates (MPs), evaluated their efficacy in exerting different SL functions, and determined their affinity for SL receptors from rice and Striga hermonthica. Most of the MPs showed considerable activity in regulating plant architecture, triggering leaf senescence, and inducing parasitic seed germination. Moreover, some MPs outperformed GR24, a widely used SL analog with a complex structure, in exerting particular SL functions, such as modulating Arabidopsis roots architecture and inhibiting rice tillering. Thus, MPs will help in elucidating the functions of SLs and are promising candidates for agricultural applications. Moreover, MPs demonstrate that slight structural modifications clearly impact the efficiency in exerting particular SL functions, indicating that structural diversity of natural SLs may mirror a functional specificity.

A numerical procedure for the static analysis of arch-supported tensile structures with block and tackle suspension system is presented. The procedure, based on dynamic relaxation, is suitable for a structural analysis both in the prestressing process and in a final state under external loads. The friction between the pulley and its shaft is also taken into account in the analysis. After the introduction of the developed procedure, two structures are presented as examples. The analysis of a very simple structure validates the procedure, then the analysis of a more complex structure, an arch-supported cable net roof illustrates the stability and efficiency of the procedure.

Objective: Ironless, permanent magnet, synchronous linear (IPMSL) motors are applied widely in precision servo control for the nonexistence of cogging forces and comparatively small fluctuations in thrust and speed. Method: The air and water cooling structures are designed by assuming the heat loss in the motor operations is the source for the distribution of the temperature field in the analysis under natural cooling. Conclusion: The temperature fields of the linear motor under the two cooling modes are compared and analyzed, which helps monitor the temperature of linear motors during development and operations.

Against defects of lacking consideration of air absorption characteristics to the high frequency signal in Schroeder reverberation model, and the more complex structure in Moorer reverberation model, use equiripple Chebyshev approximation criterion to design 4 FIR comb filter with low-pass characteristics and make the FIR filters in parallel, to get a pure parallel reverberation model. This reverberation model considers the absorption characteristics of air to the high-frequency signal, and has a more simple structure.

We present an infinite family of formulas with reversal whose avoidability index is bounded between [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], and we show that several members of the family have avoidability index [Formula: see text]. This family is particularly interesting due to its size and the simple structure of its members. For each [Formula: see text] there are several previously known avoidable formulas (without reversal) of avoidability index [Formula: see text] but they are small in number and they all have rather complex structure.

Linear Motors have been used more and more widely in high precision and high-speed linear motion for CNC machine tools, but uniform testing standards and methods for linear motor performance have not been established in China. Based on the virtual instrument software platform by means of computer technology, research and development of the test platform for synthetic performance parameters of linear motors can realize the rapid and accurate measurement, automatic storage and processing of linear-motor output, currents, positions, temperatures and other performance parameters. , Meanwhile, the platform can also provide the technical direction for design or improvement of linear motors, and technically support the formulation of related standards. Experiments showed that the test platform for synthetic performance parameters of linear motors can achieve high precision and automatic measurement to meet the testing requirements for synthetic performance of linear motors.

Rope-less hoist system driven by permanent magnet linear synchronous motor has the advantages of simple structure, small volume, high force, unlimited hoisting height and speed. So, it is attracting more attention, increasingly becoming a research hot and difficult in the vertical hoist field. In this paper, a design scheme of direct driving high-speed elevator is proposed according to the key technical problems of rope-less hoist system driven by PMLSM, and then a small-sized home elevator prototype is built. Experimental results show the safe and stable operation performance of the experimental device, which offers the reference for the further research and the development and application of PMLSM rope-less hoist system.
