After the three-dimensional solid modeling of the SG135 automobile gearbox, finite element analysis models of static, transient and harmonic response load are built based on correlation theory. On the basis of ADAMS dynamic simulation of different gearbox gears, transient load of the gearbox casing at different working gears is found out. With frequency response characteristic of gearbox casing analyzed at typical working conditions of first gear and reverse gear, the evaluation of some factors such as strength and stiffness are given out, which provides theory basis for further improvement of gearbox casing structure and strengthening weak links. Based on harmonic response analysis, the impact on gearbox casing structural vibration by harmonic excitation of the engine is imitated, and the match relation of frequency response between the gearbox and the engine is analyzed. Improvements about engine operational limits matching and gearbox structural design are proposed.

Establish the finite element model for high precision grinding machine which takes joint surface into consideration and then carrys out the static and dynamic analysis of the grinder. After the static analysis, modal analysis and harmonic response analysis, the displacement deformation, stress, natural frequency and vibration mode could be found, which also helps find the weak links out. The improvement scheme which aims to increase the stiffness and precision of the whole machine has proposed to efficiently optimize the grinder. And the first natural frequency of the optimized grinder has increased by 68.19%.

The virtual prototype is a computer simulation model of the physical product that can be analyzed like a real machine. This paper studies the helical milling unit based on the virtual machine tool. The helical milling unit is first designed according to the kinematics of the helical milling. The main parts of the equipment include rotating mechanism, orbital agency and radial offset organization. Based on the feasibility analysis of the structure, the three-dimensional geometrical model is built in the Solidworks software. The key parts in the model are separated from the device and introduced into the finite element analysis (FEA) software, according to the cutting loads tested from experiment, static and dynamic modal analysis and harmonic response analysis are carried out for the key parts of this device. The results show that the static and dynamic stiffness can meet design requirement.

Abstract A finite element formulation to solve the dynamic behavior of high-speed Shinkansen cars, rail, and bridge is given. A mechanical model to express the interaction between wheel and rail is described, in which the impact of the rail on the flange of wheel is also considered. The bridge is modeled by using various finite elements such as shell, beam, solid, spring, and mass. The equations of motions of bridge and Shinkansen cars are solved under the constitutive and constraint equations to express the interaction between rail and wheel. Numerical method based on a modal transformation to get the dynamic response effectively is discussed. A finite element program for the dynamic response analysis of Shinkansen cars, rail, and bridge at the high-speed running has been developed. Numerical examples are also demonstrated.

This paper presents a new design procedure for production of a transtibial prosthesis bed stump by three-dimensional (3D) printing with topological optimization. The suggested procedure combines the medical perspective with finite element analysis and facilitates regaining the symmetry in patients with transtibial prosthesis, which leads to life improvement. The particular focus of the study is the weight reduction of the lower part of the bed stump, while taking into account its stiffness and load-bearing capacity. The first part of the work deals with the analysis of the subject geometry of the bed stump, which is usually oversized in terms of the weight and stiffness that are necessary for the current application. In the second part, an analysis of walking biomechanics with a focus on the impact and rebound phases is presented. Based on the obtained information, a spatial model of the lower part of the bed stump is proposed in the third phase, in which the finite element method is described. In the fourth part, the topological optimization method is used for reducing the structure weight. In the last part, the results of the designed model are analyzed. Finally, the recommendations for the settings of the method are presented. The work is based on the practical industry requirements, and the obtained results will be reflected in the design of new types of transtibial prosthesis.

This article treats the pile driving as multi-body dynamic contacts. By using the penalty function method and three-dimensional model of finite-element method, the dynamic process of pile driving is acquired and a method for choosing the cushion material of the hydraulic pile hammer to improve driving efficiency is proposed. The process of pile driving in the real situation of an industrial experiment is simulated. The results of stress on test point are consistent with the test point. By analysing the stress distributed along the direction of pile radius and pile axis, the rule of the stress distribution on the pile is concluded. The rule for cushion material choice is obtained by comparing the influence for the impact stress with different elastic modulus ratio of the hammer cushion to the pile and the pile cushion to the pile.

In the condition of alternating impact ,the nut-supports subassembly is analyzed according to uncertainty of design parameters. Firstly, a three-dimensional (3-D) finite element (FE) model of the nut-supports subassembly is built and is meshed, and the constraints and loads are imposed.Secondly, the model of nut-supports was assembled using the software ANSYS to understand the stress distribution and various parts of the deformation of the nut-supports and its weak links in the harmonic forces. Finally, socket head cap screw has not enough pre-load in the condition of alternating impact and will be simplified. It is analyzed and checked whether it is cut or not; which provides the reference data for design and optimization of the wave maker.

Oblique impact of a slider with a rotating disk in hard disk drives was analyzed using the finite element method. A three dimensional, thermomechanical, impact model was developed to study the mechanical and thermal response during the impact of a spherical slider corner with the disk. The model was validated by comparing finite element results with analytical solutions for homogeneous glass disk under simple conditions. Impact penetration, stress and incurred flash temperature were obtained for various normal impact velocities.

The aim of the article is to present the method for modeling transformer winding inductance, taking into account the complex magnetic permeability and equivalent electric conductivity of the magnetic core. In the first stage of the research, a physical model of a 24-turn coil wound on the distribution transformer core was prepared. The Frequency Response Analysis (FRA) measurements of the coil were taken; then, the inductance of the coil as a function of frequency was calculated from the received frequency response curves. In the second stage, two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) computer models of the coil based on the finite element method (FEM) were established. In order to obtain the equivalent inductance characteristics of the winding modeled in 2D and 3D in a wide frequency range, the equality of the reluctance of the limbs and yokes in both models was assured. In the next stage of the research, utilization of the equivalent properties for the laminated magnetic material simulations was proposed. This outcome can be used to calculate the frequency response of the winding of the power transformer. The other obtained result is the method for modeling the resonance slope, which is visible on the inductance curve received from the FRA measurement.
