Nowadays, fire forces should incorporate the idea of environmental protection and green fire to the rescue action. Every year fire forces dispose of many chemical fire, in the disposal process the surrounding ecological environment should be fully considered , especially the impact on the local water area after the disposition. At present the effect of pollutants on the environment is often neglected, so the fire rescue operations of water pollution prevention is a appreciable problem, we should think and study the countermeasures of water pollution accident for chemical industry fire.

Abstract. Land degradation has increasingly been recognised as a serious environmental problem throughout the whole world. Six major threats may be identified that place soil fertility at risk, namely, soil erosion, loss of organic matter, soil biodiversity, soil compaction, soil salinity, and soil pollution. Several of those risks could be effectively identified, analysed, visualised and consequently limited by approaches originating from the geospatial domain.

The China – European Union research and innovation project “SIEUSOIL” (SIno-EU Soil Observatory for Intelligent Land Use Management), funded between 2019 and 2022, as well as the European Big Data flagship research and innovation project “DataBio” (Data-Driven Bioeconomy), funded between 2017 and 2019, aim at the above mentioned challenges of land degradation from innovative geospatial perspectives.

Such innovative approaches include local geological, geomorphological, climate, yield maps as well as global soil maps provided commonly by the European Commission (Directorate General Joint Research Centre) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Among the data inputs there are farm machinery tracking and interpreted satellite images. The second level of activities consists of selected standards and specification of ontologies for the integration and sharing of soil related data, facilitating their reuse and understanding. The resulting ontology and other selected models provide the basis for the integration, publication, and querying of the source datasets using Linked data as a federated layer. Besides offering an integrated view of the datasets, this layer also enables new insights through the discovery of links.

From the cartographic perspective, several visualization techniques are deployed; from static maps to interactive visualisations. The main focus of visualization techniques is therefore given to the interactivity through utilizing the concept of Multiple Coordinated Views (also known as visual analytics tools) and dynamic queries to emphasize the impact of changes of various phenomena in space and time. For instance, see Figure 1 on monitoring of machinery fleet movement and especially its spatiotemporal changes that can bring new insights into the consequences of human decisions from many areas. Economic reasons are related to economic evidence for a farmer, including fuel consumption, efficiency of trajectory, etc. to revenue authority or subsidies management. On the other hand, ecologic motivations aim to decrease of environmental burden caused e.g. by high CO2 emissions due to a lack of movement optimisation, water pollution by nitrogen due to excessive fertilisation, etc.

The outcomes of the above mentioned research are intended as a feedback to (inter)national policies within the environmental domain including the Montreal Protocol (on substances that deplete the Ozone Layer), European Common Agricultural Policy, Nitrates Directive, Air Quality Framework Directive, Water Framework Directive, the Chinese Water Pollution Prevention Law, etc.

A good ecological environment is of great significance to improve happiness index and satisfaction of personal life. By analyzing the impact of society interaction on individual environmental protection behavior, it is found that how to improve individual environmental protection behavior plays an important role in building a green ecological environment. This study used the data of CGSS survey conducted by Renmin University of China in 2013 and employed SPSS statistical analysis to determine the influencing factors. Therefore, the higher an individual’s income level is, the more willing the individual is to take environmental protection behavior. The conclusion can be used for reference for policy formulation and environmental improvement in China.

Rural urbanization is a process of population agglomeration catalyzed by industrialization. At present, China’s urbanization process is accelerating against the backdrop of rapid social development. However, in some areas, economic development is emphasized, while the protection of the ecological environment is neglected, leading to the increasingly obvious contradiction between urbanization and rural ecological environment and is not conducive to economic development. In this paper, the development trend of China’s rural urbanization, the current situation of environmental pollution, and the progress of important environmental treatment projects are analyzed. Accordingly, the main problems in rural environmental protection and the impact of urbanization are explored. The problems led by industrial and domestic pollutants have been amplified by urbanization, while the improved connection between urban and rural areas will benefit the improvement of environmental infrastructure in rural areas. The government-led projects of rural water improvement, sanitary toilet penetration, methane gas production, and solar water heater have made great progress during the past two decades. Based on these understandings, we put forward feasible countermeasures to implement rural ecological environment protection during the process of urbanization to promote the benign development of rural urbanization. Our results will be helpful in providing some useful references for environmental protection in rural areas and promoting the coordinated development of the economy and environment during the process of urbanization in China.

ABSTRACT This paper outlines the harmful effects on marine environments of nonpetroleum and petroleum oil spills. The current regulatory regime, as applied by U.S. government agencies concerned with pollution prevention and response, has evolved over the course of a half century through legislative and administrative actions. Congress has been active in setting the stage by passing numerous federal statutes dealing with water pollution. Executive agencies such as the Coast Guard, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Department of Transportation's Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) have also acted in this area, promulgating regulations to implement the congressional mandates. This paper focuses on the development of the current regulatory regime by examining water pollution statutes passed by Congress since 1924. It then examines how the Coast Guard, the EPA, and RSPA have interpreted their mandates, especially as they relate to nonpetroleum oils under water pollution prevention statutes in various implementing regulations. This paper is based on a paper prepared by the authors for the Coast Guard's Chief of Marine Safety and Environmental Protection.

Abstract Underground mining activity has existed for more than 100 years in Nansi lake. Coal mining not only plays a supporting role in local social and economic development but also has a significant impact on the ecological environment in the region. Landsat series remote sensing data (1988~2019) are used to research the impact of coal mining on the ecological environment in Nansi lake. Then Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier is applied to extract the water area of the upstream lake from 1988 to 2019, and ecological environment and spatiotemporal variation characteristics are analyzed by Remote Sensing Ecology Index (RSEI). The results illustrate that the water area change is associated with annual precipitation. Compared with 2009, the ecological quality of the lake is worse in 2019, and then the reason for this change is due to large-scale underground mining. Therefore, the coal mines from the natural reserve may be closed or limited to the mining boundary for protecting the lake's ecological environment.
