The innovative hybrid impact hydroforming (IHF) technology is a kind of high energy forming technique which can be used for forming complex parts with small features, such as convex tables, bars etc. which are widely employed in automotive and aircraft industries. The impact hydroforming technology means the most features are formed by hydroforming and the small features are rapidly reshaped by high intensity impact energy in a very short time after the traditional hydroforming. The impact pressure rises to the peak in 10ms which belongs to dynamic loading. The present work investigates IHF using a numerical /experimental approach. Finite element simulations using MSC.Patran were carried out changing the geometrical shape of liquid hammer.. Using this shock wave loading condition we did forming experiments. During forming process, stress distribution in the blank is comparatively better as compared with traditional methods so possibility of fracture is reduced. Inertia is also an important factor which affects control quality. Therefore, the research is very useful for improving forming quality of complicated products. It will be widely applied in automotive and aircraft industries.

The nonverbal display of confidence is strongly associated with leadership and power. However, its importance for the persuasiveness of campaign messages has not been explored. How important is showing confidence for a political candidate’s ratings? How does confidence condition the effect of the quality of a candidate’s arguments? This article addresses these questions using an innovative experimental approach that makes it possible to better isolate the impact of the candidate’s nonverbal confidence and the quality of his message. While both of these aspects influence voters’ perceptions of the candidate’s electability and qualifications, the nonverbal dimension matters more when it comes to electability. This research contributes to the study of nonverbal communication in elections by expanding the focus of inquiry beyond the effect of pure emotions (happiness or anger) and facial traits.

Development of an innovative economy gives rise to the need to form a highly competent workforce capable of creating and implementing innovations in a short time. This also applies to agriculture as a sector of the economy that ensures the food security of the regions and the country as a whole. The level and quality of the labor force is considered as the most important resource in the activities and development of the agro-industrial complex. A methodical approach to a systematic study of the use of staffing in agriculture in the region is proposed, the difference of which is the use of econometric modeling to assess the impact on the target indicator of the components of staff by areas of activity and level of qualifications. The application of the approach is shown on the example of the sector of agricultural organizations of municipal districts of the Orenburg region.

AbstractThe intermittency of solar power production is dependent on the evolution and advection of the nearby cloud field. A key problem related to solar energy integration is the improvement of 1-h-ahead forecasts to reduce the impact of intermittency on power systems operations. Many solar forecasts explicitly or implicitly assume Taylor’s hypothesis. While such advection-only forecasts can be presumed to be valid across sufficiently short time scales, it is not clear how rapidly the skill of such a forecast decays with increased lead time. As the goal is to improve the quality of 1-h-ahead forecasts, this work focuses on quantifying the skill of cloud-track wind-based cumulus-dominated cloud field forecasts with respect to lead time. No explicit connection is drawn to the quality of solar forecasts because of the importance of separating two potential sources of error: cloud field forecasting and radiative transfer estimation. It is found that the cumulus field forecast skill begins to asymptotically approach a minimum at lead times of beyond 30 min, suggesting that advection-only forecasts in a cumulus-dominated environment should not be relied upon for 1-h-ahead point forecasts used by radiative transfer methods to estimate solar power production. A first attempt at forming a probabilistic forecast that can quantify this increasing uncertainty when using advection-only methods is presented.

High energy forming technology has been widely applied in the aircraft and automobile area which means high energy works in very short time, no more than 1s. The innovative hybrid impact hydro-forming (IHF) technology is a kind of high energy forming technique. It combines hydroforming and high energy forming, which first use hydro-forming to shape large character of product, then use high energy to form small features, such as convex tables, bars etc. The present work investigates the shock wave generation of hybrid impact hydroforming. In this paper, the theory of shock wave is presented and finite element simulation was carried out by using MSC. The pressure distribution changes in the depth direction, but not in the width direction. Using this shock wave loading condition we did forming experiments. Punching occurred as a result of combined tensile and shear stress effects. Furthermore, the design precise of die and clearance between punch and die may less strict. Therefore, the research is very useful for the development and application of hybrid impact hydroforming.

Abstract Purpose The benefits of regular physical exercise on the tolerability of cancer treatments, quality of life and survival rates post-diagnosis have been demonstrated but all supervised physical activities have been interrupted due to the global health crisis and the need for lockdown to halt the spread of SARS-CoV-2. To reintroduce activities post-lockdown, we wanted to assess the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown on the quality of life and the psychological status of patients who practice an adapted physical activity such as rugby for health. Methods The evaluation was conducted in two phases: an initial self-questionnaire comprised of 42 questions sent to all participants to assess the impact of lockdown and a second assessment phase in the presence of the participants. We assessed anthropometric data, functional fitness parameters, quality of life and the psychosocial status of the subjects. The data were compared to pre-lockdown data as part of a standardised follow-up procedure for patients enrolled in the programme. Results 105/120 (87.5%) individuals responded to the rapid post-lockdown survey analysis. In 20% of the cases, the patients reported anxiety, pain, a decline in fitness and a significant impact on the tolerability of cancer treatments. Twenty-seven patients agreed to participate in the individual analysis. Following lockdown, there was a significant decrease in the intensity of physical activity (p = 8.223e–05). No post-lockdown changes were noted in the assessments that focus on the quality of life and the level of psychological distress. Conversely, there was a significant correlation between the total of high energy expended during lockdown and the quality of life (p = 0.03; rho = 0.2248) and the level of psychological distress post-lockdown (p = 0.05; rho = − 0.3772). Conclusion Lockdown and reduced physical activity, particularly leisure activities, did not impact the overall health of the patients. However, there was a significant correlation with the level of physical activity since the higher the level of physical activity, the better the quality of life and the lower the level of psychological distress.

Abstract It is well known that on the brake pad material, the triptych microstructure-properties-solicitations is the key to better understand the phenomena caused by braking stress. The challenging issues are the evolution of this triptych, i.e., the impact of thermal stress and mechanical stress on the microstructure which undoubtedly induces changes in properties. In order to solve the issues without tackling them in all their complexity, this study proposes an experimental approach where physics is decoupled but inspired by the braking sequence in terms of applied temperature gradient and braking loads. Two experimental tests were carried out. The first one is the thermal solicitation test where a temperature gradient from 400°C to 540°C was applied to the material. The second one is the thermomechanical test where a compressive load at 20 MPa was applied under the same thermal gradient. The experiment time is fixed for two minutes, equivalent to the time of one braking stroke. The referred material is sintered metallic composite, which is widely used as brake pad material for high-energy railways. As result, it shows that coupled thermomechanical stress has a greater impact on the material properties than decoupled one. This impact is related to the microstructure where graphite inclusions play an important role.

Abstract: The design and manufacture of mold often rely on the experience of the designers, which led to the fact that the mold needs to be repeatedly debugged and corrected. Numerical simulation technology enables the simulation of the forming process of sheet metal and prediction of defects in design, thus to improve labor efficiency, save time and reduce costs. In this paper, the software Dynaform is used as a platform and a three-dimensional model is built to numerical simulate and analyze the drawing deep of a typical thin-walled cylindrical piece.Orthogonal experimentis adopted to analyze the impact of BHF, punching speed and punch-die gap on forming quality of the drawing pieces. With minimum thickness and wrinkling as indicators, the impact of various factors is analyzed and a set of optimum parameters is found out that is, BHF is 20kN, punching speed is 2000mm / s and punch-die gap is 0.9mm.

Impact line is one of important factors to affect the shape accuracy and surface quality of auto body panel design and manufacture. It is difficult to study because of the complexity shape of auto body panels. The system of test analysis on impact line is established by analyzing the shapes and forming processes of auto-body panels, of which based on hyperboloid shallow shells. The criterion and research technique of impact line are introduced. Extensive experiment results, which show the effects of forming process conditions, such as blank holding force, draw bead arrangement, and lubrication on impact line, are achieved. It can be concluded that the draw bead arrangement significantly influence the impact line, the displacement of impact line is different with difference of blank holding force and the friction coefficient.
