Through modification of the rubber surface, the adhesive ability of rubber particles and cement based materials has increased, thus improving the mechanical properties of rubber concrete. Dosage of styrene butadiene latex was studied under the condition of 5% cement quality, the change regularity of different amount of rubber latex rubber modified concrete compressive, splitting, flexural strength and other mechanical properties. The test results prove that the latex rubber mixing can improve compressive, splitting and flexural strength of concrete.

Considering large number production of the abandoned tyres and the question of the concrete with mixture of crumb rubber,the mainly task of this paper is to study the mechanical properties of different mixing ratio concrete with vary volume of crumb rubber. The results showed that the workability, apparent density, compressive strength, flexural strength and brittleness index decrease as the increase of crumb rubber. While the anti-crack performance and anti-fatigue performance can be improved. The wear-resistance properties are a little lower than common concrete.

Silane coupling agent built a "molecular bridge" between organic molecules and inorganic molecules, which modified the rubber surface and increased the adhesive ability of rubber particles and cement, so that improved the mechanical properties of rubber concrete. This paper studied on the modification effect of coupling agent on the rubber concrete while the quality of silane coupling agent was 0.5% of that of cementitious material which compared with the mechanical properties of unmodified rubber concrete and the test of concrete under tension and compression ratio and compression ratio were analyzed at the same time.

Crumb rubber concrete (CRC) is an environment-friendly material using crumb rubber as a composition of cement concrete. It provides an alternative method for recycling of waste tires scientifically. CRC exhibits numerous advantages compared to ordinary concrete. However, the application of CRC is limited due to its low compressive and tensile strengths. This paper puts forward a new modified method by adding steel fibers and nanosilica in CRC. Material properties’ testing of eighteen concrete mixtures was investigated, considering different strength grades of CRC and crumb rubber contents. In addition, four different steel fiber contents (0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, and 1.5%) and three different nanosilica content (0%, 1%, and 2%) were taken into consideration. The brittle failure of the CRC can be improved and the mechanical properties can be enhanced according to the test results. More importantly, the modified CRC with 1.0% steel fiber content has relatively high compressive and splitting tensile strengths. Furthermore, the noncompactness of CRC can be effectively improved by nanosilica, enhancing the efficiency of steel fibers simultaneously. Finally, the failure mechanism of the modified CRC is discussed in this paper.

Motor vehicle tires are discarded every year where the majority ends up in land fill. This poses a serious ecological threat as the tires contain many toxic components and contribute to a loss of biodiversity. From the economic and environmental perspectives, inclusion of recycled rubber in concrete would reduce costs as well as conserve the component materials used in concrete. Past studies have indicated poor-mechanical properties of concrete with the sole inclusion of recycled tire rubber. This paper presents an experimental investigation to improve the workability and hardened properties through sodium hydroxide surface treatment of recycled crumb rubber, and silica fume. Ten concrete mixes were prepared with the volumes of recycled rubber ranging from 10% to 30%. The test results were compared with a control concrete mix. The investigation indicated that favorable strength could be achieved with the addition of 10% treated rubber. Test results and analysis details are presented in the paper.

This paper presents the results of a study on mechanical properties of crumb rubber concrete (CRC). The compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and flexural toughness of CRC were investigated. The effect of crumb rubber proportion on the mechanical properties was experimentally analyzed. The test results indicate that the addition of crumb rubber can significantly improve the ductility and flexural toughness of CRC.

This study was conducted to determine some physical and mechanical properties of high-strength flowable mortar reinforced with different percentages of palm fiber (0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6% as volumetric fractions). The density, compressive strength, flexural strength, and toughness index were tested to determine the mechanical properties of this mortar. Test results illustrate that the inclusion of this fiber reduces the density of mortar. The use of 0.6% of palm fiber increases the compressive strength and flexural strength by about 15.1%, and 16%, respectively; besides, the toughness index (I5) of the high-strength flowable mortar has been significantly enhanced by the use of 1% and more of palm fiber.

Cement – polymer composites are nowadays widely used in repair systems not only in case of concrete or reinforced concrete constructions but also in masonry. Polymers addition for example already at 5% m.c. modifies the structure of the cement – polymer composite in a way that many of the mechanical properties such as flexural strength, tensile strength or adhesion to substrates are improved. The paper presents the results of tests such as flexural, compressive or adhesion strength to ceramic substrate of hardened cement mortars with different composition, as well as selected cement mortars modified by two polymers: polyvinyl alcohol and styrene – butadiene polymer dosed at 5 % m.c. Four types of cement mortars modified by lime (component used in historical constructions as well as in contemporary masonry mortars) are also examined for comparison.

<p align="center"><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p>Ceiling evelopment by utilizing waste corn cobs, coconut coir with gypsum flour an the adition of latex adhesive. Variations in the composition of the mixture of corn cobs, coconut coir, gypsum flour with latex adhesive include sample A (0:0:100:15), sample B (3:3:94:15), sample C (6:6:88:15), sample D (9:9:82:15), sample E (12:12:76:15), and sample F (15:15:70:15) with emphasis using a <em>hot press </em>and drying for 28 days. The test parameters include flexural strength and fracture strength. The test results show that sample B in the composition (3:3:94:15) is the optimal result. In this composition, the resulting ceiling board has the characteristics of a flexural strength of 3966,39 kgf/cm<sup>2</sup> and a fracture strength of 1088,6 kgf/cm<sup>2</sup>.</p><p><strong><em>Keyword :</em></strong><em> Lateks , Ceiling Board, Coconut Coir, Corn Cob</em></p><p><em> </em></p>

The cementitiousness between rubber particles and cement-based material could be raised because of the surface modification of rubber,thus enhance the mechanical property of crumb rubber concrete and improve the interface effect of rubber particles.We had researched the change regulation about the ratio of bending-compressive strength of the crumb rubber concrete modified by latex,the concrete with various quantity of rubber,under the condition dosage of latex is 0.5% of cement quality.The result of experimental prove that,compressive strength, splitting tensile and flexural strength could be enhanced because of latex injecting,and the ratio of bending-compressive strength could be enhanced at the same time.


Today’s world is always leads to development in technology as well as the economic growth though sometime these will affect the environment badly. That’s why world environmental commission coined the termed called sustainable development where development takes place without hampering the others’ needs. Concrete industry is rapidly growing industry in India which consumes lots of natural resources during the production of concrete. Here Stone dust is used as a sustainable material in place of sand partially. M25 grade of concrete has been chosen for the experiments. Different mechanical properties of concrete like compressive strength, Split tensile, flexural strength etc. and Microstructural features like SEM, EDX have been included in this study. Compressive Strength and flexural strength test results shown the increase in the strength. Sulphate Resistance Properties have been tested by curing the cubes in the MgSO4 solution and increase in weight has been observed. Similarities are found in the SEM pictures
