Background: Adolescents are a vulnerable group who have great curiosity and need access to various adolescent health information. Therefore, the government has implemented a strategy through the implementation of Youth Care Health Services (YCHS). However, some of the stakeholders and youth have limited access to YCHS especially the ones delivered in schools setting. The purpose of this study was to investigate the implementation of adolescent health programs in schools especially public schools and religion-based schools.Design and methods: This study was an analytic observational quantitative study by using a cross-sectional design.This study was conducted in public schools and religion-based schools in North Surabaya Indonesia. The sample in this study consisted of 100 students through a simple random sampling technique.Results: There was a difference in the level of knowledge of adolescent reproductive health between public schools and religion-based schools (p=0,047). Student’s attitudes (p=0,000) and environmental influences (p=0,000) both related with reproductive health contents. However, there was no difference in adolescent’s attitudes about adolescent reproductive health programs (p=0,190) and adolescent’s exposure to adolescent reproductive health policies (p=0,196).Conclusion: The implementation of adolescent health programs in two types of schools (public and religion-based) were different. Adolescents should have the same rights to obtain knowledge about adolescent health as the prelude for forming a positive attitude. Therefore, stakeholders need to conduct regular monitoring and evaluation on the implementation of standardized adolescent health programs in all types of schools.

Introduction: The globalization of information has a big impact on adolescents. The great curiosity of adolescents about reproduction encourages adolescents to seek information from various sources, including peers, parents, schools and information media. This requires correct and responsible information so that adolescents can have healthy reproductive behavior. The aim is to analyze the knowledge and motivation of peer counselors in the implementation of adolescent reproductive health counseling in Sumenep Regency. Methods: This study used quantitative methods with cross sectional design. The population in this study is the total population, namely all peer counselors who have received training on Adolescent Reproductive Health in Sumenep Regency as many as 66 people. Sampling technique using simple random sampling. Data analysis used chi-square statistical test and logistic regression. Results: The results showed that knowledge about adolescent reproductive health counseling, motivation towards the implementation of adolescent reproductive health counseling, had an influence on the implementation of adolescent reproductive health counseling. Conclusion: This study recommends the Sumenep Regency BPMP & KB Office to organize and activate adolescent reproductive health counseling training and invite peer counselors who are active in Sumenep district, as well as facilitate any adolescent reproductive health counseling activities in the form of facilities and infrastructure

Background: The adolescent girls constitute a heterogeneous group who are at risk of various reproductive and gynecological problems. A number of health schemes are already aimed at targeting the needs of this special population. This study was aimed at identifying the special needs of this population group in respect of medical and reproductive health so as to provide a feedback for ongoing health schemes.Methods: This study was a cross sectional analytical study conducted among adolescent girls attending various government and public schools in Lucknow city and adolescent girls presenting to Gynecology OPD of Queen Mary’s Hospital for various complaints in a span of one year from June 2007 to June 2008. After taking consent, the girls were subjected to a questionnaire consisting of epidemiological parameters and questions regarding menstruation, pregnancy, birth spacing, contraception, abortion, RTI/STD, sex education. This data was later analysed. Those presenting to the OPD of Queen Mary Hospital were subjected to further examination and tests depending on their complaints.Results: A total of 1127 adolescent girls in the age group of 10-19 consented and were included in the study. Awareness regarding the contraceptive methods available was present in only 57.8%. 14% (164) girls were aware of reproductive tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases. However, 61% (687) girls were aware about HIV/AIDS in particular. The mean age at menarche was 11.9±1.0 years. 21.5% had some menstrual problem. There were 34 cases of teenage pregnancy.Conclusions: Our study revealed substantial lacunae in the knowledge and attitude of young adolescent girls towards reproductive and sexual health. Despite various targeted health programs from the government, there is a still a need to further our efforts to improve access to health care and adopt methods to improve awareness regarding the health issues of adolescents.

Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) problems are currently increasingly concerning, this is due to the low knowledge of adolescents about ARH. Increasing knowledge of adolescents about ARH can be done through adolescent health education. Research objectives to see the needs of students about adolescent health education. Research design using cross-sectional. Consists of all students at the Kota Kediri. The sample of some students was 35 respondents using the cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected by questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis using the statistical test of rank spearman. The results showed that almost all respondents had low knowledge (85.7%), mostly good psychological conditions (71.4%), almost all of the level needs assessment of ARH education was high (82.9%). The ARH education method attracted the most questions and answers (88%). ARH media education is the most popular video (86%). The most popular ARH education material was how to care for organs (95%). Almost all of the presenters of ARH education chose health workers (92%). There is a significant relationship between knowledge and the need level of the ARH education assessment, but there is no relationship between psychological conditions and the assessment of the needs of the ARH education level at Kota Kediri in 2021. Based on this research it can be denied that ARH education is needed by students and in delivering the program. ARH education in higher education is adjusted based on student needs.

Background: The role of health students in providing information about reproductive health is very important, especially regarding reproductive health rights for women with disabilities. This is crucial to do because women with disabilities are very vulnerable to violence and discrimination, especially in terms of reproductive health. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the influence of knowledge and intention toward behavior of female health students in accessing information on reproductive health rights for women with disabilities. Research Methods: This was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. This study was conducted at the Midwifery Study Program at Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University Malang in October 2020. The sample size was 50 subjects, selected by simple random sampling technique. The dependent variable is the behavior of health female students in accessing information. The independent variables were knowledge and intention in access to information. Data collection using an online questionnaire. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression. Results: The behavior of health female students in access to information was influenced by knowledge (b= 0.36, CI 95% = 0.12 to 0.60, p= 0.005), and intention in access to information (b= 0.45, CI 95% = 0.10 to 0.80, p= 0.014). Conclusion: Participants with good knowledge and high intention in access to information affect behavior in accessing information.   Keywords:  health students; reproductive health rights; women with disabilities

Introduction: Adolescent is an important segment of life while a child undergoes biological transformation.Objective: The study was conducted to assess the level of knowledge of mothers about reproductive health needs of their adolescent girls. Methods: This descriptive cross sectional study was conducted on the mothers having adolescent girls. Data was collected by face to face interview with a semi structured questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS. The knowledge of mothers was assessed by Likert scale.Place of study: The study was conducted at 5 schools of Dhaka city on 118 respondents over a period of four months.Results: It was revealed from the findings that among 118 mothers the mean age of respondents were 40.71 years with standard deviation ± 3.707 years. Majority (70%) of respondents were undergraduate qualified and rest were post graduats. Among the respondents, 64% of mothers did not want to provide information on reproductive health to their daughters. Seventy two percent of the respondents had average knowledge about puberty. Among the respondents, 47% had average knowledge regarding adolescent reproductive health problems and 77% of respondents had average knowledge about safe motherhood. Regarding the complication of unsafe abortion, 73% had average knowledge and 70% had average knowledge about consequence of early pregnancy. Fifty seven percent of the respondents had good knowledge about Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Sixty one percent of the respondents had good knowledge regarding the high risk behaviour of the adolescents. Significant statistical association was found between knowledge and education, knowledge and occupation, and knowledge and source of information of reproductive health (p<0.05).Conclusion: The study findings may be helpful for baseline information and would be beneficial to the policymakers and programme planners to sophisticate further strategy to increase mothers' knowledge about the reproductive health needs of their adolescent girls.Key words: Knowledge; adolescent; reproductive health needs DOI: 10.3329/jafmc.v6i2.7266JAFMC Bangladesh. The performance of Muslim Founded educational institutions has picked a lot of interest globally over the years. The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council established structures at different levels of administration to participate in the monitoring of Muslim-founded Schools. This study premised on Osborne and Gaebler's (1992) constructs of monitoring, aimed at investigating how monitoring skills of the foundation body representatives on the School Management Committees contribute to the performance of Government Aided Muslim Founded Primary Schools in Uganda, taking a case of the BMDC. A descriptive cross-sectional survey design was adopted for this study, with quantitative and qualitative data approaches, while multivariable linear regression was used to obtain the magnitude of the contribution of SMC monitoring skills to the performance of the primary schools under BMDC. The study revealed that monitoring skills have a positive correlation with the performance of the Government Aided Muslim Founded Primary Schools, though, the correlation is moderate. The moderate correlation is caused by insufficient monitoring skills exhibited by the foundation body representatives in areas such as the development of performance indicators, collection of relevant data during monitoring, designing of monitoring tools, and usage of appropriate methods during monitoring. The study, therefore, concluded that such insufficient monitoring skills have hindered them to adequately monitor which has partly affected the performance of the schools. It is as such recommended that BMDC needs to incorporate specific non-financial empowerment capacity-building components into school activities tailored to train the members on the SMC in aspects of monitoring and evaluation, adult literacy, and financial literacy for improved skills, knowledge, and leadership.

Abstract Background: Girl’s adolescent who live in Islamic boarding schools need behavioral maintenance facilities regarding reproductive health.  Girl’s adolescent development during reproductive growth will be associated with the acceptance of self-esteem. Objective: The study purpose was to understand about the relationship of self-esteem and adolescent reproductive health maintenance behaviors of students in Darussholah Boarding Schools Jember. Method: This study used cross-sectional with 281 adolescent aged 12-18 with convenience sampling. Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) was used to measure self-esteem, and reproductive health care questionnaire was to measure reproductive health maintenance behaviors. Chi-square was performed to analyze the objective of study. Results: The results showed that among 281 adolescents were identify have a low self esteem (85%) and (74%) of less maintenance reproductive health behaviors. There is a significant relationship between the self-esteem and adolescent reproductive health maintenance behaviors among girl’s adolescent in Darussholah Boarding Schools Jember (χ2 = 96.34; p-value = 0.001). Girl’s adolescent with low self-esteem are more likely 35.414 time to have less reproductive health care (OR = 35.414; 95% CI = 90,145-13,913). Conclusion: Acceptance of proportional self-esteem should be improved to maintenance. Therefore, facilities in Islamic boarding schools need to be provided to realize a clean and healthy should the maintenance of reproductive. Perkembangan remaja selama tumbuh kembang kesehatan reproduksi akan berkaitan dengan penerimaan harga dirinya. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harga diri dengan perilaku pemeliharaan kesehatan reproduksi remaja santri putri di Pondok Pesantren Darussholah Jember. Metode: Desain penelitian cross-sectional dilakukan pada 281 remaja berusia 12-18 tahun dengan convenience sampling. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengukur karakteristik remaja. Kuisioner Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) digunakan untuk mengukur harga diri, dan kuesioner pemeliharaan kesehatan reproduksi digunakan untuk mengukur perilaku pemeliharaan kesehatan reproduksi.  Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa remaja memiliki harga diri rendah (85%) dan perilaku pemeliharaan kesehatan reproduksi yang kurang (74%). Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara harga diri dengan perilaku pemeliharaan kesehatan reproduksi remaja santri putri di Pondok Pesantren Darussholah Jember (χ2= 96,34; p-value= 0,001). Remaja santri putri dengan harga diri rendah berpeluang 35,414 kali memiliki pemeliharaan kesehatan reproduksi kurang (OR= 35,414; 95% CI= 13,913-90,145). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara peran keluarga dengan pengetahuan dan SADARI pada remaja putri di Kecamatan Jelbuk. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peningkatan pendidikan dan promosi kesehatan pada keluarga supaya dapat menjalankan peran keluarga dengan lebih baik dan menjadi sumber informasi tentang SADARI bagi remaja putri.   Kata kunci: harga diri, pemeliharaan kesehatan reproduksi, remaja putri, pondok pesantren

Objective: to assess the knowledge and practices of adolescent students in relation to HIV/AIDS and other STIs. Methods: this is a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, which included twelve public schools from seven cities in Rio Grande do Norte, with a sample of 623 individuals. Two electronic and interactive questionnaires were used for data collection. Data processing was performed using SPSS 25.0® and Stata 14.0. For the analysis of associated factors, the Item Response Theory was used. The project of this study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Protocol No. 99473118.2.0000.5292. Results: The participants who achieved the highest means of knowledge level were female (6.04 ± 4.47), with a partner (6.13 ± 4.49), white (6.10 ± 4.46) and received financial assistance from the government (6.72 ± 4.40). Most teenagers reported that they had already had their first sexual intercourse. Of those who continued to have sex in the last 6 months, only 31.3% used a condom. Final considerations: Adolescents have a considerable level of knowledge about the prevention of HIV/AIDS and other STIs, but their sexual practices do not follow the recommended preventive measures.

The high number of cases of early marriage in Bantul raises its problems. Communication literacy Adolescent reproductive health is still low, so the researchers conducted this study. Research on communication literacy, adolescent reproductive health, education aims to: knowing the knowledge of adolescent reproductive education in Sorowajan, Bantul. Second, the researcher wants to provide literacy in reproductive education health communication for adolescents in Sorowajan, Bantul. This research method is descriptive qualitative, by conducting interviews and Focused Group Discussions with the youth of Bantul's Sorowajan Village According to the study's findings, many teenagers who marry at a young age do so due to a lack of knowledge about adolescent reproductive health, poverty, and a lack of education. The government has carried out adolescent reproductive education through several programs, including the National Family Planning Coordinating Board (BKKBN) which has established Youth Family Development (BKR) groups whose targets are families with teenage children. Academics need to help the government carry out communication literacy on adolescent reproductive health, which in this case the researcher and the team have already done it.

This study examined supervisory strategies as correlates of quality education among secondary schools in Ibadan southwest local government area of Oyo State. Simple random sampling technique was used to select thirty schools (public and private) and three hundred respondents consisting of 200 teachers from public schools, 80 teachers from private schools and 20 supervisors from Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the four hypotheses(P < 0.05)  Multiple Regression was used to determine the contribution of independent variables (Supervisory strategies) both jointly and individually to dependent variable (quality education).Results revealed that two of the supervisory strategies (companionable and synergistic) have positive and significant correlation  on quality education (r =0.853) and (r = 0.783) while authoritarian strategy had negative  correlation, laissez faire had no significant relationship on quality education (r = -0.522 and r = -0.200)respectively. The joint contribution of the four supervisory strategies to the prediction of quality  education in secondary schools was also significant (F (4,295) = 261.225).The paper concludes  with some recommendations to the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Government.
