La présente étude a été conduite afin d’accroitre la capacité de nodulation des légumineuses. Pour ce faire, un dispositif de 6 traitements avec 3 répétitions a été mis en place. Il s’agit des traitements T1: sans apport de fertilisants; T2: apport d’azote sous forme d’urée; T3: apport de phosphore sous forme de triple superphosphate; T4: apport d’un mélange azote-phosphate dans les mêmes proportions;T5 : apport d’engrais complexe NPK; T6 : sol amendé avec de l’engrais organique sous forme de compost. L’évaluation de la capacité de nodulation a été faite en considérant deux paramètres après la floraison. Il s’agit du nombre et du poids des nodules. Les résultats de l’analyse statistique ont montré que contrairement au type de fertilisant, l’espèce de légumineuse n’influence pas la nodulation. Ainsi, le nombre et le poids de nodule les plus élevés sont obtenus avec la fertilisation organique. Thus, the highest number and weight of nodules are obtained with organic fertilization. The reuse of solid and liquid wastes has become a viable practice for the sustainability of agricultural production, because it meets the nutritional needs of crops and also allows the use of nutrients present in these residues. The objective of this work was to analyze the nutritional value of Tifton 85 irrigated with treated domestic wastewater and fertilized with nitrogen doses from poultry bed in four successive cuts, with frequency of 35 days. The experiment was set up in a protected environment, arranged in a completely randomized experimental design, in a 5 × 2 factorial scheme, with four replications. Five doses of nitrogen were tested through organic fertilization from avian beds (0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 kg N ha-1) and two irrigation water qualities (treated domestic well and artesian well). After the cuts the material was dried and sent to the laboratory to determine the following parameters: crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and Tifton 85 acid detergent fiber (ADF). The highest values of crude protein were obtained using the domestic wastewater treated in the irrigation, as well as using the higher doses of nitrogen from poultry litter. Just as the NDF and ADF contents presented the best values when treated domestic wastewater and the highest nitrogen doses. Indicating that irrigation with wastewater and the use of organic fertilizer may substitute for conventional manures by promoting satisfactory levels of concentrations for fodder.

Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) is one of the main sources of nutrients for a large part of the population. To increase your income, there is a need for proper management. This study aimed to evaluate yield components of the cowpea cultivar Aracê subjected to two levels of organic fertilization and three management of the natural vegetation of the savannah of Roraima. The experiment was set up in the experimental area of CCA/UFRR, in Boa Vista, Roraima. The experimental design was a randomized block design in a 3×2 factorial scheme, with four replications. The first factor consisted of the management of the natural vegetation: glyphosate application and cutting or not of the natural vegetation. The second factor consisted of the application or not of cattle manure. Yield components were plant height, number of trifoliate leaves, percentage of normal pods, pod length, number of grains per pod, 100-grain weight, sample grain index, total grain index, and final stand. Organic fertilization with 2 L m-2 of manure increased cowpea production. The management with vegetation cutting in areas with organic fertilization increased the final stand of cowpea plants. The desiccation of natural vegetation with glyphosate was the management that had the highest cowpea production.

Abstract Background Microbiomes play vital roles in plant health and performance, and the development of plant beneficial microbiomes can be steered by organic fertilizer inputs. Especially well-studied are fertilizer-induced changes on bacteria and fungi and how changes in these groups alter plant performance. However, impacts on protist communities, including their trophic interactions within the microbiome and consequences on plant performance remain largely unknown. Here, we tracked the entire microbiome, including bacteria, fungi, and protists, over six growing seasons of cucumber under different fertilization regimes (conventional, organic, and Trichoderma bio-organic fertilization) and linked microbial data to plant yield to identify plant growth-promoting microbes. Results Yields were higher in the (bio-)organic fertilization treatments. Soil abiotic conditions were altered by the fertilization regime, with the prominent effects coming from the (bio-)organic fertilization treatments. Those treatments also led to the pronounced shifts in protistan communities, especially microbivorous cercozoan protists. We found positive correlations of these protists with plant yield and the density of potentially plant-beneficial microorganisms. We further explored the mechanistic ramifications of these relationships via greenhouse experiments, showing that cercozoan protists can positively impact plant growth, potentially via interactions with plant-beneficial microorganisms including Trichoderma, the biological agent delivered by the bio-fertilizer. Conclusions We show that protists may play central roles in stimulating plant performance through microbiome interactions. Future agricultural practices might aim to specifically enhance plant beneficial protists or apply those protists as novel, sustainable biofertilizers.

The structural health monitoring (SHM) of critical structures is a complex task that involves the use of different sensors that are also aimed at the identification of the location of the impact point using ultrasonic sensors. For the evaluation of the impact position, reference is often made to the well-known triangulation method. This method requires the estimation of the differential time of arrival (DToA) and the group velocity of the Lamb waves propagating into a plate-like structure: the uncertainty of these two parameters is taken into consideration as main cause of localization error. The work proposes a simple laboratory procedure based on a set-up with a pair of sensors that are symmetrically placed with respect to the impact point, to estimate the uncertainty of the DToA and the propagation velocity estimates. According to a theoretical analysis of the error for the impact position, the experimental uncertainties of DToA and the propagation velocity are used to estimate the overall limit of the SHM system for the impact positioning. Because the error for the DToA estimate depends also on the adopted signal processing, three common methods are selected and compared: the threshold, the correlation method, and a likelihood algorithm. Finally, the analysis of the positioning error using multisensory configuration is reported as useful for the design of the SHM system.

Fertilization is one of the essential managements to maintain and increase soil organic carbon (SOC) level in agroecosystems. It has been realized that fertilizer applications influenced the turnover of labile and refractory organic carbon pools in arable soil markedly. However, the dynamic of relatively refractory lignin in response to fertilization is still kept unclear. Therefore, the impact of long-term organic fertilization on the content and degradation degree of lignin in Mollisol was investigated. Lignin monomers were released by alkaline CuO oxidation method and quantified by gas chromatography (GC). At the time scale of decades, lignin was clearly accumulated in soil and the relative accumulation of lignin in SOC was evident after long-term organic fertilizer application. Compared with the unfertilized soil, lower acid to aldehyde ratios of vanillyl and syringyl units induced by organic fertilization suggested a lower degradation degree of lignin incorporated into soil to some extent. It could be concluded that long-term organic fertilization was an effective fertilizer practice for lignin accumulation in soil and SOC sequestration in Mollisol in northeast of China.

Over 2003-2005 period, a study was performed on the effect of different rates of NPK fertilizer of formulation 8:16:24 + 3% MgO (N1 - 400 kg ha-1; N2 - 600 kg ha-1; N3 - 800 kg ha-1; N4 - 1000 kg ha-1) on development of the soil fungi. The trial was set up in the experimental plum orchard established by Fruit Research Institute Cacak, and the laboratory of Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Agronomy Cacak. Unfertilized soil was used as the control soil. Each of the stated variants was carried out in three replications. The size of the basic plot was 68 m2. The effect of the studied mineral fertilizer rates was determined three times over the growing season, the number of fungi being checked by the indirect rarefaction method on Chapek nutritive medium. The results of the study inferred that the application of mineral fertilizers brought about the decrease in the number of fungi. Of all studied variants, the one with the highest nitrogen rate (variant N4) exhibited the strongest effect. The influence of the fertilizer was highest at the third sampling. Furthermore, the effect was highest in season 2003.

Extensive cocoa plantations in Southeast Sulawesi at 2013 were approximately 245 624 ha, which consists of 177 996 ha of productive plants, 38.970 ha and 28.658 ha unproductive unproductive plants. Cocoa productivity in Southeast Sulawesi as a whole is 0.754 t/ha. The low productivity of cocoa was due to several factors, namely: the use of random seed, still high PBK pest attack, low levels of cultivation technology, as well as the age old cocoa plants. The study was conducted in March - June 2014 Andomesinggu village, district. Besulutu, Konawe. The study results showed that the average productivity of the cocoa plant side grafting 2-3 years amounted to 380 kg/ha, profit of Rp. 7.160.900, -. with the value of RC ratio  of 4.22, meaning farming in the district Konawe economically feasible to be developed. Variables land area is very significant in improving cocoa production and is positive. Similarly, production factors KCl fertilizer, organic fertilizer real berpengatuh to increase cocoa production. While the factors of production of NPK fertilizer, Urea, ZA and pesticides did not significantly decline in production (negative values).

Bolivian Rainbow Chili is one of the ornamental chili varieties which is unique in the form of its colorful fruit color. The vegetative growth of ornamental chilies requires additional nutrients and the role of microorganisms to obtain optimal growth. This study aims to determine the optimal growth of rainbow chilies using the application of PGPR biological fertilizer, a combination of PGPR biological fertilizer and NPK synthetic fertilizer, as well as a combination of PGPR biological fertilizer and compost organic fertilizer. This research was conducted with a completely randomized design (CRD). The data obtained were then analyzed by ANOVA and continued with the LSD test and Duncan’s test at the 5% test stage. The results showed that the combination treatment of PGPR and compost or PGPR and NPK provided optimal vegetative growth compared to single PGPR treatment.

<p>ABSTRACT</p><p>Rainfed ricefield, planted at least for one cropping season in a year, depends heavily on rainfall for its water supply. This land generally is low in fertility as indicated by the limited availability of essential plant nutrients in particular nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) as well as organic matter. Its productivity is relatively low with a rather erratic precipitation distribution. In order to overcome fertility issue in rainfed land, it is necessary to conduct an integrated nutrient management; one of which is by implementing location specific nutrient management. This study aims to seek the appropriate nutrient management in rainfed paddy field of Semawung village in the sub-district of Andong of Boyolali regency to be provisioned as a technological tool of location specific nutrient management. Research on nutrient management of gogo rancah system-based paddy production was carried out from October 2014 to January 2015. The field experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design involving eight treatments and three replications for each treatment. Treatments were combinations of NPK fertilizer, Organofosfat, and straw-based organic fertilizer. Nutrient management using NPK fertilizer and its combination with Organofosfat or organic fertilizer had very significant effect on plant height and number of stem per hill, significantly affected number of panicle per hill, panicle length, and number of fully-filled grain but did not result in difference of fully filled grain percentage and weight of 1000 grains. There was no significant difference between the treatment of 100% of NPK fertilizer and the combination of 75% of NPK fertilizer with straw-based fertilizer regarding these variables: number of stem per hill, number of panicle per hill, panicle length, number of grain per hill, number and percentage of fully-filled grain, weight of 1000 grains, and weight of fresh grain and milled grain yield. Therefore, the latter treatment is feasible as an option of location-specific nutrient management Semawung village.</p>
