Since its establishment in 2018, Christian education management has begun to develop continuously in the educational context of Indonesia. However, it still requires studying more. Accordingly, this research aims to investigate how the department of Christian education management may be developed at the Christian higher education. The qualitative research, in particular, a case study was conducted to investigate the topic. Seven participants were involved and a manual book of Christian educational management department was used as the source of data. Based on the result of the study, it was found four themes that need to pay attention seriously in order to develop further the department of Christian educational management in Christian higher education, namely vision, mission, purpose, curriculum, collaboration, and alumnus. On the other side, for improving the knowledge on the management of Christian education organizations, contributions of this study for further research, practitioners and policy-makers are provided AbstrakSemenjak berdirinya pada tahun 2018, manajemen pendidikan Kristen telah mulai berkembang secara berkelanjutan pada konteks pendidikan Indonesia. Namun, bidang tersebut masih membutuhkan pengkajian lebih lanjut. Sekaitan dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi bagaimana program studi manajemen pendidikan Kristen dapat dikembangkan di pergururuan tinggi Kristen. Penelitian kualitatif, sebuah studi kasus, dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi topik tersebut. Sebanyak tujuh informan dilibatkan dan sebuah buku pedoman Prodi manajemen pendidikan Kristen digunakan sebagai sumber data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, studi ini menemukan bahwa terdapat beberapa tema penting yang perlu menjadi perhatian serius untuk pengembangan sebuah program studi manajemen pendidikan Kristen di perguruan tinggi Kristen, yakni visi, misi, tujuan kurikulum, kerja sama, dan lulusan. Di lain pihak, untuk peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan organisasi-organisasi pendidikan Kristen, kontribusi studi ini untuk peneliti selanjutnya, praktisi, dan pengambil kebijakan disajikan.

<p>Christian educational management is a new field which was born in Indonesia, particularly, at the Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Tarutung. Its origins can be traced to the year 2018 after the oldest public Christian higher education institution established the field as a new department in the Faculty of Christian Education Science, IAKN Tarutung. The department is expected to contribute to the development and improvement of the quality of managing Christian educational institutions. Consequently, the purpose of this paper is to explore the sectors, opportunities, and development of Christian educational management in the Indonesian context. This study found three sectors of Christian education management starting from the lowest level to the highest, namely the micro, meso, and macro sectors. The field of Christian educational management can be further advanced because the Indonesian government had issued several regulations to enhance the quality of Christian education institutions through various policies. Besides, education stakeholders and researchers may give serious attention the study of Christian educational management so that each Christian education institution can carry out its functions effectively and efficiently.</p><p><strong>BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: </strong><span lang="EN-US">Manajemen pendidikan Kristen merupakan sebuah</span><span lang="EN-US">bidang keilmuan baru yang dilahirkan di Indonesia, khususnya di Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Tarutung. Asal-usul bidang tersebut dapat ditemukan pada tahun 2018 setelah salah satu lembaga pendidikan Kristen negeri tertua itu mendirikan bidang tersebut sebagai sebuah program studi baru di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Kristen, IAKN Tarutung. Program studi ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam pengembangan dan peningkatan kualitas pengelolaan lembaga pendidikan Kristen. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai sektor, peluang, dan pengembangan pendidikan Kristen dalam konteks Indonesia. Studi ini menemukan tiga sektor manajemen pendidikan Kristen mulai dari level terendah sampai tertinggi, yaitu sektor mikro, meso, dan makro. Bidang manajemen pendidikan Kristen dapat lebih maju di masa mendatang karena pemerintah telah mengeluarkan beberapa regulasi terkait peningkatan lembaga pendidikan Kristen melalui berbagai kebijakan. Selain itu, para pemangku kepentingan dan peneliti dalam bidang pendidikan boleh memberikan perhatiaan serius terkait kajian manajemen pendidikan Kristen supaya setiap lembaga pendidikan Kristen dapat menjalankan fungsinya secara efektif dan efisien.</span></p>

ABSTRACTThe The increasingly difficult economic conditions require educational institutions at the tertiary level to develop a model for collecting funds from the community, one of which is through cash waqf. Airlangga University already has a model of developing and utilizing campus-based cash waqf. So with this waqf solution the community can be helped especially by students to continue their education. From here the authors are encouraged to conduct research on "Models of Development and Utilization of Cash Waqf for Higher Education (Case Study of Waqf Amerta Airlangga.".With the formulation of the problem: first, How to use cash waqf for higher education in Amerta Airlangga Waqf. Second, how to model the development of cash waqf in Amerta Airlangga. The method of this study used qualitative-descriptive because the data was qualitative, the data was not quantitative which used statistic. Practically, the data collection used three methods, they were: interview, observation, and documentation.Based on the results of research in Waqf Amerta Airlangga, it is known that the Community donated funds to the Waqf Amerta Airlangga through PUSPAS which is divided into two types, namely non-endowment social donations and endowment donations. Then some of the non-waqf funds were directly put into social donation accounts which could be directly utilized for the Airlangga University PUSPAS program, by 85%. While the other 15% is for the operations of PUSPAS Airlangga University. The Waqf Fund through the Amerta Endowments program will be managed separately for the fund as an investment in a number of portfolios. Key Words : Development and Utilization Model, Cash Waqf, Higher Education

This paper explores self-plagiarism in three different articles that reported results of the same research project on reading in a foreign language. This article follows the qualitative research method and an exploratory case study was used. Results support that both inadequate paraphrasing and adequate paraphrasing were given. Regarding inadequate paraphrasing some similar words and ideas were found. On the other hand, using different authors in a specific idea, having different numbers of words in a common issue, and being versatile to present information might lead to adequate paraphrasing. Conclusions suggest that a dialog between editors and authors must be given in order to clear self-plagiarism up. Finally, conclusions also suggest that editors should consider the inclusion of some similar information in articles written by the same author or the same research members

The purpose of this study is to describe and reveal the impact of excessive smartphone use, which then leads to phubbing. This research study was conducted in May 2020 on 30 students of Uin Sunan Kalijaga as respondents or research subjects. This type of research is qualitative research and interviews with all research subjects, and literature review. The results of the study were recorded that 92% of 27 respondents revealed that a phubber did not give appreciation and was more likely to underestimate the other person. So, planting and practicing Pancasila values in everyday life is very important to carry out. This is so that each individual can fortify and organize himself against wise smartphone use. Then it is hoped that through this research study, students as the nation's next generation will realize the impact of excessive smartphone use on social life.

A 2008 review identified the need for Australia to get more citizens into higher education. With this increase in participation, the student cohort began to diversify. Qualitative research showed that final-year students experienced anxiety and a lack of confidence towards their impending transition into professional practice. The WIL course in this case study encouraged students to view career management proactively, as more than generating professional sustenance, but to connect to individual values and working preferences. Students reported that the WIL course helped them gain confidence in their existing skillsets to approach the market. There is an evidence base that as graduates the ‘lifelong' career management benefits of the course continue to be valued. Considerations for WIL praxis include earlier adoption of work-based learning, leverage internal stakeholders to understand the student cohort, and educating academics on assessment design to enhance students' opportunity to learn.

This research aims to investigate the effects of social media use on higher education teaching and learning as well as the students’ academic performance. A total of 275 students and faculty members from the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University took part in the study. The participants answered survey questions to analyse information on their use of social media in education and how that has affected their teaching, learning and grades. A majority of the participants reported that they used social media in training. However, they also stated that social media platforms were beneficial in academic matters. The number of participants who stated that the use of social media in learning helped improve their grades was 43%. The other 57% thought that social media had no impact on their grades or had an adverse effect or were undecided.

This paper employs a social identity approach to explore the management of a collective organizational culture in a culturally diverse context. Literature suggests that cultural diversity can be an asset for organizations if managed effectively. This study employs a qualitative case-study design, drawn on data generated for a larger project that utilized 16 interviews, eight team meetings’ observations, document analysis and field notes. It instrumentally uses a Department of English as its site due to the prevalence of cultural diversity in such context. The paper explores whether leadership is perceived as effective towards establishing a collective identity in an Omani higher education (HE) domain. The findings suggest that leadership impact is restricted by the central management of the system that translates largely into transactional leadership and hierarchical approaches at the level of the group and largely fails to establish such an inclusive identity. The paper argues that in a globalizing era, Omani HE can only view cultural diversity as an asset that aids its intellectual capital establishment. Hence, it should cater for such a composition and engineer it effectively to achieve better alignment with the requirements of the current market. These findings can be of value to policy makers, researchers and professionals in HE.

Abstract Efficiency and equality are both important goals and values in higher education, and their concurrency (balance) has been one of the main concerns of higher education scholars and policy makers over the past decades. The aim of the present study is to discover the causal mechanism and contextual factors that are likely to result in concurrency of equality and efficiency in higher education. To this end, the combination of two explanatory theories of equality and efficiency were used. The theory of equality focused on three dimensions of equal opportunities, modernization, and cultural differences. Likewise, to explain efficiency, Chalabi’s three-level causal model of sustainable production of science was used. Methodologically, a multiple case study method was adopted, and the cases under study (nine countries) were selected based on purposive sampling. The findings showed that for the concurrency of equality and efficiency in higher education, a set of conditions must be present in the configurational and combinational causality. The preconditions for this concurrency is the presence of some social conditions such as productive economy, the rule of law, inter-societies competitiveness, social cohesion, democracy, universalism, egalitarianism (at macro level), meritocracy, academic autonomy, and organizational competitiveness (at the meso level) and the absence of some other conditions including fatalism (at the macro level).

Background: As calls for evidence-based policymaking become increasingly common, qualitative research has much to offer the policy community. However, policymakers frequently evidence a preference for quantitative research. By discounting the importance of qualitative research in the policymaking process, resulting policies and their target populations miss out on the benefits that qualitative research uniquely offers.Aims and objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine how qualitative research has been perceived and used in the US government’s rulemaking process for creating higher education regulations.Methods: This qualitative case study included data from semi-structured interviews with 34 policy actors involved in higher education rulemaking, rulemaking documents, and research reports cited in several key higher education regulations.Findings: Many policy actors viewed qualitative research favourably, but qualitative studies have seldom been cited in higher education rulemaking. Several respondents discussed validity concerns and some policymakers’ misunderstandings regarding qualitative methods. Moreover, storytelling can influence policy actors’ perspectives about the content of policies, and qualitative research was viewed as effective at identifying compelling stories. Thus, narratives derived from qualitative research may provide an opportunity for qualitative researchers to have their work considered in policymaking processes.Discussion and conclusion: Qualitative research faces challenges with gaining visibility and influence in the development of regulatory policy. However, this study has shown that qualitative research has the potential to be both useful and persuasive to policymakers. Studies that discuss relevant stories may be particularly compelling.
