Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools and Assistive Technologies (AT) can support people with Down Syndrome (PDS) and Intellectual Disabilities (PID) in increasing their self-confidence and independence, enhancing skills, and competences, participating in leisure activities. For families of PDS/PID, professionals, non-formal caregivers and volunteers, the challenge is to appreciate the benefits of ICT Tools in promoting inclusion. The aim of this study is to present the interdisciplinary and multidimensional scope of the DS Leisure project aiming at promoting the inclusion of PDS/PID through innovative ICT tools and their participation in inclusive leisure activities. Particularly, 24 individuals were asked to assess the global satisfaction and performance of PDS/PID, as well as the exploitation of ICT tools. Findings suggested that PDS/PID specific social, decision-making, and communication skills were significantly improved after their participation in the Experiential Activity and the e-Training platform was positively rated and considered a constructive learning experience.

The purpose of this investigation was to utilize a multidimensional measure of anxiety and a more sensitive intraindividual performance measure to evaluate the relationship between anxiety and performance. Three hypotheses were tested. First, cognitive anxiety is more consistently and strongly related to performance than is somatic anxiety. Second, somatic anxiety demonstrates an inverted-U relationship with performance, whereas self-confidence and performance exhibit a positive linear relationship and cognitive anxiety and performance exhibit a negative one. Finally, short duration and high and low complexity events demonstrate stronger relationships between somatic anxiety and performance than do long duration or moderate complexity events. Two samples of swimmers completed the CSAI-2 prior to competition, and performance data were obtained from meet results. Correlational and multiple regression analyses generally supported Hypotheses 1 and 3, while polynomial trend analyses on standardized CSAI-2 scores confirmed trends predicted in Hypothesis 2. Overall, these results not only revealed that improved instrumentation allows demonstration of consistent anxiety-performance relationships, but they also provided additional construct validity for the CSAI-2.

Previous research in sociology has shown that what is considered as sanity or mental health is described according to a social ideal. Mental health problems have been theorized as a deviance from such norms. Depression, in particular, has been the object of sociological contemplation due to its divergence from a Western social normativity focused on functionality, adaptation and productivity. This research adds to this body of work on depression as a deviation from social norms. It seeks to address a gap within the literature, by exploring the ways in which the “post-depressive” state may be defined in accordance with social norms. As such, it analyzes the links between “post-depression” and normality, from the perspective of individuals having lived with depression. 46 semi-structured interviews were conducted with Canadians individuals who have experienced depression. Results from our content analysis show that the absence of depression was often synonymous with normality and characterized by the following dimensions: a positive attitude; the potential to take action; functionality and performance; self-management; a positive relationship with others; and the notion of meaningful projects. Our results show that participants do not define the absence of depression following psychiatric or clinical indicators, as recorded in the DSM, and that they do not consider it to be a return to an anterior, pre-depression, state. Rather, post-depression is idealized, perceived as a state of unfailing conformity to social expectations and norms.

Purpose : to provide theoretical analysis of the notion of „assertiveness” and rationale of approaches to the development of future doctors’ assertiveness by means of combat sports (Sambo and Judo). Material : analysis of regulatory documents, literary sources. Results : the author has analysed the essence of the notion of assertiveness, and ideas about the relevance of the quality in doctors’ professional activity. The notion of assertiveness has been defined as the subject quality of an individual integrating initiative and willingness to take risks in difficult situations, self-confidence and positive attitude towards others, the ability to freely make decisions and be responsible for their consequences, persistence in protecting one’s own rights and achieve life goals. It has been shown that the key component of assertiveness manifestations are technologies of subject-subject interaction, that provide mutual correctness and effectiveness of acceptable relations. Means of the combat sports have been viewed as instruments of the development of future doctors’ personal qualities. The potentialities of assertiveness formation by means of the combat sports have been defined. Conclusions : the introduction of the combat sports elements in the professionally applied training of medical university students is an important issue of nowadays, which needs theoretical substantiation and methodical support.

The sufferers’ incapable in carried out DM type 2 is one of the most caused it. Diabetic Self-Management Education (DSME) is the method which can stimulate of patients’ knowledge; skill andability in doing the self-care for prevent the ulcers’ diabetic. The aim of this research is to find out theinfluence of DSME toward the risk of consistence of ulcers’ diabetic for path treatment’s patients ofmellitus diabetes (MD) type 2 at Pukesmas Jalan Gedang of Bengkulu’s working area in year 2016.The method of this research is quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test approach. SimpleRandom Sampling is used to divided the 66 respondent in 2 groups i.e. intervention and controlgroups. The result showed that the influence of DSME toward risk of consistence of ulcers’ diabeticbefore DSME (p=0,329) whereas, after DSME (p=0,020); with improvement of knowledge beforeDSME (p=0,135),after DSME (p=0,027); and leg treatment behavior before DSME (p=0,135)whereas, after DSME (p=0,041); as well as self-confidence before DSME (p=0,454) whereas, afterDSME (p=0,002) by value (≤α=0,05). It can conclude that there is a significant influence of DSMEtoward risk of consistence of ulcers’ diabetic for path treatment’s patients of mellitus diabetes (MD)type 2 at Pukesmas Jalan Gedang Bengkulu’s Working Area in year 2016. This research can be inputinformation for the health’s staff. In order, it can give the knowledge and the health promotion aboutthe influence of DSME toward the risk of consistence of ulcers’ diabetic.

O presente artigo aborda aspectos relacionados à produção habitacional da modalidade “Entidades” do programa Minha Casa, Minha Vida, a partir de observações de campo. Pretende-se elaborar uma chave de leitura que destaque, no contexto de atendimento do programa federal mencionado, as entidades organizadoras e os diferentes graus de vinculação e relação que estabelecem com os movimentos de luta por moradias nacionais, a sociedade e o próprio Estado. Tais questões vêm se construindo e nos mostram certa urgência de análise e pesquisas mais aprofundadas, no sentido de avançar na discussão acerca da produção habitacional por meio da autogestão no Brasil, visto que, ainda que inexpressivo do ponto de vista quantitativo e em comparação com a produção mais massiva empreendida pelo mercado, ela nos revela uma série de transformações que vem redefinindo as relações sociais e a produção do espaço urbano contemporâneo. Palavras-chave: habitação de interesse social; Minha Casa, Minha Vida; entidades; movimentos sociais; política habitacional. Abstract: In response to the global economic crisis of 2009, the brazilian government launched the Minha Casa, Minha Vida – MCMV program, with the purpose of producing one million houses in the country. In its second phase, currently the program aims to produce another two million housing in the country. This production occurs by means partnership among actors at the various political, commercial, social and voluntary levels. In this context, this article aims to develop a new key for reading the entities responsible for organising the construction of the project contracted and the different degrees of attachment and relationship they establish with the national fight for housing movements, the society and the state itself, in the composition of demand and performance location. Such questions show some urgency in the analysis and further research for advancing in discussion about housing production through self-management in Brazil, it reveals a series of transformations that has been redefining social relations and production of contemporary urban space. Mental skills are integral to success in practice and performance. Prominent educators in sport and in the performing arts have advocated their use for years. This chapter provides voice educators and singers with illustrative mental skills that are based on recent research, supplies further background on mental training, and provides examples of key concepts. Teachers, coaches and singers are encouraged to apply the exercises presented and, if necessary, adapt them through experimentation to meet individual needs. Mental skills require regular practice and commitment, and should be an integral part of all teaching and learning. The literature in sport, and more recently in music education and performance, is full of the benefits of using mental skills, and full of ways in which mental skills guide and enhance performances at all levels. The key mental skills covered in this chapter are commitment and motivation, goal-setting, managing anxiety, relaxation, imagery, and developing self-confidence.
