This paper is part of the issue spatial restructuring in Brazilian average cities and has as its objective to analyze the implementation of urban projects of significant impact on the structure of Juiz de Fora, MG. According to a historical perspective, since the 1970s, the city has been undergoing significant changes in its structure, resulting from its expansion and the emergence of new centers.  Stands out, however, from the year 2000, Juiz de Fora became the scene of urban projects (deployed in its Southern Region), from the implemented changes by the government focused on the strategic planning and the urban enterprising: It is noticed, the rise of a new core attractiveness distinct from the others: excluding and in order to threaten the dynamic urban areas.  In front of the ineficcient action from the local government, together with the lack of integrated urban policies to the spatial planning of the city, this work is justified by presenting itself as a way to explore and discuss ideas that contribute effectively to the quality of the town.

The preparation of this Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is mandatory for the Government and Local Governments. Based on these obligations, the SEA Semarang City Spatial Planning Revised for 2011-2031 was prepared with the aim of improving the quality of the Regional Spatial Planning which so far has not been able to solve the City's problems, such as floods and tides. This study aims to determine the process of drafting the 2011-2031 Regional Spatial Planning for the City of Semarang. The research method that will be used is descriptive qualitative method. Based on the results involving stakeholders, such as the Government, the private sector and the community (Academics and non-Government Organizations). The process of preparing the SEA does not yet reflect the maximal sustainable values (interdependency, equilibrium and justice). This is because the analysis carried out is less detailed due to data and budget limitations, so the results of the studies conducted affect the formulation of recommendations for Policies, Plans and/ or Programs (PPP).

Settlements in urban areas expand as the population grows and are influenced by growth centres. This research was designed to identify the quality of informal settlements along abandoned railwaytracks in the Majalaya District, an industrial centre in Bandung Regency, Jawa Barat Province, Indonesia. A quantitative method was employed, with proportional random sampling and the use of  both primary and secondary data. The primary data referred to the conditions of the slum areas, while the secondary data were images, Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) documents and RTRW maps. The quantitative analysis employed scoring through slum settlement assessment indicators, while spatial analysis was supported by regional data. The results from the research show that although housing construction quality varies, most settlements are illegal and prone to flooding, fire, and contagious diseases. The research should be beneficial for the government in promoting and implementing slum eradication programmes in urban areas.

The existence of street vendors (PKL) in several big cities in Indonesia has caused a polemic which is still hot in discussion, where this relationship with spatial planning patterns in an area is causing problems. The problem of street vendors is not a new problem that only exists in Indonesia, even in Latin America and the Middle East itself experiencing the same thing, and the problem of the places where they sell sales and licensing is also a problem. The handling pattern by prioritizing synergy between the government and other parties in the handling process can answer problems related to the existence of street vendors in an area. Bandung city as a metropolitan city "Paris van Java" which provides location centers and tourist centers in the city center. Of course, this cannot prevent the city of Bandung from being at street vendors. The synergy that exists between the government and street vendors in the city of Bandung has resulted in several innovations including Monday without street vendors, this idea is the concern of street vendors for the condition of the city of Bandung with their existence who are often accused of being the cause of several problems and breakthroughs of the Bandung City Government that previously were not conducted in other urban areas in Indonesia, namely the construction of the "Skywalk" in the Cihampelas area of ??Bandung city. Where the skywalk is intended as a means of walking as well as serving to serve street vendors along the Cihampelas shopping route. Keywords: Synergy and street vendors.

The catchment area of River das Antas (Irati, Paraná, Brazil) is of high importance both for human consumption and irrigation. Within Irati, this river passes through a rural area and through the city of Irati, crossing both poor and rich neighbourhoods. We selected three study areas downstream (a rural area, poor community, and rich neighbourhood) in which we measured turbidity, the concentration of sediments and pH during rainy days. Our results showed downstream trends of increasing turbidity and concentrations of sediments with decreasing pH. The values of turbidity and of concentration of sediments were significantly different in the rural area, while the pH values were significantly different between the three study areas. These findings highlight the effect of agricultural activities in the generation of sediments and turbidity. The—presumably expected—effects of organic urban waste from the poor neighbourhood were also detected in the pH values. We conclude that efforts should be made to ensure that land planning and training/education programmes on sustainable farming practices are undertaken by the authorities to reduce water pollution and its effects on water bodies during rainfall events, since paving streets is not a feasible option in the short term due to the high costs associated with this measure.

Transboundary air pollution (TAP) and local air pollution (LAP) influence the air quality of urban areas. Fukuoka, located on the west side of Japan and affected by TAP from the Asian continent, is a unique example for understanding the contribution of LAP and TAP. Gaseous species and particulate matter (PM) were measured for approximately three weeks in Fukuoka in the winter of 2018. We classified two distinctive periods, LAP and TAP, based on wind speed. The classification was supported by variations in the concentration of gaseous species and by backward trajectories. Most air pollutants, including NOx and PM, were high in the LAP period and low in the TAP period. However, ozone was the exception. Therefore, our findings suggest that reducing local emissions is necessary. Ozone was higher in the TAP period, and the variation in ozone concentration was relatively small, indicating that ozone was produced outside of the city and transported to Fukuoka. Thus, air pollutants must also be reduced at a regional scale, including in China.
