The article deals with the translation strategies used in Toba Dream Movie. The objectives of this study were to find out types and most dominant type of translation strategies used in the subtitles of Toba Dream movie. The study was conducting by using descriptive qualitative method. The data of the study were words, phrases, and clauses in the subtitle of  Toba  Dream movie, there  were 425 dialogues in the movie. The data analysis were taken by listing and tabulating the data. The data were analyzed based on the theory that proposed by Henrik Gottlieb. The findings inducted that there  were ten types of translation strategies used in the movie, they were there were (319 times)used transfer strategy,  (37 times) used paraphrase, (27 times) used dislocation, (20 times)used resignation, (10times) used expansion, (5 times)used decimation, (4 times) utterances which used condesation, (1time) used imitation, (1time) used transcription and (1time) used deletion. The dominant strategy used in the subtitles of Toba Dream movie was transfer strategy where the translator  translated the dialogues completely and correctly.

Transferring meaning embedded by English idiom is not an easy way to do. The meaning contained by English Idiom cannot be comprehended by merely knowing the meaning from each word arranging the idiom. Dealing with English idiom in translation is quite hard because the translator has to transfer the meaning of English idiom into Bahasa Indonesia rightly. On the other hand, it is quite difficult to find the equivalence term in Bahasa Indonesia reflecting the same meaning as it is reflected in the source text. To manage this problem, the translation strategies need to be applied. This research focuses on analyzing the translation strategies used by the translator in transferring the meaning of English idioms into Bahasa Indonesia in the subtitle of  Pitch Perfect 3 Movie. The research method is descriptive qualitative method.. Baker’s translation strategies is used as guideline in classifying the translation strategies used. After finding the type of translation strategies employed, further identifying whether the meaning of English idiom is transferred rightly in Bahasa Indonesia. According to the finding, translation by using idiom in similar meaning and disimilar form was not used by the translator to translate the idioms. The frequency of  translation by using idiom in similar meaning but disimilar form strategy is 4 idioms. 46 idioms were translated by using paraphrased strategy. It is only 1 idiom was translated by using omission strategy. that the meaning of 36 idioms are transferred accurately. The meaning of four idioms were transferred Less-accurately. The meaning of 11 idioms were classified as inaccurate translation

This article focuses on translation strategy of idiom in comic Garfield Goes to and its translation. It is expected to identify translation strategies and to know the pattern of translation strategies in translating the idiomatic expression. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative. The source of data is a comic entitled Garfield Goes to Waist and its translation Garfield Mengurangi Berat. Whereas, the data are all of idioms found in the comic. This research applies total sampling technique since the samples are all of data which are found in the source of data. The result of the analysis shows that there are four strategies used by the translator in translating idioms. Meanwhile, the pattern of strategies indicates that Translation by Paraphrasing is dominant strategy. Besides, the others strategies are translation Using an Idiom of Similar Meaning but Dissimilar Form, Translation by Omission and Using an Idiom of Similar Meaning and Form respectively

This article discusses translation strategies related to Morphosemantic Errors. The purpose of this research is to identify nominal phrases, then each structure of nominal phrases is described into three forms of nominal phrases, namely coordinative endocentric phrases, attributive endocentric phrases, and fixed phrases and analyze the strategies used by the translator in translating this short story. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The results of the analysis show that the translator uses various strategies in translating, namely transfer, naturalization, cultural equivalents, functional equivalents, descriptive equivalents, synonyms, comprehensive equivalents, shifting or transposition, modulation, compensation, translation of familiar words, component analysis, paraphrasing, reduction, expansion. In addition, there are some deviations to the nominal phrase. To reveal morphosemantic errors in the Indonesian translation text. Language is used by humans in the world to interact with others. It is a system of arbitrary sound symbols, used by members of social groups to identify themselves, communicate, and work together". Every country has a different language, for example there are several languages ​​whose sentences start with a noun or are also called nouns. The words that are included in nouns are people, animals, things and concepts such as in English and in Chinese.

The aims of this research were to find the translation strategies, translation accuracy, and translation readability of cultural expressions in tourism texts of the Garuda Indonesia Inflight Magazine Colors. The research used a descriptive – qualitative method. To achieve the aims of this study, the researcher used some techniques to analyze the data such as reading and collecting data, encoding data, underlining the cultural expressions in the tourism texts, assessing translation accuracy, assessing translation readability, categorizing types of translation strategies and drawing conclusion. Based on the data analysis from three expert judgements, it was found that 84.5% of the data were accurate because the expressions in the target language have equivalent meaning with the source language; 15.5% of the data were less accurate because the expressions had no equal meaning with the source language and the equivalence seemed less natural; and 0% of the data were inaccurate. Meanwhile, 74% of the data were readable because the translation was very easy to understand; 16.67% of the data were less readable because the translation was not very easy to understand; and 9.33% of the data were unreadable because the translation was difficult to understand. The dominant strategy was the synonymy which got the percentage of 29%, which meant that translators also used the target language words which were more or less the same as the general source language words.

The aim of this study is to analyze the types of figurative language which found in Ugly Love novel by Colleen Hoover. This study used figurative language theory by Leech to analyze the data which the researcher found in the novel. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative method. The total of the data are 87 data to be analyzed in the types of figurative language. The data will be identify and classify into 8 types of figurative language by Leech. The result of this study found 6 types of figurative language in this Ugly Love novel. That are 33 data of personifications (33 data) , 19 data of similes, 11 data of irony, 10 data of hyperbole, 9 data of metaphors, and 5 data of metonymy. The most of dominant type of figurative language in the Ugly Love novel by Colleen Hoover is personification.

This study aims to determine the Tourist Perception of Bokori Island Tourism Object in Bokori Village, Soropia District of Konawe Regency. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Subjects in this study were tourists visiting attractions Bokori Island. Traveler sampling in this study set out in the quota sampling 50 respondents, in this study the sample collection technique by accidental sampling.Methods of  data collection using questionnaires, observation and documentation. Questionnaire data analysis in this research is the analysis presented in the table percentage and distribution. Based on the results obtained show that, according to the perception of tourists attractions of the Bokori Island (1) appeal to the average score - average rating of 3.31 with the perception of being in either category, (2) accessibility with a mean score - average of 3.40 with the perception of tourists are in good category, (3) visitor facilities with a mean score - average rating of 3.12 with the perception of being in either category, (4) infrastructure with a mean score - average 3.53 with the perception of tourists were in the excellent category, (5) security with a mean score - average of 3.24 with the perceptions of visitors are in good category, (6) the promotion with a mean score - average of 3.32 with the perceptions of visitors are in either category. Thus the perception of the overall rating showed a mean score - average rating of 3.32 with the perception of being in either category.

This undergraduate thesis examines the type of transitive verbs found in a children story entitled “Pinocchio”, which was taken from the children story book entitled Disney Storyland Treasury, and analyzes the degree of transitivity found in the story. The data were collected using the documentation method and were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method. In addition, in order to present the data analysis clearly, both formal and informal methods were used since the data were described in form of sentences and tables. The main theory applied in this study is proposed by Hopper and Thompson (1980) about transitivity, who said that transitivity is a matter of degree and partly because obviousness of change in the object. This theory is supported by the types of verb proposed by Givon (1984), which is used to find out the types of verb in the story. The finding of the analysis showed that there were three types of verbs found in the story namely state verb, action verb and process verb. Each verb has different degree of transitivity, where the degree of state verb is categorized as low in transitivity, action and process verbs have the highest degree of parameter of transitivity.

This research was conducted at PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh, with the aim to answer the question of how the payroll accounting system applied in PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh.This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data obtained from interviews and documentation studies, then analyzed interactively and lasted continuously until complete so that the data has been saturated. Activity in data analysis is data reduction, data presentation, treanggulation and conclusion / verification.The results show PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh has implemented a neat and well-payroll accounting system in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Payroll accounting system in PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh is used to overcome errors and irregularities in the calculation and payment of salary. Payroll accounting systems are designed by companies to provide a clear picture of employee salaries so that they are easy to understand and easy to use.

The research deals with the occurrence of shift in Translating Didong texts from Gayonese into Bahasa Indonesia. The objectives of the study were: (1) to find out the types of shifts in Translating Didong texts from Gayonese into Bahasa Indonesia, (2) to describe how the shifts occur in Translating Didong texts from Gayonese into Bahasa Indonesia, (3) to analyze the reasons why translation shifts occur Translating Didong texts from Gayonese into Bahasa Indonesia. The research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. The data of this study were clauses which translated from Gayonese into Indonesian. The data were collected through documentary technique. The technique of data analysis was interactive model.  This research was found that there were five types of translation shift. The type of structure shift was the dominant type. The findings of this study revealed that: (1) The category shifts in Translating Didong texts from Gayonese into Bahasa Indonesia are 1) structure shift, 2) class shift, 3) unit shift, 4) reduplication word shift, and 5) double types of shift. (2) There were some ways of translation shift used in Translating Didong texts from Gayonese into Bahasa Indonesia, namely grammatical change occurred, change in different word class and change in ranks. (3) There were four reasons of using translation shifts are (1) Different language systems, (2) Grammatical structures of SL do not exist in TL, (3) Literal translation is grammatically possible but may not accord with natural usage in the TL (naturalness between SL and TL) and (4) replacing virtual gap by grammatical structure.Keywords: translation, translation shifts, Didong texts.

The purpose of this study, first, is to analyze the echocritical element reflected by the author through the short story Pegasus Jatuh. Second, integrate ecological values in literature teaching. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The approach used is Garrard's eco-criticism. Sources of data obtained from the behavior of characters in the short story. Data analysis begins by marking words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that have a focus on environmental exploitation. The results show in the short story “Pegasus Jatuh”, the author reflects environmental phenomena that include illegal logging, buying and selling protected animals, and exploitation of gold. The analysis applied in literature learning which has an important role in character education. Literature in education has a role to develop the language, cognitive, affective, psychomotoric, personality, and social aspects of students.
