Abstract Today, leadership management is considered a fundamental part of educational endeavors, given that directors are the people entrusted to carry out a school’s order and organization with the support of their teaching staff and educational community within the institute. This research aims to specify transformational leadership traits in preschool directors defined by expert teachers in that level. To compile said opinions, we applied a survey with a Likert scale. The methodology used is non-experimental quantitative and descriptive and was performed with the application of an SPPSS. The results obtained indicate that expert pre-school teachers surveyed prefer charismatic directors. We conclude that principal transformational leadership characteristics which directors possess are, inspiration and motivation that they transmit to their workforce.

In the canton of Santa Elena, transformational leadership was studied and how it affects the work performance of high school teachers of public educational institutions, with the objective of knowing if it affects the functions of teachers and if this has repercussions on their low work performance or overloads the teaching staff. The research has a mixed approach under the deductive method. The fiscal institutions in the Santa Elena canton are located in the central area and have a total of six, with a total of 135 teachers. Leadership is directly related to the work performance of the teaching staff, which is evident in the fiscal educational units of Santa Elena, however, it is established that not all leaders have transformational leadership (LTF) for the performance of their duties, a situation that affects the development of the teaching staff positions. Currently, the organization of primary health prevention in secondary schools is a complex interaction between the health and education systems. In order to determine the need and scope of optimizing the organization of primary medical prevention for school-age children and develop measures to increase its availability, sociological studies were conducted of 400 parents of children studying in secondary educational schools and 403 teaching staff of secondary general education schools. According to the results of a survey of parents of school-age children, the following conclusions can be drawn: parents with children visit polyclinics for the treatment of diseases or for preventive examinations, and they do not have enough time and opportunity to solve issues related to the formation of a healthy lifestyle and have to get the necessary information on their own. The majority (77.8±2.1%) of respondents believe that school teachers can conduct conversations with schoolchildren on the formation of a healthy lifestyle and the prevention of diseases in school-age children. Parents also pointed out that school teachers with varying frequency already conduct conversations with students on the formation of a healthy lifestyle and the prevention of diseases in children. When analyzing the results of a sociological study of teachers, it was revealed that the majority (80.6±2.0%) of respondents consider it appropriate to conduct work with the population on the formation of a healthy lifestyle. More than half (54.8±2.5%) of the respondents consider it appropriate to receive training on healthy lifestyle issues in the future, and 19.5±2.0% - at the first opportunity.

Our education system has been remoulding rapidly because of modernization. Transformational leadership style leads to favourable changes in those who follow. These leaders put in maximum efforts to increase the level of follower’s awareness for valued outcomes by expanding and elevating their needs and encouraging them to transcend their self-interests. Transformational leadership plays pivotal role in promoting and managing school development by influencing the self-efficacy of teachers. Self-efficacy is one of the four major components of positive psychological capital .School is the first and foremost important platform of education. The present paper makes an attempt to study the relationship between transformational leadership style of principal and self-efficacy of school teachers. For this, a total sample of 120 (n=20 school principals having minimum 7-8yrs. experience and n= 100 school teachers having minimum 5yrs.experience of senior classes) were taken. The ratio was 1:5 (1 principal and 5 teacher from the same school). The scores of 1 principal were assigned to 5 teachers. Teacher self-efficacy scale by Schwarzer, Schmitz and Daytner and Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire by Bass and Avolio were used to measure the above variables. The data were analysed with the help of Correlation and Regression technique. Obtained findings revealed the positive correlation of idealized influence, individualized consideration, contingent reward, management-by-exception and laissez-faire leadership with self-efficacy.

"The General History of the Middle Ages at the V. Babeş University of Cluj (1951-1952). The 1948 education reform represented, besides a new institutional architecture transposed in accordance with the model of the soviet universities, a process of recycling professors. The process of changing the teaching staff was carried out on at least two levels – the definitive or temporary elimination (sometimes accompanied by incarceration) from the education system on the one hand, and the exertion of severe surveillance and intimidation, thus remodelling the discourse and the behaviour in the spirit of the socialist realist “cultural revolution” on the other hand. The study shed light on a method that led to the expulsion of the professors was the public defamation, the accusation of immorality and of their lack of understanding of the new political transformations of the country, thus labelling the professors as “enemies of the people”. The atmosphere of fear and humiliation was sustained through press campaigns of defamation. Especially the younger university professors were instructed to attack, in the press, the more professionally well reputed and publicly well-known professors. These articles contained not only analyses of the professors’ works and ideas, but also their dismantling, their “exposé” and their human undermining. This paper is a case study on a professor from medieval department of Cluj university, Francisc Pall at the beginning of 1950s years. Keywords: Communism, Romania, education reform, cultural revolution, violence, surveillance. "

The chapter aimed to examine the relationship of leadership styles and attitude towards organizational change among 360 secondary school teachers in Selangor. Statistical analysis techniques, namely, mean and standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis, were used. Findings indicated that although teachers perceived the leadership styles of their principals were only at the moderate level, teachers showed a high level of positive attitude towards organizational change. There were positive relationships between principals' leadership styles and teachers' attitudes towards organizational change. The results also revealed that 11.8% of the variance of attitude towards organizational change is explained by transformational leadership style. Hence, transformational leadership style has an influence on the teachers' attitudes towards organizational change. The practical implications of these findings were discussed to provide insights for the improvement on leadership practices towards organizational change in the secondary schools in Malaysia.

The past few years have seen the promise of online collaboration vastly augmented by developments in online technologies and emerging creative practices. Through our work with the Omnium Research Group, the authors argue that design should never be a solitary activity and benefits from many levels of collaboration - never more so than when dealing with complex issues facing today’s world. The highly connected global society in which many of us now live frequently uses web-technologies to enhance nearly every facet of day-to-day life. The authors strongly believe that design education should not isolate itself from such communal and collaborative potential. This chapter explores what happens when online creative collaboration is applied to a real-world design project tackling critical health issues affecting local communities in Africa. It offers an account of the most recent, fully-online Creative Waves project - Visualising Issues in Pharmacy (VIP) that saw over 100 graphic designers join forces with a similar number of pharmacists from over 40 countries worldwide to produce graphic proposals for public awareness campaigns about six health issues seriously affecting the people of a village community in Kenya. The three-month VIP project is explained in relation to its aims, objectives and graphic outcomes, as well as the online environment in which it took place. Creative Waves is a concept created in 2005 by the Omnium Research Group, based at The University of New South Wales in Australia, to form online communities of design students from many institutions around the globe. Consisting an array of enthusiastic students, teaching staff, professional practitioners and luminaries invited as special guests, these online creative communities have proved that amazing results can be produced through careful facilitation between distanced individuals who will most likely never meet. The Creative Waves concept has to date been offered twice in collaboration with Icograda and the Icograda Education Network.
