Most of the current panorama generation tools need an input to be provided along a single axis, which means that only a small portion of the scene is recorded. To achieve a wide area of viewers, this paper suggests a multi-row panoramic technique (multi-panorama method). A pan/tilt camera allows the automatic or manual scanning to occur over large horizontal and vertical perspectives. Frame pictures in horizontal and vertical perspectives to adjust to their coordinates and projections will need separate projection marks. And the picture should be continually updated over long time periods but it should also coordinate with other pictures in the spatial region, so as to provide an almost seamless appearance. Before these challenges, the first and before those, the worse, the game creates an optimum scanning route that encompasses the majority of the display and utilizes the reference frame as a starting point to stitch all the remainder. Multi-row stitching has a method of ensuring a minor alignment fault is located in the first column, followed by a small miss in the second row. It should be noted that mrpg suggests a multi-point stitch to reduce seams and compensate for distortion, and so that the existing structure is not divided around the panoramic canvas in an inaccurate manner. A new panoramic image synthesis approach was introduced that produced results that indicate panoramic images are higher quality than other current state- of-ofthe- the-the-art approaches, and- of pan or-the-art image techniques. Because of this, we used the surf feature instead of the sift algorithm, we got to results much more quickly and, we were able to achieve the targeted precision much faster.

AbstractElectrically vaporizing foil actuators are employed as an innovative high speed sheet metal forming technology, which has the potential to lower tool costs. To reduce experimental try-outs, a predictive physics-based process design procedure is developed for the first time. It consists of a mathematical optimization utilizing numerical forming simulations followed by analytical computations for the forming-impulse generation through the rapid Joule heating of the foils. The proposed method is demonstrated for an exemplary steel sheet part. The resulting process design provides a part-specific impulse distribution, corresponding parallel actuator geometries, and the pulse generator’s charging energy, so that all process parameters are available before the first experiment. The experimental validation is then performed for the example part. Formed parts indicate that the introduced method yields a good starting point for actual testing, as it only requires adjustments in the form of a minor charging energy augmentation. This was expectable due to the conservative nature of the underlying modeling. The part geometry obtained with the most suitable charging energy is finally compared to the target geometry.

Abstract Advances in hardware automation in synthetic biology laboratories are not yet fully matched by those of their software counterparts. Such automated laboratories, now commonly called biofoundries, require software solutions that would help with many specialized tasks such as batch DNA design, sample and data tracking, and data analysis, among others. Typically, many of the challenges facing biofoundries are shared, yet there is frequent wheel-reinvention where many labs develop similar software solutions in parallel. In this article, we present the first attempt at creating a standardized, open-source Python package. A number of tools will be integrated and developed that we envisage will become the obvious starting point for software development projects within biofoundries globally. Specifically, we describe the current state of available software, present usage scenarios and case studies for common problems, and finally describe plans for future development. The purpose of image registration is to find the symmetry between the reference image and the image to be registered. In order to improve the registration effect of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) remote sensing imagery with a special texture background, this paper proposes an improved scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithm by combining image color and exposure information based on adaptive quantization strategy (AQCE-SIFT). By using the color and exposure information of the image, this method can enhance the contrast between the textures of the image with a special texture background, which allows easier feature extraction. The algorithm descriptor was constructed through an adaptive quantization strategy, so that remote sensing images with large geometric distortion or affine changes have a higher correct matching rate during registration. The experimental results showed that the AQCE-SIFT algorithm proposed in this paper was more reasonable in the distribution of the extracted feature points compared with the traditional SIFT algorithm. In the case of 0 degree, 30 degree, and 60 degree image geometric distortion, when the remote sensing image had a texture scarcity region, the number of matching points increased by 21.3%, 45.5%, and 28.6%, respectively and the correct matching rate increased by 0%, 6.0%, and 52.4%, respectively. When the remote sensing image had a large number of similar repetitive regions of texture, the number of matching points increased by 30.4%, 30.9%, and −11.1%, respectively and the correct matching rate increased by 1.2%, 0.8%, and 20.8% respectively. When processing remote sensing images with special texture backgrounds, the AQCE-SIFT algorithm also has more advantages than the existing common algorithms such as color SIFT (CSIFT), gradient location and orientation histogram (GLOH), and speeded-up robust features (SURF) in searching for the symmetry of features between images.

Abstract. An analysis of so-called early warning signals (EWS) is proposed to identify the spatial origin of a sudden transition that results from a loss in stability of a current state. EWS, such as rising variance and autocorrelation, can be indicators of an increased relaxation time (slowing down). One particular problem of EWS-based predictions is the requirement of sufficiently long time series. Spatial EWS have been suggested to alleviate this problem by combining different observations from the same time. However, the benefit of EWS has only been shown in idealised systems of predefined spatial extent. In a more general context like a complex climate system model, the critical subsystem that exhibits a loss in stability (hotspot) and the critical mode of the transition may be unknown. In this study we document this problem with a simple stochastic model of atmosphere–vegetation interaction where EWS at individual grid cells are not always detectable before a vegetation collapse as the local loss in stability can be small. However, we suggest that EWS can be applied as a diagnostic tool to find the hotspot of a sudden transition and to distinguish this hotspot from regions experiencing an induced tipping. For this purpose we present a scheme which identifies a hotspot as a certain combination of grid cells which maximise an EWS. The method can provide information on the causality of sudden transitions and may help to improve the knowledge on the susceptibility of climate models and other systems.

We report experimental evidence for a spontaneous shape transition, from regular islands to elongated nanowires, upon high-temperature annealing of a thin Mn wetting layer evaporated on Ge(111). We demonstrate that 4.5 monolayers is the critical thickness of the Mn layer, governing the shape transition to wires. A small change around this value modulates the geometry of the nanostructures. The Mn–Ge alloy nanowires are single-crystalline structures with homogeneous composition and uniform width along their length. The shape evolution towards nanowires occurs for islands with a mean size of ≃170 nm. The wires, up to ≃1.1 μm long, asymptotically tend to ≃80 nm of width. We found that tuning the annealing process allows one to extend the wire length up to ≃1.5 μm with a minor rise of the lateral size to ≃100 nm. The elongation process of the nanostructures is in agreement with a strain-driven shape transition mechanism proposed in the literature for other heteroepitaxial systems. Our study gives experimental evidence for the spontaneous formation of spatially uniform and compositionally homogeneous Mn-rich GeMn nanowires on Ge(111). The reliable and simple synthesis approach allows one to exploit the room-temperature ferromagnetic properties of the Mn–Ge alloy to design and fabricate novel nanodevices.

Recent regulations on pollutant emissions have pushed working machines manufacturers towards research and development efforts to meet the strict limits imposed. For a long time, the use of gas aftertreatment systems have been the most widely accepted solution to reduce the amount of pollutants produced per unit of work done. However, lower emissions limits lead to larger systems and consequently higher difficulties in vehicle integration. Thus, alternative solutions have been studied in the last years to solve the emissions problem using wisely the on-board space. Hybrid electric technologies represent a valuable alternative in this direction. In this work, a review of the current state of the art in the adoption of hybrid and electric technologies on working vehicles is proposed. Due to the high amount of application fields and concepts for special applications, the analysis focused on the three major fields which however includes most of the working machines: Construction, Handling and Agriculture. This work highlights how the requirements of each specific field, strongly affects the design of an optimal hybrid electric architectures.

For many decades Palaeolithic research viewed the development of early modern human behaviour as largely one of progress down a path towards the ‘modernity’ of the present. The European Palaeolithic sequence — the most extensively studied — was for a long time the yard-stick against which records from other regions were judged. Recent work undertaken in Africa and increasingly Asia, however, now suggests that the European evidence may tell a story that is more parochial and less universal than previously thought. While tracking developments at the large scale (the grand narrative) remains important, there is growing appreciation that to achieve a comprehensive understanding of human behavioural evolution requires an archaeologically regional perspective to balance this.One of the apparent markers of human modernity that has been sought in the global Palaeolithic record, prompted by finds in the European sequence, is innovation in bonebased technologies. As one step in the process of re-evaluating and contextualizing such innovations, in this article we explore the role of prehistoric bone technologies within the Southeast Asian sequence, where they have at least comparable antiquity to Europe and other parts of Asia. We observe a shift in the technological usage of bone — from a minor component to a medium of choice — during the second half of the Last Termination and into the Holocene. We suggest that this is consistent with it becoming a focus of the kinds of inventive behaviour demanded of foraging communities as they adapted to the far-reaching environmental and demographic changes that were reshaping this region at that time. This record represents one small element of a much wider, much longerterm adaptive process, which we would argue is not confined to the earliest instances of a particular technology or behaviour, but which forms part of an on-going story of our behavioural evolution.

This chapter proposes an assessment of the state of the study of legislative politics in France. It starts with a review of how the study of legislative politics has developed comparatively over time and identifies the major current debates in the comparative literature. Then it turns to the French case, explaining its weaknesses and peculiarities, and assessing the current state of legislative studies in France. We see that, for a long time, legislative studies were rare in the landscape of French political science. Things, though, have evolved since the end of the 1990s, when there was a renewed scholarly interest in central institutions and actors of the French political regime as well as the emergence of new work that was better connected with the methods, theories, and topics of mainstream legislative studies. Finally, we underline some dimensions of the agenda for the future study of legislative politics in France.

Strengthening historical buildings and evaluating their performances make great contributions to both the history of the country and the tourism of the country. In this study, performance analysis and evaluations of the historical cinema hall balcony, which was built in 1933 by a French company and served to Zonguldak province for a long time, are presented in detail. This cinema hall was frequently used by local people between 1933 and 1999 and hosted many Yeşilçam movies. Firstly, examinations were performed in the historical cinema hall and the areas (columns, beams and floors) that were damaged in time were identified. According to the obtained information, it was determined that there were significant damages in the carrier system of the building and there were visible cracks and damages in the columns of the cinema hall. It was also observed that explosions occurred in one of the main carrier columns of the balcony. After the core samples taken from the balcony were tested in the laboratory, the current status of the carrier elements and reinforcements were determined with the help of an x-ray rebar scanner. After all these processes, the structure was modeled as three dimensional (3D) using a special computer program and performance evaluations were performed regarding the current state of the structure. As a result of the performance evaluation, it was determined that the balcony of the historical cinema hall could not survive anymore and would collapse over time. It was concluded that there were great damages especially on the balcony columns and a reinforcement should be made on a total of 6 columns. Strengthening was made to 4 different main columns and a performance analysis was performed again in strengthened structure. After strengthening, it was understood that the columns of the balcony of the cinema hall could survive for a long time.

Modern surgery is taking over more and more organs, recapturing more and more areas of internal medicine. We see that in its great progressive movement surgery gradually involves within its sphere of influence a whole range of diseases that previously belonged exclusively to the sphere of internal medicine, such as some diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, lungs, etc. We see that even those organs, which until so recently were considered inaccessible to the art of the surgeon, are beginning to be subject to surgical intervention. Such last inviolable organ, on which the hand of the surgeon has not encroached for a long time, is the heart.
