Journalistic Arabic appears to be encroaching upon Classical Arabic language in many respects. The former seems to have been influenced by European languages via translation. New construct phrases and idiomatic expressions have come into existence and other classical syntactic structures ceased to exist in journalistic Arabic. The new syntactic modes of expression are not as strict as Classical ones. They seem conformed to the English thought habits and thus retain much less of the rigid Classical Arabic structural particularities. Thus journalistic Arabic is deemed more flexible than Classical Arabic, which enjoys a restricted formal scope of Arabic literary genres that bring about the poetic use of the language. Such use is unwelcome by the media, merely because the focus of the media writing is on communicating the message rather than presenting the aesthetic value of the expression. It is not the intention of the author here to promote Classical language to the detriment of the language of the media, but to show how deviant the modern journalistic language is in relation to the classical Arabic, the most revered and highly respected. This paper is thus an inquiry into the journalistic transgression against Classical Arabic via translation from European languages, especially English. This transgression is obvious in deviant passive structures, negative constructions, and literal translation of foreign idiomatic expressions. Each of these themes will be discussed, alongside representative examples to elucidate each point in question. The paper ends by discussing the repercussions of this study for journalists and their affinity with Classical Arabic.

The struggle of the residents in Vila Autódromo to reinvent their territory, violently affected by the onslaught of urban restructuring during the times of Olympic urbanism in Rio de Janeiro, is taken as an emblematic case of the production of conflictual space. The present article describes the various instruments and strategies that the residents and their supporters have used in order to resist the current city project. The imaginative capacity of the subjects over recent years has helped to bring the case into the public sphere on several different levels: local, national and international. The present article is made up of the following sections: a brief description of Vila Autódromo as a disputed territory; the media as an active tool in the production of space; institutional violence on the territory; places for communicating the struggle; and insurgent territorial grammars. In the final considerations a number of the key ideas are taken up so as to emphasize the transformative, emancipatory learning possibilities for all those who have participated within the process.

A’mru ibn Kolthoum is one of the greatest poets who expounded graceful portraits of gifted Arabs in the pre-Islamic period by intellectuality of using the classical language. The researcher in this article undertakes to probe the depth of the poetry of A’mru ibn Kolthoum as an illustration of the immensity of the Arabic language as well as being a symbol of pride. The study, using the critical-analytical approach, opens with an introduction on Arabic as a medium poetic language, making clear the significance and prominence of the Arabic language and its influence and contribution to the heritage of Arabs. Then the paper moves to sort out the creator of this literary piece under-study, focusing on the personality of the poet-knight A’mru ibn Kolthoum, his poetry, and his tribe. Thenceforth, the researcher shifts to the central part which is an analytical examination of his Mua’llagah revolving about pride and dignity and tyranny. The third matter that is all based on the Arabic that is good and right in order to support the achievement of a taerget that has been set by the school. Learn Quran is the basic foundation which was almost unknown even felt by every muslim when still aged. Starting from pronouncing the letter per letter to understand it properly and correctly. Likewise in this school, also did not immediately leave the important teachings of already planted by the teachers who have been teaching him. Not a few pupils from this school who come from schools that barely taught again during the SD. As Christian schools or the like. It is clear to students the impact when they entered the Al-Azhar Islamic school Cairo. Starting from reading the Qur'an to other Islamic lessons. Especially the three material taken directly from Cairo Egypt writers already mentioned at the beginning. The article proposes a model of an impulse-wave mechanism of the interaction between the media and society as a recipient. The article aims at creating a model building a background for using mathematical tools in forecasting results of the impact of information waves generated by the media on society information field. Applying scientific categories that belong to natural sciences will allow one to meet the goal set more easily. The media impact on society can be compared with impulses that unbalance individuals’ characteristics for a more or less prolonged time. Being unbalanced these characteristics fluctuate in some way with these fluctuations gradually decreasing until new information impulses appear. Such fluctuations are not homogenous, they depend on quality characteristics of a particular individual and can be classified on different levels, i.e. physical, emotional, intellectual and value-semantic ones. Impulses initiated by the media receive a wave response in society changing characteristics of homogeneous groups of individuals in the information field. In this way, the media activate some fluctuations of individuals’ characteristics and stop the other ones. In such a way, an indirect method of managing society is used. The proposed model of an impulse-wave mechanism can be helpful to find ways of harmonizing society by changing the media’s role from an instrument of society destruction to an instrument of society building. The authors suppose that such re-focusing can be achieved by activating fluctuations of ratio-value characteristics of individuals as elements of society.

Despite of the popularity of interactive movie trailers, rigorous research on one of the most apparent features of these interfaces – the level of user control – has been scarce. This study explored the effects of user control on users’ immersion and enjoyment of the movie trailers, moderated by the content type. We conducted a 2 (high user control versus low user control) × 2 (drama film trailer versus documentary film trailer) mixed-design factorial experiment. The results showed that the level of user control over movie trailer interfaces decreased users’ immersion when the trailer had an element of traditional story structure, such as a drama film trailer. Participants in the high user control condition answered that they were less fascinated with, absorbed in, focused on, mentally involved with, and emotionally affected by the movie trailer than participants in the low user control condition only with the drama movie trailer. The negative effects of user control on the level of immersion for the drama trailer translated into users’ enjoyment. The impact of user control over interfaces on immersion and enjoyment varies depending on the nature of the media content, which suggests a possible trade-off between the level of user control and entertainment outcomes.
