The present study was undertaken with the main objective of assessing the effectiveness of agricultural programmes of different channels as perceived by the televiewing farmers. Before and After research design was followed in the present investigation. The study was conducted in Tirupathi mandal, Chittoor district which were selected purposively. The data were collected randomly by talking personally interview of 120 televiewers. The data was collected by personal interview method through structured interview schedule. Majority of the respondents were middle aged, had medium level of education, medium farming experience, medium land holding, medium level of extension contact, mass media exposure, economic orientation, achievement motivation and innovativeness. Majority of the respondents had perception of televiewing farmers of different channels with respect to components of effectiveness, namely understandability, usefulness, demonstration mode of presentation, entertainment and relevancy of pictures. “Time duration is not sufficient”, “Telecast time is not convenient”, “Telecast programmes are useful to the farming community” and “Telecast programme are drawing attention of the farmers to bring awareness on new technology” were the major reactions of the respondents. Telecast time need to be changed from 6:00am-7.00am and 7.00pm-9.00pm, all programmes should be telecasted should be telecasted daily, information on the schedule of the topics to be telecasted in the telecasted in the consecutive week should be advertised at the starting of the week, separate television channel is required to telecast agriculture related activities.

The present study was conducted with the objective to find out the socio economic profile, agri-entrepreneural behaviour and attitude of king chilli growers in Dimapur district of Nagaland and find out the constraints faced by the respondents and to obtain their suggestions. A total of one hundred twenty farmers were selected from 4 villages using proportionate random sampling procedure. Data was collected by using interview method using pre-structure D interview schedule and analyzed using appropriate statistical tools. The study revealed that majority of the respondents belonged to middle aged group, had medium level of annual income with medium size of land holding. Majority of them had medium year of farming experience and medium level of extension contact. On analyzing the entrepreneural behaviour level, highest number of respondents i.e. 65.83% were having medium level of entrepreneural behaviour followed by 25 % having high and 9.16% having low levels. In respect of correlation analysis between entrepreneural behaviour level and socio- economic profile of respondents it shows that annual income, extension contact, mass media exposure and social contact are positively significant. Whereas, age, education, family type, family size, type of house, land holding, and farming experience are non-significant. In respect of the correlation analysis, the annual income, extension contact, mass media exposure and social contact were positively significant at 0.05 % level related to attitude of the people whereas age, education, family type, family size, type of house, land holding, and farming experience were found to be non-significantly related to attitude of the respondents towards king chilli production respectively.

Pomegranate is one of the most remunerative fruit crops grown in Maharashtra and it is the leading state with 65.51 per cent of the area and 64.61 per cent of total production under pomegranate. This study aims to increase the production and productivity of pomegranate for which in-depth understanding of knowledge and adoption level of pomegranate cultivation practices should be learnt. Descriptive research design is adopted. In Ahmednagar, Shrigonda taluk is selected purposively, since it has major contribution in production of pomegranate. 120 pomegranate growers were selected from 12 village of Shrigonda taluk forms the respondents. Primary data collected from respondents with the help of pre-structured interview schedule during 2021. The results indicated that majority of the respondents had medium level of knowledge and attitude (37.50%). The socio-economic characteristics like age, occupation, annual income, land holding, number of trainings attended, mass media exposure, social participation, extension contact, innovativeness and progressiveness had significant association with the knowledge level of the respondents. Further, awareness generation on harvesting and post-harvest management should be done to pomegranate growers.

Creation and development of enterprise is shouldered by men and women equally. The study was undertaken in seven colleges of Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University of Gujarat State; to seek the answer that whether the revised curriculum is able to attain its objectives of creating entrepreneurs among both the genders. A pre-structured interview scheduled and a standardized tool was used to measure independent variables (basic profile) and dependent variable (entrepreneurial talent and willingness to set-up enterprise) respectively. Frequency, percentage, range, correlation coefficient were used to tabulate the data. Significant difference was obtained when overall entrepreneurial talent was compared among girls and boys. Risk taking ability, problem solving ability, persuasiveness and leadership ability of both the gender were found to be non significant. Girls were found to have higher self-concept and achievement motivation in comparison to their counterpart while boys had more positive attitude towards other entrepreneurs’ trait. Only about 12 per cent of the respondents were ready to set-up their enterprise and among them only 14 per cent were girls. The reason stated by boys for non willingness for entrepreneurial venture was ’lack of financial assistance’ and for girls it was ’lack of family support’. Programme of study, year of study and mass media exposure showed positive correlation with entrepreneurial talent, thus enhancing these can bring change entrepreneurial talent of agricultural graduates.

This study has been conducted to find out the working conditions of Ao Naga tribal women in different farming activities in the district of Mokokchung. The aforementioned study was conducted in Tuli Block at Mokokchung district in the year 2021. A descriptive research designed was applied for this study. The primary data was collected from 120 respondents by personal interview method using pre-structured interview schedule. After the analysis of the data it was observed that, maximum number of the respondents were having medium level of extension contact and a medium level percentage was found in regards to the attitude of the respondents.

The primary data were gathered by the researcher itself through pre-structured interview schedule. Appropriate statistical tools were used to interpret the collected data to draw logical conclusion. The finding inferred that majority of farmers were having medium level of knowledge towards improved wheat production practices. Age, Education, land holding, Mass media exposure, Extension contacts, Economic motivation were observed positive and significant correlation with their knowledge level.

Water is a critical resource in agriculture & allied sector and it is estimated that globally, on average, agriculture accounts for 70 percent of global freshwater withdrawals. Consequently, the management of water in agriculture (irrigation) becomes important and in this context, programmes on irrigation and water conservation have been playing pivotal role. At present, this task at central level is performed by Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY). So, the research objective was formulated to study the socio-personal and communication characteristics of beneficiary farmers of PMKSY and it was undertaken during 2020-21. Uttarkashi and Dehradun districts were selected purposively and two blocks were selected in each district by simple random sampling. Three villages from each block and twenty farmers from each village were selected by following simple random sampling. Thus, the sample constituted to a total of 240 respondents. The findings revealed that majority (35.84%) of beneficiary farmers belonged for middle age group, more than two-fifth (40.00%) of the beneficiary farmers had education up to intermediate, almost two-fifth (39.17%) of the beneficiary farmers had medium farm, nearly half (49.59%) of the beneficiary farmers had medium farming experience. Moreover, beneficiary farmers (100.00%) had agriculture as their primary occupation, half (50.83%) of the beneficiary farmers had medium extension contact, more than half (56.67%) had medium level of mass media exposure followed, three-fifth (61.25%) beneficiary farmers had high innovativeness, 51.67 per cent PMKSY beneficiary farmers had low level of training exposure, majority (47.50%) had low social participation, 60.83 per cent beneficiary farmers had medium achievement motivation, majority (67.50%) had medium scientific orientation and majority (66.67%) of beneficiary farmers belonged to medium risk preference group. Interventions on focusing on small and marginal farmers, providing more trainings, improving extension contacts and social participation were suggested as the suitable measures for success of micro irrigation under PMKSY.

Villages and its farmers are the base of Odisha. But, when farmers suffer from ailments, they have to pay heavy economic, social and emotional price. Financial hazard and health related expenses led the farmer to suffer in poverty. Whereas, Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana (BKKY) brought as a solution to farmers for their health security. The study was conducted in Angul district of Odisha under ex-post facto research design. 120 respondents from 10 villages of Angul block in Angul district of Odisha was selected for the study. Primary data were collected from the respondents with the help of pre-tested semi-structured interview schedule through personal interview. Data collected were subjected to statistical analysis and the identified that majority of the respondents were middle aged, illiterate, earns medium level of annual income, with medium level of mass media exposure and extension contact. Further added that, respondents reported positive impact on BKKY and socio-economic characteristics like education, income, mass media exposure and extension contact has positive and significant association with the impact of BKKY among the farmers. It was suggested to create awareness among farmers on benefits of BKKY, providing quality health consultations, proper knowledge at timely manner.

India is an agrarian based country with two third of population as farming community. Wheat, ‘King of cereals’ also the second most cultivated food crop has technological gap in adoption of improved variety, hence the present study aims to understand the socio-economic profile, knowledge, attitude and adoption level of respondents to identify the technological gap and increase the adoption rate. The present study is carried out with 120 respondents from ten villages of Holgarh block of Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. Primary data collected with the help of semi-structured interview schedule and subjected to statistical analysis. The results indicated that majority of the wheat growers had medium level of knowledge, attitude and adoption towards SHUATS W-6 variety. Further, it was recommended for timely availability of seeds, fertilizer, proper marketing facility and reducing the cost of critical inputs.

The research study was conducted in Dharwad district during 2013-14, with a sample size of 120, farmers were randomly selected from three taluks viz, Hubli, Dharwad and Kalagatagi. The results revealed that 37.50 per cent of the respondents belonged to medium entrepreneurial behaviour category, whereas, 32.50 per cent and 30 per cent belonged to low and high entrepreneurial behaviour category respectively. Further, entrepreneurial behavioural characteristics such as innovativeness was medium (38.33%) in rose growers 45 per cent of rose growers had medium achievement motivation, 40 per cent of the respondents belonged to medium economic motivation category, 46.66 per cent of the rose growers belonged to intermediate decision making ability category, 42.50 per cent of the rose growers and 42.22 per cent of other farmers had medium risk orientation, 44.16 per cent of the rose growers belonged to medium level leadership ability category. The characteristics such as education, annual income, mass media exposure, extension contact, were positive and significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour at 1% and scientific orientation and family size were positive and significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour. The variables such as age and land holding were not significantly related with entrepreneurial behaviour of rose growers.
