Water is a critical resource in agriculture & allied sector and it is estimated that globally, on average, agriculture accounts for 70 percent of global freshwater withdrawals. Consequently, the management of water in agriculture (irrigation) becomes important and in this context, programmes on irrigation and water conservation have been playing pivotal role. At present, this task at central level is performed by Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY). So, the research objective was formulated to study the socio-personal and communication characteristics of beneficiary farmers of PMKSY and it was undertaken during 2020-21. Uttarkashi and Dehradun districts were selected purposively and two blocks were selected in each district by simple random sampling. Three villages from each block and twenty farmers from each village were selected by following simple random sampling. Thus, the sample constituted to a total of 240 respondents. The findings revealed that majority (35.84%) of beneficiary farmers belonged for middle age group, more than two-fifth (40.00%) of the beneficiary farmers had education up to intermediate, almost two-fifth (39.17%) of the beneficiary farmers had medium farm, nearly half (49.59%) of the beneficiary farmers had medium farming experience. Moreover, beneficiary farmers (100.00%) had agriculture as their primary occupation, half (50.83%) of the beneficiary farmers had medium extension contact, more than half (56.67%) had medium level of mass media exposure followed, three-fifth (61.25%) beneficiary farmers had high innovativeness, 51.67 per cent PMKSY beneficiary farmers had low level of training exposure, majority (47.50%) had low social participation, 60.83 per cent beneficiary farmers had medium achievement motivation, majority (67.50%) had medium scientific orientation and majority (66.67%) of beneficiary farmers belonged to medium risk preference group. Interventions on focusing on small and marginal farmers, providing more trainings, improving extension contacts and social participation were suggested as the suitable measures for success of micro irrigation under PMKSY.

The research study was conducted in Dharwad district during 2013-14, with a sample size of 120, farmers were randomly selected from three taluks viz, Hubli, Dharwad and Kalagatagi. The results revealed that 37.50 per cent of the respondents belonged to medium entrepreneurial behaviour category, whereas, 32.50 per cent and 30 per cent belonged to low and high entrepreneurial behaviour category respectively. Further, entrepreneurial behavioural characteristics such as innovativeness was medium (38.33%) in rose growers 45 per cent of rose growers had medium achievement motivation, 40 per cent of the respondents belonged to medium economic motivation category, 46.66 per cent of the rose growers belonged to intermediate decision making ability category, 42.50 per cent of the rose growers and 42.22 per cent of other farmers had medium risk orientation, 44.16 per cent of the rose growers belonged to medium level leadership ability category. The characteristics such as education, annual income, mass media exposure, extension contact, were positive and significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour at 1% and scientific orientation and family size were positive and significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour. The variables such as age and land holding were not significantly related with entrepreneurial behaviour of rose growers.

The present study was aimed at determining the constraints confronted by the farmers in livelihood diversification. The purposes of this study were to determine the extent and nature of livelihood diversification of the farmers and also to explore relationships of 13 selected characteristics of the farmers with their livelihood diversification. There were a total of 1270 farmers in the 5 villages constituted the population of the study, out of which 10 percent of the total farmers were selected through simple random sampling technique. This gave a sample size of 127 such farmers. Data were collected by the researcher himself with the help of pre-tested interview schedule during 15 February 2013 to 30 March, 2013. The livelihood diversification scores of the respondents ranged from 0.22 to 0.79 with an average of 0.41. It is seen that more than half of the farmers 53.5% had medium level of livelihood diversification compared to 19.7 percent of them having low livelihood diversification and 26.8 percent had high livelihood. Out of 13 selected characteristics of the farmers, seven of those viz. education, family education, income generating experience, household annual income, communication exposure, organizational participation and attitude towards livelihood diversification had positive significant relationship with livelihood diversification. The study was conducted among dry land farmers of Pudukkottai district in Tamil Nadu. Using random sampling method 80 respondents were selected and data was collected through pre-tested interview schedule. Adoption index was used to quantify the selected In-Situ Water Conservation (ISWC) practices. The study examined the level of awareness and extent of adoption of In-Situ Water Conservation (ISWC) practices among dry land farmers. The results showed that among the eight selected practices, respondents had cent percent awareness about summer plough, land leveling and ridges and furrows. Majority of respondents had medium level (76.20%) of adoption of ISWC practices respectively. The study reveals that most of the respondents followed more than two ISWC practices on their farms to conserve the rainwater.

The research is aimed at determine the  relationship of  achievement motivation and assesment towards the guidance for teacher’s professionalism on the teacher’s teaching ability. The research was done in Ngemplak, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The number of population is all elementary school teachers, while the number of the samples is 50 teachers taken using simple random sampling. The instruments used were: (1) observation checklist for getting the data of teacher’s teaching ability, and (2) questionnaires for achievement motivation and assesment towards the guidance for teacher’s professionalism. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using simple and multiple correlation and regression.  The result showed that: there is a positive correlation between achievement motivation (X1) and assessment towards the guidance for teacher’s professionalism (X2) simultaneously and teacher’s teaching ability (Y), (ry12 =0.62 and r2 =0,38 ). Based on the results, it can be stated that the ability of teachers can be improved by improving achievement motivation and developing the assessment of the professional teachers.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis besarnya pengaruh budaya organisasi, penghargaan dan kepercayaan terhadap motivasi berprestasi pegawai dinas pendidikan pemuda dan olahraga Kabupaten Rokan Hulu. Survei dilakukan terhadap 75 orang pegawai yang dijadikan sampel penelitian dengan teknik simple random sampling. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) budaya organisasi berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap motivasi berprestasi, (2) penghargaan berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap motivasi berprestasi, (3) kepercayaan berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap motivasi berprestasi, (4) budaya organisasi berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap kepercayaan, (5) penghargaan berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap kepercayaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi pegawai dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan budaya organisasi, penghargaan dan kepercayaan. The survey was conducted on 75 employees. Sample was taken by simple Random Sampling Technique. Data analysis was done by path analysis. The results showed that: 1) Organizational culture has a direct positive effect toward achievement motivation, (2) The reward has a direct positive effect toward achievement motivation, (3) Trust has a direct positive effect toward achievement motivation, (4) Organizational culture has a direct positive effect toward the trust, (5) Reward has a positive direct effect toward the trust. Based on the research results could be concluded that to improve employees’ achievement motivation could be done by improving organizational culture, appreciation, and trust. Meanwhile, to increase the confidence of employees could be done by improving the organizational culture and appreciation.Keywords: organizational culture, reward, trust, achievement motivation

Hasil studi pendahuluan di Akademi Kebidanan Bogor Husada, ditemukan masalah rendahnya prestasi mahasiswa terbukti dari index prestasi lulusan tahun 2014 (IPK<2,75=37,37%), (IPK2,75-3,50=60,61%), (IPK>3,50=2,02%), diduga karena rendahnya motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan program Achievement Motivation Training signifikan meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi. Guna mengatasi masalah tersebut perlu dilakukan penelitian apakah program Achievement Motivation Training dapat meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa. Rancangan penelitian, quasi experiment dengan pre-post control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Akademi Kebidanan Bogor Husada. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Jumlah sampel 56 mahasiswa terdiri dari 28 mahasiswa pada grup kontrol dan 28 mahasiswa pada grup perlakuan. Analisis menggunakan uji t berpasangan, t tidak berpasangan, uji Mann-Whitney, dan uji Anakova.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna (p<0,05) motivasi berprestasi antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan, terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna pada aspek motivasi berprestasi moderate task difficulty (p<0,05), persistent (p<0,05), feedback (p<0,05), responsibility (p<0,05) dan innovativeness (p<0,05).Simpulan hasil penelitian, program achievement motivation training meningkatkan rerata motivasi berprestasi dan aspek motivasi berprestasi pada aspek moderate task difficulty, persistent, feedback, responsibility dan innovativeness.

The present study on extent of adoption of chilli growers was conducted in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh covering one block. A total of 120 respondents were selected by simple random sampling method from six randomly selected villages. Pre-tested well structured interview schedule was used for collecting the relevant information’s. The study inferred that majority of the respondents were of middle aged, belonged to medium size of family, other backward class, illiterate, having low annual income between Rs. 35,001 to 60,000,no membership in any organization indicating poor social participation and farming (chilli cultivation) as the main occupation. Most of the respondents were having medium level of knowledge have medium level of adoption. It was found that villagers do not get other vegetable for their commercial income, through chilli they at least filling this gap of income, although they are producing chilli at low level. Majority of the respondents reported that reasons of adoption of this crop due to chilli needs, less hard work with high benefits and income and it is good for soil also.

AbstractThis article aims to discuss the effect of economic civil servant teachers' achievement motivation to the organizational commitment in Jakarta High Schools. All this time, Commitment is always associated with motivation. Organisational commitment is a picture of an individual who identifies with the organisation and has a common goal. Organisational commitment does not come by itself but is influenced by factors such as motivation. Therefore, it becomes vital to examine further the effect of motivation, in this case, the achievement motivation of teachers concerning organisational commitment. This study applied quantitative research design with survey methods while employing a path analysis model to analyse the data. A total of 200 economic teachers from the Municipality of East Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands District joined this study. Sampling in this study was chosen by (simple random sampling) of the population. This study found that based on the results of the analysis and testing of the hypothesis, it can be found that achievement motivation has given a direct positive effect to organizational commitment. Based on this empirical evidence, it can be seen that this finding shows that achievement motivation is one of the variables that have a direct positive effect on organisational commitment.   AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas pengaruh motivasi berprestasi guru PNS bidang ekonomi terhadap komitmen organisasi di SMA Negeri Jakarta. Selama ini Komitmen selalu dikaitkan dengan motivasi. Komitmen organisasi merupakan gambaran individu yang mengidentifikasikan diri dengan organisasi dan memiliki tujuan yang sama. Komitmen organisasi tidak datang dengan sendirinya tetapi dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti motivasi. Oleh karena itu, menjadi penting untuk mengkaji lebih jauh pengaruh motivasi dalam hal ini prestasi belajar guru terhadap komitmen organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei dengan menggunakan model analisis jalur untuk menganalisis data. Studi ini diikuti oleh 200 guru ekonomi dari Kota Jakarta Timur, Jakarta Pusat, Jakarta Barat, Jakarta Selatan, dan Kabupaten Kepulauan Seribu. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dipilih dengan (simple random sampling) dari populasi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pengujian hipotesis diketahui bahwa motivasi berprestasi berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap komitmen organisasi. This research was done because of phenomenon of the students’ low motivation to get the achievement at school. Social support have a correlation for creating the students’ potential giftedness to get an achievement in learning. The role of the teachers, especially the teachers of guidance and counseling are needed in improving the students’ achievement at school in order to improve their learning achievement. This research has purpose to find the social support and achievement motivation of SMPN Kecamatan Batang Kapas Pesisir Selatan. This research used correlational approach which has purpose to know how is the contribution among the research variables. The population of the research is the students of SMPN Kecamatan Batang Kapas Pesisir Selatan. The amount of the population was 601 students. The sample of this research was 240 students. It had been taken by using simple random sampling technique. The instruments used in the form of scale. The data was analyzed by using descriptive technique and the hypothesis testing was done by using korelasional. The result shows that: (1) social support is in the enough category, (2) students’ achievement motivation is in the enough category, (4) the contribution of social support through the students’ achievement motivation is about 20.2%.  The above findings imply that social support have contributed to students achievement motivation. Needs to be done similar studies were suggested to conduct at different contexts to compare the findings.

This study aims to analyze the correlation of risk with the marketing profit of coconut products in Kendari City This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods (deviation standard and probability). The populations of this research are all sellers of grated coconut, young coconut dan young coconut ice in Kendari City. Determination of sample for seller of coconut shredded using simple random sampling, while for seller of young coconut dan young coconut ice by using census. The results of this study are grated coconut products in the normal and surplus sales period have a medium risk level, and critical sales period has a high risk. Young coconut dan young coconut ice in normal and high sales periods have low risk, and in critical sales periods have a medium risk. The correlation of risk and the marketing profit level of coconut products is that high level of risk followed by a low marketing profit, conversely low risk level followed by high marketing profits.
