The article discusses in detail the stages of development, formation and the current state of the botanical garden of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University as one of the educational and scientific bases for the training of university biologists and the center for the introduction of useful and rare plants. Concrete measures are proposed to raise the status, significance and efficiency of using the biological garden in the structure of the Scientific and Educational Center «Botanical Garden» of the KBSU.

Data on the collection of rare plant species of natural flora of Ukraine of the O. V. Fomin Botanical Gar- den of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv are presented. The history of its origin and development and the problematic issues of its further existence are characterized. Data on the inventory of the part of the collection related to perennials, as well as the introduction of new species from the Northern Prychornomor’ya, Pryazov’ya, Middle-Russian Upland are given. 89 species have been marked within the area of rare perennial herbaceous plants. During the last 3 years the collection was enriched with 17 new species, included in the Red Data Book of Ukraine, populations of 13 rare taxa were restored and increased in size.

An annotated checklist of the spontaneous component of the flora of the Botanical garden of Kurgan University is presented, which included 559 species and 7 nototypes from 323 genera and 81 families, which is 66.7 % of the flora of Kurgan. For each taxon, the status of its inclusion in the flora is given (native or adventive on the territory of the Southern Trans-Urals), briefly indicated: life form, type of area, ecological and phytocenotic characteristics. When characterizing aboriginal species, the summary indicates their ability to settle in secondary habitats (from species incapable of weed and occasional apophytes that are not resistant in secondary habitats to apophytes that are resistant in secondary habitats). Of the plants of the natural flora growing on the territory of the Botanical Garden, 156 species (27.6 % of the list) do not weed and are found in areas occupied by natural vegetation. Of the plants of the natural flora growing on the territory of the Botanical Garden, 156 species (27.6 % of the list) do not weed and are found in areas occupied by natural vegetation. Of the plants of the natural flora growing on the territory of the Botanical Garden, 156 species (27.6 % of the list) do not weed and are found in areas occupied by natural vegetation. Rarely observed on ruderal and segetal habitats of 133 species (23.5 %) (unstable apophytes); are regularly observed in secondary habitats of 127 species (22.4 %) (resistant apophytes). Of the 140 species introduced by man, 6 species (1.0 %) were recorded on the territory under consideration once and, possibly, dropped out of the flora (they can be classified as ephemerophytes); 63 epecophytes (11.1 %) are species that are stably observed only in secondary habitats, and 73 agriophytes (12.9 %) are invading natural communities.

The article presents the results of studying the diversity of pear rootstock forms in terms of yield and seed productivity. The research was carried out at the experimental sites of the Orenburg Experimental Station of Horticulture and Viticulture of AllRussian Horticultural Institute for Breeding, Agrotechnology and Nursery and the Botanical Garden of the Orenburg State University in 2017-2019, in typical soil and climatic conditions of the Orenburg city. The purpose of the study is to identify pear rootstock forms characterized by high yield and stable seed productivity for use in the future as a seed rootstock. During the research, 15 pear accessions were studied; the planting scheme was 6x4 m. As a result of research, it was found that the rootstock form Temno-zelenaya is characterized by a high yield (40 kg/tree). High seed productivity of more than 6 seeds in one fruit was observed in samples: Vernaya (6.0-6.5 pcs.), SK-1, SK-3 (6.1-7.8 pcs.), SK-2 (7.0-7.5 pcs.), Chang Bai Li (7.4-7.7 pcs.), Semennaya 214 (7.5-7.8 pcs.). It was revealed that the Xiao he Bai Li variety is characterized by the maximum weight of 1000 seeds (65.2 g). Analysis of accessions by seed yield established that a consistently high yield is observed in the varieties Chang Bai Li (2.5-4.2 %), Vernaya (3.96-4.18 %) and forms SK-1 (2.0-3.25%), SK-2 (2.25-2.75 %), SK-3 (1.43-4.0 %). Pear rootstock forms Chang Bai Li, Vernaya, Semennaya 214, SK-1, SK-2, SK-3 were identifi ed, which can be recommended for production testing as seed pear rootstocks for the conditions of the steppe zone of the Southern Urals.

Diabetes mellitus is a complex disease that leads to long-term damage to various organ systems. Among the numerous cardiovascular disease-related complications, thrombotic events frequently occur in patients with diabetes. Although guidelines exist for treating and preventing most diabetes-related co-morbidities, the evidence on antithrombotic therapy in primary and secondary prevention is limited due to the scarcity of randomized trials dedicated to patients with diabetes mellitus. Most of the available data are derived from studies that only included a small proportion of patients with diabetes. The present review provides an overview of the status of knowledge on antiplatelet and anticoagulation therapy in patients with diabetes, focusing on the risk–benefit balance of these therapies and future treatment strategies.

Purpose – This paper aims to review the four elements of Library 2.0, which represents a major innovation, and adopts several pedagogical concepts to investigate other innovations libraries in Taiwan could implement to become ideal libraries. Design/methodology/approach – This paper presents an overview of the essential principles of Library 2.0 and examines the current state of libraries in Taiwan. The authors then present a reciprocal feedback model of Library 2.0+. Findings – A Library 2.0+ model and a concept map of the mutualism between e-learning education and Library 2.0+ were proposed to diminish the gap between the status quo and Library 2.0. Two recommendations are provided: to develop a library learning platform to maximize the education value of the library, and to regard library development as part of the overall community’s development. Users can access library resources anytime/anywhere by visiting the library learning platform without visiting the library. Allowing an individual approach is necessary to realize the social educational value of the library. Moreover, a Library 2.0 library engages more in community development and invites participation with participation in community first. Universities in the community would be good technology partners when developing a Library 2.0 library. Originality/value – Although there has been extensive research of library development in view of Library 2.0, such a topic has never been explored with an educational perspective, especially an e-learning perspective. Given that the definition of Library 2.0 is abstract and fairly broad, the authors take the view of an e-learning platform to make Library 2.0 more figurative. Moreover, through interdisciplinary exploration, concrete suggestions regarding library development are provided to librarians, especially those with similar conditions as those in Taiwan.
