AbstractBecause youth with disabilities participate less in physical activity than young people without disabilities and that schools play an important role in adopting a healthy lifestyle, it is important to deepen our understanding of the elements that foster participation of young people with disabilities in physical activity. The objective of this research is twofold: 1) establish the determinants of participation of youth with disabilities in physical education according to practitioners and 2) document the effects of an initiation and competition program for youth with disabilities on their physical activity. The collection of data using semi-structured interviews was conducted in two phases. The first, among teachers and school-based practitioners (n = 18), aimed to understand their experiences relating to the adoption of healthy lifestyles among their students with disabilities. As for the second, practitioners (n = 12) were interviewed during organized adapted sporting events. Analysis of the interviews shows two categories of determinants, namely determinants relating to school (winning conditions of the environment, the importance of extracurricular activities, and obstacles) as well as determinants relating to the professional competence of teachers (the role of teachers, collaboration between professionals, the benefits of sport and physical activity and obstacles encountered).

Education plays a very important role in the process of improving the quality of human resources and is a process that is integrated with the process of improving the quality of human resources themselves. For this reason, the government implements School-Based Management which involves relevant stakeholders, especially the community. This study aims to find out and analyze the collaboration of the Committee (community) with the Head of Madrasa in terms of improving the quality of education at Madrasa Aliyah Negeri in Banda Aceh City. Data collection in this study was conducted by interview, documentation, and observation. While the results of this study are the authors find that the Cooperation Committee and the Head of MAN in Banda Aceh City have been carried out in the form of partnerships that synergize and mutually understand the roles and functions of each institution in order to improve the quality of Madrasah education, this is clearly seen by the implementation of the boarding school program, student creativity activities, extracurricular activities and also academic achievement of students who continue to increase along with the increasing intensity of collaboration of the committee and the head of the Madrasah as a whole in all aspects that include learning activities, facilities, infrastructure, and technical education materially and non materially, so that it gives a significant influence on the quality of education at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Banda Aceh City.

AbstractThis article aims to determine the model of penetration of character for students of high school based on religious  education  developed  in  SMAN  9  Bandar  Lampung. This is a qualitative research backed by quantitative data  to  refine  the  analysis.  The  data  was  collected  interviews, observation, document analysis, and dissemination of questionnaire. The respondents consisted of principals, teachers  of  religion  studies  (Islam,  Christianity,  Catholicism,  Hinduism  and  Buddhism),  as  well  as  students  and school committee. The results showed that the model of penetration of character for high school students based on  religious  education  in  intra-curricular  activities  was done by inserting some hidden activities in the form of integration in all subjects and internalizing the concepts before lessons by citing verses of the Koran / reading the bible / praying for 15 minutes, while in extracurricular activities it was done by creating a conducive and religious environment,  distributing  pamphlets  /  leaflets  /  banners containing moral messages in strategic locations, making strict school discipline program to support the formation of character and celebrating festive holidays. It was concluded that SMA 9 Bandar Lampung is one of the schools that develop models for penetrating character values  through religious education.AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model penanaman nilai-nilai karakter siswa SMA berbasis pendidikan agama yang dikembangkan di SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. Pendekatan penelitian ini kualitatif yang didukung data-data kuantitatif untuk mempertajam analisis. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, telaah dokumen, dan penyebaran angket. Responden terdiri atas pimpinan sekolah, para guru agama (Islam, Kristen, Katolik, Hindu dan Budha), serta  siswa  dan  komite  sekolah.  Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model penanaman nilai-nilai karakter siswa SMA berbasis pendidikan agama pada kegiatan intrakurikuler yaitu dengan menyisipkan beberapa kegiatan hidden curricullum berupa pengintegrasian pada semua mata pelajaran dan menginternalisasikan konsep sebelum mata pelajaran dimulai dengan membaca ayat pendek/membaca kitab/berdoa selama 15 menit. Sedangkan pada kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dengan menciptakan lingkungan yang kondusif dan agamis, pemasangan  pamflet/leaflet/spanduk  yang  berisi tulisan pesan-pesan moral di setiap tempat yang strategis, membuat aturan-aturan dan tata tertib sekolah yang tegas demi mendukung program pembentukan karakter serta melakukan perayaan hari-hari besar agama. Disimpulkan bahwa SMA 9 Bandar Lampung merupakan salah satu sekolah yang mengembangkan model penanaman nilainilai karakter lewat pendidikan agama.

Abstract: In many forms of bullying, a phenomenon in Indonesia increasingly lively happening, especially in education field. The concept of peace education is considered capable of being an alternative effort minimize violent acts. SD Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu is one of basic education institution focusing on the Islamic learning, mutual respect, tolerance and a sense of camaraderie in the absence of violence (Islamic Peace Education). The application of the model of Islamic peace education elementary school-based learning in the form of Islam that all activities in the school child is packed in a single education system. This research aims to find out and analyze design models of Islamic peace education in SD Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu while implementation as well as the supporting factors and constraints that exist. The approach considered suitable for this type of research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research obtained information that the design model of Islamic peace education applied in SD Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu is a result of the integration between education curriculum 2013 Kemdikbud with Kemenag RI packed in learning Islamic-based elementary school. Implementation of the model is carried out through three main activities, namely intracurricular, cocurricular and extracurricular activities with an example approach and conditioning as well as insightful integrative inclusive. Implementation in the form of activity planning, implementation and evaluation. As for the existing constituents include good cooperation among school with the Foundation or caregivers and surrounding communities. While the constraints faced by the inadequate quality of human resources are owned by the school and also the limitations of existing education facilities. <p>This research aims to find out the scouting extracurricular activities for character education in discipline at Zaid Bin Thabit SMPIT Bogor. The formation of this character is very important, education in Indonesia must have the development of the potential of students to become human beings who believe and obey God Almighty, have good character, have good knowledge, are creative, independent, disciplined and become citizens who are democratic and responsible, and one of the activities that is able to change it is scouting extracurricular activities. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with 30 respondents in eighth grade. Data collection is done through interviews, observations, and documents. Data analysis technique is done by presenting data, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that character education can be obtained namely, the accuracy of program targets, program implementation, and program monitoring in scouting extracurricular activities for disciplined character education. More than half of the students enjoyed participating in scouting activities, and stated that scouting activities needed to be carried out at school. Based on this research, scouting activities can be an alternative in discipline character education.</p><p><strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p class="16bIsiAbstrak">Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler kepramukaan terhadap pendidikan karakter dalam kedisplinan di SMPIT Zaid Bin Tsabit Bogor. Pembentukan karakter ini sangat penting, pendidikan di Indonesia harus memiliki perkembangan potensi peserta didik agar menjadi manusia yang beriman dani bertaqwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, berakhlak mulia, berilmu cakap, kreatif, mandiri, disiplin dan menjadi warga negara yangi demokratis serta bertanggung jawab, dan salah satu kegiatan yang mampu merubahnya adalah kegiatan ekstrakurikuler kepramukaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penilitian ini adalah metode diskriptif kualitatif dengan responden sebanyak 30 orang pada kelas delapan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumen. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan penyajian data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter dapat diperoleh yakni, ketepatan sasaran program, pelaksanaan program, dan pemantauan program dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler kepramukaan terhadap pendidikan karakter kedisiplinan. Lebih dari setengahnya siswa senang mengikuti kegiatan kepramukaan, dan menyatakan bahwa kegiatan kepramukaan perlu dilaksanakan di sekolah. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, kegiatan kepramukaan dapat menjadi alternatif dalam pendidikan karakter kedisiplinan.</p>

School-based discipline can negatively shape the educational outcomes of students, particularly for racial and ethnic minorities. Because racial and ethnic minority youth are at risk for educational failure and marginalized within schools, academic and sport extracurricular activities are often presented as a means to ameliorate educational risk factors. Little is known, however, about the relationship between involvement in these activities and school-based discipline, particularly for racial and ethnic minority youth. This study uses data from the Education Longitudinal Study of 2002 and incorporates multilevel modeling techniques to examine whether the relationship between academic and sport extracurricular activities, misbehavior, and school-based discipline varies by race and ethnicity. This study suggests that while academic and sport extracurricular activities reduce the likelihood of school-based discipline for White students, the relationships for racial and ethnic minority are complex. The implications of the racial and ethnic disparity in school-based discipline in the United States are discussed.
