Every institution has its own way or method of applying character education where the lessons of values, ethics, morals and religious teachings are the main focus. The boarding school has a different educational pattern than the one in general. At the Alimussirry World Boarding School, students have a set of rules that are used in practice in the daily schedule of students. The daily schedule of activities was a means of implementing the practice for the students under the supervision of the lodge managers. All activities have different areas of management to assist and supervise studentsCharacter education is not just about the young budding education process that is tapping into the formation of the school, it is also about the individual within the educational institution. Basically, in order to be a responsible individual in society, each individual must develop a wide range of potentials within himself, especially promoting morals that will serve as a guide for their role models within the institution.

We address the interplay of few lattice trapped bosons interacting with an impurity atom in a box potential. For the ground state, a classification is performed based on the fidelity allowing to quantify the susceptibility of the composite system to structural changes due to the intercomponent coupling. We analyze the overall response at the many-body level and contrast it to the single-particle level. By inspecting different entropy measures we capture the degree of entanglement and intraspecies correlations for a wide range of intra- and intercomponent interactions and lattice depths. We also spatially resolve the imprint of the entanglement on the one- and two-body density distributions showcasing that it accelerates the phase separation process or acts against spatial localization for repulsive and attractive intercomponent interactions, respectively. The many-body effects on the tunneling dynamics of the individual components, resulting from their counterflow, are also discussed. The tunneling period of the impurity is very sensitive to the value of the impurity-medium coupling due to its effective dressing by the few-body medium. Our work provides implications for engineering localized structures in correlated impurity settings using species selective optical potentials.

As an old legacy, the function of the mosque in Minangkabau has gradually developed. At first surau functioned as a place for traditional ceremonies, then developed into a place of worship and gathering of young people to learn various knowledge and skills. In addition, adult men who are not married or who have been widowers make surau as a place to rest at night. This means that the mosque at that time had a dual role, in addition to being an educational institution as well as a social institution. During a time of change, the education system does not only provide a study of the Qur'an and the study of books and orders. But it has been added to the teaching of a number of religious literature such as the book of jurisprudence, nahwu, sharaf and Sufism. Judging from the history of the emergence of pesantren and madrasa in Indonesia, pesantren first appeared compared to madrasa. This means that the education process in pesantren can be said to be the parent of the current developing education process. From the beginning, the more dominant pesantren curriculum was related to religious lessons sourced from Arabic yellow books. Whereas general lessons are hardly studied at all. But along with the demands of the times, there are already some pesantren that incorporate general lessons into their curriculum, so that modern pesantren are born which seek to integrate religious and general knowledge into their curriculum. In addition, the pesantren curriculum also seeks to equip its students with various life skills as capital to enter the community after they have completed their education at the pesantren. The role and existence of the surau and Islamic boarding school as one of the original Indonesian community development institutions must indeed be preserved and monitored for its development, because the presence of the surau and Islamic boarding school in the midst of the community is in addition to empowering the community as well as a forum to prepare capable Ulama cadres mastering and understanding the Qur'an and al-Hadith properly and correctly and in accordance with the needs of the community. Keywords: Surau, Islamic Boarding School, Islamic Community Development.

AbstractThis paper is a critical reflection on radicalism phenomenon which emerges at the heart of Islamic education, especially at Madrasah and Islamic boarding school, which is enhanced more by its development at schools and campus. This educational institution is chosen since it it at this place the character development is begun as a cadre forming facility. The aspiration of radical Islamic group is to change a state, replace its basis as well as its law. The emerge of this radicalism has shifted Islam in Indonesia, i.e. from the one dominated by moderate-ism to radicalism. Islamic education as a people liberation facility is faced against a challenge on how to develop a moderate religious consciousness so in turn among the people will grow an inclusive understanding

The need for self-education is becoming more common in the information society. Moreover, this form of education becomes a continuous process, since knowledge is an inexhaustible resource. Self-education is a form of individual activity of a person motivated by his own professional and personal needs and interests and aimed at acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities and improving them. The main feature of this type of activity is the absence of an educational institution and a training person, freedom of choice. With the advent of the information technology age, self-education is becoming increasingly popular. As many researchers note, this trend is due, first, to global changes associated with the transition from a post-industrial to an information society, which assumes the work of a person with information as the leading type of activity. Secondly, for modern market relations, the value of self-education is manifested in the fact that it acts as an instrument of social mobility. Third, self-education becomes one of the priority elements of the lifestyle of a number of social groups, contributing to the change of their place and role in the social structure of society. And, finally, self-education is one of the main factors and indicators of the improvement of the individual, and, consequently, of society. Based on this, self - education acts, on the one hand, as an integral part of self-education, self-improvement of the individual, and on the other-as the main method of continuing education, a means of continuous education. The article presents the results of a study conducted using the Stephenson method, which involved 20 respondents (10m+10j) aged 18 to 35 years. The purpose of the study was to identify the opinions of young people regarding the characteristics of self-education in the information society. Of the 30 statements submitted that reflected these traits, respondents were asked to express their agreement or disagreement with them using a scale from -2 to +2.

Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Pesantren, Perubahan Nilai Religius   Abstract: This research is a theoretical study of Islamic boarding school education as the oldest Islamic educational institution in Indonesia that has contributed a lot in the social change of the nation's life through the cultivation of religious values, as contained in the national educational goals of nobility, good deeds, daily religious, independence, spiritual health and community responsibility. This makes the boarding school education able to control changes in values in life. Some opinions say that there are five components of the boarding school to be called as boarding school, among others: there are teacher of Islam, cottage, mosques, strict adherent of Islam and yellow book teaching (classical). The five components are a unit that cannot be separated from boarding school education. In this case the writer will explain how the boarding school education process in changing and instill values to the strict adherent of Islam.   Keywords: Islamic Boarding School Education, Change in Religious Value

The article researches the functions and tasks of legal custom based on historical experience and the current state of legal life. The view represents that law and culture functions are realized through legal custom, as it is an important element of these phenomena. At the same time, it is noted that legal custom is characterized by a separate catalog of functions and tasks that need to be studied. Theregulatory, explanatory, protective, defensive, inflectional, reconstitutive, ideological-educative, identification-communicative, antimonopoly, and legal-resource functions of legal custom are analyzed. The administrative and organizational components of the regulatoryfunction of legal custom are highlighted. The preventive and restrictive components of the protective function of legal custom are cha -racterized. It is substantiated that these functions are inextricably linked with the tasks of legal custom.Based on the analyzed functions, the following tasks of a legal custom are allocated: the legal regulation of social relations; cla -rification of provisions of the legislation, acts of law enforcement, texts of agreements, terms and symbolic actions; legal protection ofpublic goods and values; providing opportunities to protect rights and freedoms; stabilization of the legal system, its protection fromill-considered and risky transformations; reproduction of the acquired legal experience in new conditions; ensuring the flexibility of thelegal system; influence on the worldview of the individual and society in general; determining the affiliation of the subject to a parti -cular community and maintaining communication between its members; prevention of monopoly in the legal system of a normativelegal act or other sources of law; formation of material for the systematization of law.It is argued that legal custom, as a social phenomenon, evolving in the process of history, performed a wide range of functionsthat correlated with its tasks. Not every period, people, or locality is characterized by a full set of analyzed functions and tasks, but itis worth noting the possibility of their implementation by the legal custom in general, as evidenced by past experience and the currentstate of legal relations. The results of the research, on the one hand, complement the understanding of the nature of legal custom, andon the other – prove the feasibility of further use of this source of law in modern legal systems.

AbstractInforming citizens about scientific issues in our highly technological world is of major importance. Toward this end, a teaching/learning sequence (TLS) focused on the nanostructures of carbon was developed and implemented in a class of secondary school students. This topic was chosen because, on the one hand, fullerenes and nanotubes are already used in a wide range of applications, and there are impressive promises for their future uses. On the other hand, from an educational point of view, students could be introduced to the important idea that some of the interesting properties at the nanoscale level are related to the structure of matter. During the development of the TLS, the fact that students would be studying extremely small-sized particles invisible to the naked eye was taken into consideration. Because of this, models and analogies were chosen as the main teaching tools to be used. In the present work, the TLS and some findings from the first implementation in the classroom are presented and discussed.

Pesantren is an Islamic educational institution that aims to develop students into generations who have high knowledge and are able to carry out Islamic aqeedah and sharia, but in the environment of Islamic boarding schools are still often found negative behaviors such as aggressive behavior committed by teenage students. This is because teenagers are often less able to control emotions. One factor the cause of the emergence of aggressive behavior is the low level of emotional intelligence. Individuals who have low emotional intelligence tend to be aggressive. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior in Islamic boarding school students. The subjects in this study were eighth grade Muslim students of MTs who lived in the Al-Fatah Islamic Boarding School dormitory in 2018/2019, totaling 60 students taken with total sampling techniques. The method of data collection in this study uses two psychological scales namely the aggressive behavior scale of 24 items (α = 0.881) and the emotional intelligence scale of 26 items (α = 0.933). Data that has been collected later analyzed using the product moment correlation analysis technique which is assisted with SPSS 21.0 for Windows. The results showed rxy = -0,454 with p = 0,000 (p <0.01), this indicates that there is a significant and negative relationship between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior in Al-Fatah Islamic boarding school students so that the hypothesis is accepted, the lower the emotional intelligence owned by students, students tend to have high aggressive behavior and vice versa with an effective contribution of 20.6% which is influenced by the independent variables in this study and 79.4% are influenced by variables outside the study.
