This issue brings ten papers by authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, South Korea, Serbia, Spain and Turkey. Regarding the categorisation of the papers, this time we present four original research papers, three preliminary communications and three review papers. As previously, the featured papers advocate the thematic diversity of the concerns in the field of education. Furthermore, the papers present innovative, creative and multidisciplinary approaches to researching the issues of education. Through the research results and their interpretation, the presented works offer scientific explanations and understandings as well as predictions and control of the research phenomena in the field of education. Thereby we further develop the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary direction of the Croatian Journal of Education. In this regard, we still wish you much success in your creative and innovative scientific projects, and we are looking forward to many more of your high-quality papers in 2021. Time i dalje razvijamo interdisciplinarnost i multidisciplinarnost Hrvatskog časopisa za odgoj i obrazovanje.

Biodiversity is the natural heritage of the planet and is one of the key factors of sustainable development, due to its importance not only for the environmental aspects of sustainability but also for the social and economic ones. The purpose of this Special Issue is to publish high-quality research papers addressing recent progress and perspectives while focusing on different aspects related to the biodiversity of vegetable crops. Original, high-quality contributions that have not yet been published, or that are not currently under review by other journals, have been gathered. A broad range of aspects such as genetic, crop production, environments, customs and traditions were covered. All contributions are of significant relevance and could stimulate further research in this area.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyse the early days of marketing education by observing the first “Marketing” subject in Australia, which was taught at the University of Melbourne, and comparing elements of the early subject to the introductory Marketing subject of today. Design/methodology/approach The information used for this study was obtained from material in the University of Melbourne Archives, including calendar entries, subject descriptions, and university announcements, as well as from interviews and correspondence with various people including those in academic and administrative positions, and former students. Findings The origins of university-level marketing education in Australia can be seen to have been shaped by several influences, including: the external environment of the country at that time; the areas of interest of academic staff; the availability of teaching material – textbooks, academic articles, appropriate case studies, academic research papers, etc.; the academic staff and teaching materials from the USA; and the extent to which the supporting technology of marketing had changed. Practical implications By observing the development in marketing education over the years, from its beginnings in Australia at the University of Melbourne, this paper shows changes in the content which assists in the understanding of what has led to how marketing is taught in Australasian universities and colleges today. Originality/value Marketing education research usually focusses on what is happening at the moment, so the value of this study is that it is one of the few that looks at marketing education from a historical perspective.

Abstract Since 2004, more than 100,000 smoked paper seismograms have been preserved as high-definition image files in three academic institutes in Japan. Also, 27,000 analog records on 35 mm films of 0.6 m long were converted to tiff files in two institutes. In the process of scanning analog records, we have obtained several tips for the preservation of records. Some records were found and organized in their original places after decades of the archiving process. A few scientific findings for old earthquakes have been obtained using the image files of analog records. Our work induced another project of preserving smoked paper seismograms obtained by government operations in Japan by the same manner. To continue archiving data that are not immediately linked to an increase in the number of research papers at each institute, continuous support such as the international evaluation of the high quality of our archives is fairly important, along with our own ceaseless efforts. To not make future researchers struggle in the same way that we did, it is necessary to foster among seismologists the common traits of data preservation, which astronomers have shared since the sixteenth century.

Researchers need to formulate their achievements as research papers. Representative references are essential to high-quality papers. Academic citation recommendation refers to providing the recommendation of citations for the author of papers when they write. With the help of citation recommendation, researchers can improve the efficiency of writing academic papers and reduce the omission of important related literature. To achieve this goal, some methods were proposed. Many of them used citation networks to learn the representation of papers and chose references, they tended to ignore the content properties of papers. There are also some methods used partial properties to recommend citation. But their performance can be further improved. In this paper, we propose a citation recommendation method based on context correlation. We use two neural network models to learn the representations of papers and their references, then calculate the context similarity of them. Besides, we also introduce the publishing time and authority of papers, two key properties of papers for citation evaluation. In the experiment section, we compare our method with other methods and evaluate the performance of different properties choice in our method, it shows that our method outperforms some baselines and the combination of the dimensions including time, authority and context performs better.

This essay is a true working paper, a work-in-progress that raises a set of questions that I am not yet sure how to answer. The questions are not unknown; indeed, they lurk in the shadows of scholarly discourse on the three systems I will examine. They are, however, often ignored in research and commentary on the constitutional law, and they have never been the focus of comparative inquiry. I nonetheless will argue that the answers one gives to them will bear directly on how we should understand the nature, evolution, and political (i.e., normative) legitimacy of legal systems.
