The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial education. Data were collected with the help of a structure questionnaire; a total 595 responses were collected back. SmartPLS was used to test the hypothesized relationship. The findings showed that entrepreneurial intentions are strongly and positively related to entrepreneurial education.

Why an individual prefer to become an entrepreneur and what factor motivated his intentions for becoming an entrepreneur is considered important question in entrepreneurship research. Entrepreneurial education is considered an important variable which effect on entrepreneurial intentions. However, empirical research results on entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention yielded mixed results. To investigate further this question from developing countries perspective, this paper looks at the role of entrepreneurial education in developing the entrepreneurial intentions for becoming entrepreneur. The sample for this study composed of final year business students from Pakistan. The result of this study supports the entrepreneurial intentions model based on the theory of planned behavior. The results further suggested significant influence of entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intentions of the students. Moreover, this study results also showed that theoretical knowledge of entrepreneurship (know-what) and knowledge of social network development (know-who) component are vital for imparting entrepreneurial education.

Purpose Entrepreneurial intention plays a crucial role in the research and application of social entrepreneurship (SE). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of the factors affecting students’ intention towards social entrepreneurship (ISE). The study has taken entrepreneurial self-efficacy, along with entrepreneurial education, entrepreneurial network and perceived university support that have an impact on intentions, which instills interest amongst students in being future entrepreneurs. Design/methodology/approach Data were primarily taken from a survey of 380 university students from public and private universities in Chattogram, the business capital of Bangladesh. Students were preliminarily selected, focussing on different profiles such as male/female, age, socio-economic status, education level, university status and employment level. Initially, using factor analysis factors were analyzed and later multiple regression analysis was used to identify the relationship with ISE. Findings The study on the student reveals that four aspects significantly impacted the preference of students’ ISE. This study reinforces the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, along with entrepreneurial education, as the factors contributing to aid young graduates recognizing and fostering an ISE. Entrepreneurial networks and perceived university support were found to have no association with social entrepreneurial intentions. Originality/value This paper contributes to the understanding of the factors and provides a basis for explaining factors that affect the intention of students towards SE. It can contribute to future research related to social entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, it was concluded that forming social entrepreneurial intention is highly influenced by entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurship education.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the causal relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention among undergraduates. The paper investigates how the outcome of an effective entrepreneurial education system- attitude, skills and knowledge could affect the intentions of the students to choosing entrepreneurship as a career choice. The study was conducted in Enugu state, Nigeria among university undergraduates. A total of 250 students were engaged but only 196 valid responses were gathered. The structural model and the hypotheses were tested using partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) approach in SmartPLS M2.0 software. Our findings reveal that the proposed determinants all bear positive relationships with entrepreneurial intention in varying degrees. Also we found entrepreneurial knowledge to have a direct impact on entrepreneurial attitude. Managerial and practical implications were made as well as future research avenues suggested.

An extraordinary proliferation of entrepreneurship education programs has been underway in recent years. One of key purposes of entrepreneurship education is to foster entrepreneurial intention. So how to predict and interpret the process of entrepreneurial intention becomes a dominant topic in academia. Under related entrepreneurial and psychological theories, reasoning and reviewing related classical entrepreneurial intention models, this chapter analyzes the influencing factors and interacting effects and proposes a path-model of entrepreneurial intentions from combined perspectives of entrepreneurial motivation and cognition in order to reveal the underlying psychological mechanism of entrepreneurial intention. The chapter hopes to have added richness to ongoing further researches among academics and discussions among educators and policymakers regarding the importance of entrepreneurial intention in entrepreneurial education.

This research study identified the main areas related to entrepreneurship teacher education. The main objectives of the study were: (a) to identify the importance of entrepreneurship education for teacher education in Pakistan; (b) to identify the areas to prepare pre-service teachers for entrepreneurship education. The nature of study was descriptive while mixed method approach was used to gather information. Twelve teacher educators and eighty five prospective teachers were selected by using convenience sampling technique. ENVIVO-11 and SPSS were used to analyze qualitative and quantitative data. It was revealed that mostly interviewees agreed on entrepreneurial education should be made a part of national professional standards of teachers. Majority of the trainee teachers appreciated entrepreneurship education. Most of the respondents intervene about imparting and improving entrepreneurial education for prospective teachers’ course. Interviewees are appreciating this step of entrepreneurial intentions in prospective teachers’ course.

The questionnaire “Entrepreneurial Competence” (developed as part of the author’s dissertation) can be used in practice, but above all also for the measurement of entrepreneurial intentions and competence within (higher) education. Data were collected in two periods at both universities, OTH Regensburg and VŠTE Budweis, for the underlying descriptive evaluation in the field of higher education. This study provides information on the entrepreneurial environment, but also on the students’ entrepreneurial competence. At the two universities, 153 students have already taken part in an entrepreneurship course. The environment at both institutes is rated as above-average. The entrepreneurial intention is also clearly visible at the institutes and is significantly higher in the second survey. In the area of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, the second survey revealed higher levels than at the time of the first initial measurement. In order to be able to better adapt the teaching to the entrepreneurial intentions and entrepreneurial competence of students in the future, the increasing use of activating elements within entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship education is recommended. Planning, role-play, case studies and project work, for instance, contribute to the targeted, group-specific and differentiated competence-based promotion of potential entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs. To achieve this, the initial measurement of entrepreneurial intentions and entrepreneurial competence is therefore essential.

Purpose This paper, in light of the theory of planned behavior, aims to analyze the factors that have an impact on entrepreneurial intentions among students in Kosovo. Design/methodology/approach A structured questionnaire is administered online for data collection, and the analysis is conducted using structural equation modeling. Findings The authors find that in the context of Kosovo, personal attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control significantly impact entrepreneurial intention among students. However, the entrepreneurial education survey respondents received was unrelated to entrepreneurial intention of students in Kosovo. Originality/value The authors contribute to the literature regarding the role of entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intention among students and graduates. In addition, the authors provide new evidence regarding the impact of personal attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control on entrepreneurial intention in the context of a transition economy. Finally, the authors offer recommendations to educational institutions and policymakers concerning the appropriate design of entrepreneurial education.

PurposeResearchers have been trying to identify different psychological attributes which influence entrepreneurial intention (EI) and role of entrepreneurial education and training programs to develop these attributes among women. Therefore, the purpose of this study is twofold: firstly, to evaluate the difference among psychological attributes before and after an entrepreneurial education and training program. Secondly, to examine the effects of psychological attributes on EI among female students in Saudi Arabia.Design/methodology/approachA detailed program was designed with the combination of entrepreneurial education and training program throughout a 14-week semester. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from 310 female university students studying in a Saudi university and participated in this program. SPSS, version 20, was used to analyze the data.FindingsEntrepreneurial education and training programs based on active learning and learner-centered approaches play an important role to significantly improve the level of psychological attributes and EI of female students. Furthermore, findings of this study also suggest that psychological attributes (training retention, self-confidence, tolerance of ambiguity, innovativeness and achievement motivation) positively influence EI.Originality/valuePrevious studies only focused on relationship testing among psychological attributes and EI. This research proposes strategies to design entrepreneurial education and training program to improve psychological attributes and EI which can be considered practical version of EntreComp conceptual model.

Purpose of the study: This study examines the impact of creativity and entrepreneurship education on student entrepreneurial intentions at Jakarta State University. Methodology: This study, we applied quantitative research which conducting in two-phase First, we perform exploratory factor analysis test, and the second phase, we confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS version 18. Main Findings: This study carried out the findings that there is an impact on creativity on entrepreneurial education, lectures on individual creativity, entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intention, and creativity supported in the university on individual creativity. Furthermore, creativity supported not impact on entrepreneurial intention, and individual creativity has not to impact on entrepreneurial intention. Applications of this study: This research can be used by university leaders to increase students’ intention to become entrepreneurs through optimizing entrepreneurship education and creativity support from universities. Novelty/Originality of this study: In this study, we found that there was an influence of lecturer on creativity on entrepreneurship education. Previous researchers have never revealed this finding. Our research also found the impact of individual creativity on the intention of entrepreneurship. This finding has not been revealed in some previous studies.

The aim of this study is to analyze the entrepreneurial intentions of UiTM Segamat business students and its main factors influencing it. The attitude, subjective norm, entrepreneurial education, and self-efficacy are the variables analyzed in this study. Samples of 171 business students were tested. The result shows there is an intention to become an entrepreneur among students and attitude is the main factor that contributes to it. Subjective norm and self-efficacy have moderate influence but entrepreneurial education does not significantly influence their entrepreneurial intention with the hope that MASMED gives attention and attempts to improve the effectiveness of the entrepreneurship program in university. This in general, encourages students to be courageous to start-up businesses and at the same time respond to our country desires.
