With the rapid development of the Internet, social networks have shown an unprecedented development trend among college students. Closer social activities among college students have led to the emergence of college students with new social characteristics. The traditional method of college students’ group classification can no longer meet the current demand. Therefore, this paper proposes a social network link prediction method-combination algorithm, which combines neighbor information and a random block. By mining the social networks of college students’ group relationships, the classification of college students’ groups can be realized. Firstly, on the basis of complex network theory, the essential relationship of college student groups under a complex network is analyzed. Secondly, a new combination algorithm is proposed by using the simplest linear combination method to combine the proximity link prediction based on neighbor information and the likelihood analysis link prediction based on a random block. Finally, the proposed combination algorithm is verified by using the social data of college students’ networks. Experimental results show that, compared with the traditional link prediction algorithm, the proposed combination algorithm can effectively dig out the group characteristics of social networks and improve the accuracy of college students’ association classification.

The primary aim of a hospital Clinical Engineering Department (CED) is to ensure a safe and cost-effective operation of the medical devices. In order to achieve this goal, it needs to implement and establish a comprehensive biomedical technology management program, which is a complex and multidimensional task. This work presents a medical devices management software system to assist the CED in healthcare, and it appears, as a result, of an effort to re-engineer and rebuild such an old, successful management system. The findings of this re-engineering attempt are presented. The goal was the incorporation of the new trends in clinical engineering and medical devices management and the exploitation of the new capabilities provided by the modern software tools and platforms. The system is expected to respond to the changing healthcare environment demands, the increased efforts required, and the respective broader role that CEDs have to play.

Launched in 1997, FAMSI.org established itself as the leading digital platform for the promotion and dissemination of Mesoamerican scholarship to the widest possible audience. The online arm of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies, Inc., a nonprofit pledged to foster increased understanding of ancient Mesoamerican cultures, FAMSI.org crosscut disciplinary divisions and facilitated communication between scholars in the United States and those in Latin America. The eight-member Board of Directors and its advisory committee ensured that the foundation would harness the spirit of generosity and creativity that characterized the early days of the Internet for the benefit of a likewise emergent discipline. As the Website developed, FAMSI sought partnerships with and contributions from institutions around the world in order to make educational resources publicly available. The Website hosts a remarkable amount of primary research material, including image databases, contemporary and historical indigenous-language dictionaries, ethnographic videos, maps, and an up-to-date, searchable subject-specific bibliography, all of which are available in both English and Spanish and accessible at no cost to visitors. Between 1997 and 2006, the Website grew exponentially, but like many of its early counterparts, the site’s utility and navigability ultimately suffered as a result of the rapid development of new software and the obsolescence of existing digital platforms; searches became sluggish and unwieldy. While visitorship remained high for an academic site—over a million unique visitors a year—a 2012 survey indicated that scholars frequented only known parts of the site while novice users spent as little as a few minutes on the site. The global economic crisis of 2008 destabilized FAMSI’s funding, and in 2010 the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) assumed stewardship of the foundation as well as the Website. The museum began to maintain and review FAMSI.org, ultimately deciding to update and transform the Website into a new platform, AncientAmericas.org, which broadens the scope beyond that of Mesoamerica. FAMSI, with its dedication to research and online collaboration, became the principal resource for the research of ancient American cultures for both a scholarly and general audience beginning in the mid-1990s. Its enduring legacy is the spirit of interdisciplinary and international cooperation and generosity that it fostered.

Abstract Recent rapid development of the Baltic stock markets raises the question about stock market integration level in these countries. Some empirical aspects of the Baltic stock market integration have been analysed in the scientific literature, however, a comprehensive analysis on the Baltic stock market integration level is still missing. The aim of the paper is to assess the regional integration level of the Baltic stock markets. The research object is stock markets in the Baltic countries. The following research and statistical methods have been applied in this study: the systemic and comparative analysis of the scientific literature, Spearman’s correlation coefficient, dynamic conditional correlation generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity model, Granger causality test, generalized impulse response analysis, Johansen cointegration test, autoregressive distributed lag model and error correction model. The main findings of this empirical study are (a) all three Baltic stock markets are closely related markets, (b) however, the Latvian stock market is more isolated at the regional level comparing to other two Baltic stock markets (c) whereas Estonian and Lithuanian stock markets are more interrelated.
