This paper discusses the procedure for the develop-ment and operation algorithm of the specialized regulatory and reference database “Sowing equipment for tilled and vegetable crops” which contains a description and tech-nical characteristics of domestic and foreign precision seeders (their units and assemblies) for tilled and vegeta-ble crops in the system precision and zero agriculture. The main function of the program is the accumulation and sys-tematization of information on sowing equipment for tilled and vegetable crops with the possibility of interactive search, filtering and comparison of results. The structure of the database being developed has been determined; it includes 4 blocks: a graphical interface; control algorithms; data management; control components and general pur-pose components. Taking into account this structure, the stages of creating a database are determined: analysis of real world objects for the implementation of the modeling process, selection of tables and fields that are capable of identifying each object, designing relationships between tables and setting referential integrity rules. The developed software solves the following tasks: searches according to the main characteristics of sowing equipment for tilled and vegetable crops; forms an initial set of characteristics and their limit values; implements sorting and filtering of search results; provides the ability to select from the table-list a specific instance of equipment with the output of detailed information; provides the ability to select from the table-list of several copies of equipment for their detailed compari-son; provides personalized access to entering and modify-ing information in the database. The advantage of using the developed database is its regular replenishment; at the moment the information volume (content) is: for mechanical seeders -23 items; pneumatic seeders -78 items; “direct sowing” (“zero” farming) equipment -10 items.

The Effect of Addition of Ca(NO3)2 to the Results of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in the Hydroponic System of Deep Flow Technique (DFT). Plants, in general, require composition, concentration, and volume of nutrient solutions which different depends on the type and phase of plant growth. Leaf vegetable crops such as lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) require higher Nitrogen (N) nutrients than other vegetable crops, but the problem we faced at the moment is the hydroponic nutrients that are traded only in the general form of nutrient, therefore the addition of N nutrients in the form of calcium nitrate (Ca(NO3)2) needs to be done to meet the needs of lettuce plants. This study was aimed to determine the effect of the addition of Ca(NO3)2 and to find the optimum dosage of the addition of Ca(NO3)2 to the general hydroponic nutrition of vegetables on lettuce use DFT hydroponic system. The treatments consisted of five levels which are nutrition AB Mix general vegetable as a control, and nutrition AB Mix with the addition of 30 g, 60 g, 90 g, and 120 g Ca(NO3)2.  The results of the observation showed that the treatment of the addition of Ca(NO3)2 fertilizer had a very significant effect on all observed variables, except for the diameter of the lettuce plant. The optimum addition of Ca(NO3)2 for lettuce was found at 90.04 g with a maximum yield of 207.92 g.

AbstractThis paper proposes a methodology for obtaining the interaction curve for composite steel-concrete sections subject to combined compression and bending based on the deformation domains of reinforced concrete structures defined by ABNT NBR 6118 [1]. For this, were developed expressions for the axial force, the moment and the strains of concrete, longitudinal reinforcement and the elements comprising the metal profile in each deformation domain.Based on these expressions a computer program called MDCOMP (2014) was created. In this study the same limit values of longitudinal reinforcement strain defined by ABNT NBR 6118 [1] were used for the steel profile strains. To verify the numerical implementations performed, the interaction curves and the plastic resistance of the section obtained by MDCOMP program were compared with those determined from the recommendations of Eurocode 4 [2], of ABNT NBR 8800 [3] or literature responses.

Regulating the use of waste water and sewage sludge in agriculture in such a way as to prevent harmful effects on soil, vegetation, animals and man.In European Union there is a Council Directive (86/278/EEC) on the protection of the environment, and in particular of the soil, when sewage sludge is used in agriculture. In the enlargement process of the European Union the Hungarian Government created a new rule (50/2001. (IV. 3.) Government regulation) which regulate using of waste water and sewage sludge in agriculture. This Hungarian rule is legal and reconcilable with the Council Directive. The Regulation lays down limit values for concentrations of heavy metals in the soil, in waste water, in sludge and for the maximum annual quantities of heavy metals which may be introduced into the soil.Waste water, sludge and soil on which it is used must be sampled and analysed.Sewage sludge must be treated for six months before being used in agriculture. The use of waste water and sludge prohibited on grassland, on nature reserved areas, in ecological farming, and soil in witch fruit and vegetable crops are growing, with the exception of fruit trees. The states soil conservation authority must keep records registering the following:– the quantities of waste water and sludge produced;– the composition and properties of sludge;– the type of treatment carried out;– the names and addresses of the recipients of the sludge and places where the sludge is to be used. The Government every four years must prepare a consolidated report on the use of sludge in agriculture, specifying quantities used, criteria followed and any difficulties encountered. This report must be forwarded to the Commission.Last but not least in the light of Member States reports, the Commission will if necessary submit appropriate proposals for increased protection of the soil and the environment.

Due to the use of heavy machines, mechanical deformation with the inevitable deterioration in its physico-biological properties is undergoing in agriculture of heavy machines and subfall layers of the soil. The density of the arable and subframe horizons increases, decreases, due to the moisture in the soil. The productivity of cultural plants is influenced by effective fertility not only arable layer, but also subfectant, so it is necessary to take into account the effects on them of agricultural machinery and tractors. At the first stage, the soil particles in close proximity to the paw are shifted forward, forcing the lying layers in front to shrink, when the voltages in the soil reaches the limit values, at some distance from the sock of the paw blades, its shift occurs. At the second stage, the soil begins to intensively shifted forward and move along the surface of the worker. In this regard, the soil resistance to the movement of individual parts of the working body will be different. At the moment when there is an intensive compression of the soil and its shift, the most loaded elements will be the cutting edge and the nose part of the paw, the least - wings of the paws and racks.

The study examined germination of seeds, antioxidant properties of seeds, sprouts and biomass of four vegetable crops under controlled conditions under various modes of seed drying. After thermal dehydration of the seeds (drying of samples at 105 °C), a sharp decrease in sowing properties occurs compared to air drying. Thermal dehydration strongly affects the viability of seeds and plants, but the level of adaptation to this stress effect is genetically determined and associated with metabolic features, forms and the state of water in plant cells and tissues. So, coriander seeds completely lose germination, and chicory seeds germinate quite well. New data are obtained on seed viability, microzelenium biomass formation and change of total antioxidant activity of studied vegetable crops under conditions of increased temperatures. In addition to chicory, carrot seeds showed some resistance to thermal dehydration. The height of the sprouts in chicory in experimental and control versions is close, while in carrots they differ almost 9 times. The yield of microselenium of carrots decreased by 11.5 times with the use of seeds subjected to thermal dehydration, the yield of chicory microselenium – by 2.7 times. The antioxy-data activity of coriander seeds, carrots and pasternaci decreases after thermodehydration, chicory seeds practically do not change. The antioxidant activity of sprouts is several times higher than that of seeds, which is characteristic of all studied crops. The formation of microzelenium during dark selection lasts no more than 2 weeks from the moment of sowing, obviously, therefore, it is impractical to grow microzelenium in the dark longer than this period.

The paper addresses the issue of introduction and effectiveness of modern management control systems (MCS) in Lithuanian enterprises controlled by foreign owners. Modern management control systems are supposed to provide local management with useful information, reflecting firm's performance from different stakeholders’ perspectives. However, the tools of management control sometimes fail in providing with this main function. Thus, the question is raised as to the extent to which performance management systems (PMS) are effective within Lithuanian telecommunication companies, when they are implemented by foreign parent companies in the rapidly changing environment of the industry. The paper reports the findings of a survey of 78 top and middle level managers of two telecommunication companies. Results of the research indicate that differences in the effectiveness of MCS do exist due to the specifics of governance structures within the telecommunication companies. Nevertheless, it is concluded that, when used interactively, a PMS is potentially effective even if a company operates in a rapidly changing environment.

Railway sleepers are traditionally made of hardwood, pre-stressed concrete or steel. However, emerging advanced materials, including polymers or composites, are investigated for a possible employment in the sleeper production. The main function of sleepers is to distribute forces they carry onto the trackbed, to support rails and keep the spacing between them, called the track gauge. The operating tolerance of the track gauge is critical for safety and is set by regulations. Generally, it is advisable to keep the track gauge deviation, as well as the sleeper length deviation influencing it, as low as reasonably practicable. In this article, the recommended limit values of the thermal expansion coefficient characterizing possible sleeper length deviation were evaluated. The recommendation considered allowed track gauge tolerance and the experimentally determined temperatures of a sleeper measured in the trackbed for a year. In addition, thermal expansion of a selected polymer in laboratory conditions was determined, representing an alternative material for the sleeper production. Consequently, it was compared with the limit and conservatively used materials. Furthermore, the same tested polymer, but utilizing chopped glass fibres to reduce the thermal expansion of the polymer, was also tested. Results show a positive impact of the glass reinforcement on the thermal expansion coefficient. The applicability of the selected polymer in the railway sleeper production from the perspective of the thermal expansion was discussed in the paper.

The mayor, in the field of broadly understood business activities, has been subject to restrictions for years established by the Act of August 21, 1997 on limiting the conduct of business activity by persons performing public functions. According to art. 4 point 1 and 2 of this Act, he can not be a member of management, control or audit authorities in any commercial law companies and be employed or perform other activities in companies of this type that could raise suspicion of his bias or interest. Analogous restrictions of councilors were regulated by the act on communal self-government. These, in accordance with art. 24f par. 2 of this Act can not be members of the management or control and audit authorities, or plenipotentiaries of commercial companies, but only those with the participation of municipal legal persons or entrepreneurs in which such persons participate. Unfortunately, despite the existing limitations, the legislator of 11 January 2018 amending certain acts in order to increase the participation of citizens in the process of selecting, operating and controlling certain public bodies, amended Art. 24f par. 2 of the Act on municipal self-government and it also included commune heads. This resulted in the moment when the new term of the local self-government bodies (2018-2023) started 24f par. 2 has also been applied to the commune head. Against this background, a fundamental question arises about the relation of this provision to art. 4 point 1 and 2 of the Anti-Corruption Act, to which the Author in this report - after making a detailed, thorough analysis of the problem - tries to answer.
