The quality of English instruction in Indonesia is not uniformly spread across the country. Those in big cities are more likely to receive qualified English instruction than students in rural areas. Bidikmisi kids do not have access to additional English learning resources, despite the fact that they require them. Finally, because English proficiency is so vital, their competition is low. As a result, Bidikmisi pupils' basic English skills must be enhanced in order to be more competitive. Basic English Training is provided to Bidikmisi students at IAI As'adiyah Sengkang who need it the most as part of this program. Aside from the pretest and post-test, 12 meetings were held. The results suggest that Bidikmisi students' basic English skills have improved. However, they must be persistent in their efforts to improve their knowledge in order to greatly boost their competency. It may be concluded that the basic English training program for Bidikmisi pupils aids in the development of human resource capabilities in the English field.

Agricultural companies play a key role in enriching the cultural and social life of the rural areas in which they function. Therefore, these companies serve towards preserving a quality of life necessary for rural communities to survive and to develop rural areas. However, the financial, human resource and material expenditures necessary to sustain rural communities are difficult to quantify. These studies, on the basis of internationally focused case studies, attempt to measure, systemize and evaluate the charitable engagement of farmers.

One indicator of the success of education is the good quality of teachers. Permendiknas Number 16 of 2007 concerning Academic Qualification Standards and Competency of Subject Teachers states that teachers must have competencies, one of which is the competence to develop assessment instruments, both assessment of learning processes and assessment of learning outcomes. This is very important to measure the learning outcomes that have been set in the curriculum. In fact, English teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Kotagajah were still lacked in compiling exam questions using HOTS criteria. Therefore, the training program to create HOTS based test for English teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Kotagajah was implemented. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test conducted, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge about the preparation of HOTS-based questions by the English teacher of SMA Negeri 1 Kotagajah.

The research investigates undergraduates’ English abilities of autonomous learning in the environment of ecological affordance. It proves that their abilities are significantly different before and after independent learning in one semester, and they can actively try their own learning strategies and achieve good results in English learning, which reflects the success of cultivating the ability of autonomous learning. And it also holds that it is a good ecological affordance when learners could sense and understand abundant learning resources under their teachers’ effective guidance, and thus arouse enough enthusiasm for English learning to guarantee the quality of College English instruction.

Abstract There is consistent evidence that caregiving for grandchildren is psychologically, emotionally and physically challenging for grandparents. However, many of them may not be able to receive the support they need from their own families or public services. Using the Selective Optimization with Compensation framework and principles of solution-oriented cognitive models, we implemented a six-week session pilot program to increase grandparents’ effective coping strategies, reduce stress, and improve parenting and communication with grandchildren. Preliminary data from 22 grandparents suggest that participants improved their use of effective selection strategies to set priorities and pursue goals related to their wellbeing and the quality of their relationship with grandchildren. Their pre-post test scores also indicated a higher level of parental efficacy, social relations and confidence in organizing their time and priorities. Results indicate that focusing on solution-oriented strategies may empower grandparents to improve their psychological adjustment and take care of their needs.

Early detection and repeated learning training of children with intellectual disabilities are important factors that are directly related to the quality of future life of such children. However, implementation of such programs is challenging, as the subjects are still children. Therefore, motivation and interest are important for children with intellectual disabilities to carry out continuous training. In this study, Neuro-World, a game-based cognitive training program, was proposed for motivation and interest induction, and its effectiveness was compared with that of a conventional cognitive training program through analysis after both programs were implemented by professional therapists. The pre-test and post-test results of the game-based cognitive training program were statistically significant and showed superiority in the comparison with the conventional program. Therefore, the game-based cognitive training program developed in this study through digital media is expected to be effective in improving cognitive learning ability.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the quality of human resource in urban and rural areas of Indonesia. By using labor utilisation approach this study shows that although the education of labor force has increased along with the spread of educational facilities, there is a tendency that educated unemployment and underemployment are not decreased. This suggests that quite a highproportion of labor is underutilized. This reflects that technology and skill of labor are low which determine the low level of humanresource quality.

Research background: The paper focuses on the issue of dual quality of daily consumption products through the lens of the Z generation. Z generation is a generation of people born between years of 1997-2012, a generation that will become the main purchasing power in a few years. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the research was to explore the possibility whether the information on dual product quality affects the consumer behaviour of members of Z generation and if so, to what extent and at what type of products. Methods: Main method to receive necessary data for analyse was a questionnaire and its statistical evaluation given hypothesis. The research was carried out in the form of a survey consisted of 227 consumers. Findings & Value added: The results show that 85% of them had dual quality information, perceived this issue as a serious problem, and the majority wants to be informed more about this issue. More than half of the Z generation had changed their consumer behaviour as a result of information about the dual quality of goods on market of European Union, especially women with higher education and the Z generation living in rural areas. Research confirmed that the change in behaviour mainly concerns non-food products such as cosmetics and clothing.

BACKGROUND: An estimated 60,000 British Columbians are chronically infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV); 10% to 20% will develop cirrhosis after 20 years and 5% to 10% of these will develop hepatocellular carcinoma. Although treatment may prevent cirrhosis and liver cancer, and improve quality of life, availability is limited.METHODS: Individuals with HCV genotypes 1, 4, 5 and 6 who underwent baseline HCV-RNA tests between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2005, and were eligible for publicly funded treatment through PharmaCare were linked to British Columbia’s reportable disease database. Patterns in treatment were examined, including age at treatment, sex, location, time to treatment from HCV diagnosis and seasonality of treatment.RESULTS: When corrected for HCV prevalence, men were more likely to receive treatment than women (RR 1.16, 95% CI 1.02 to 1.31). Patients aged 35 to 54 years and 55 years or older were 3.45 times (95% CI 2.80 to 4.26 times) and 4.49 times (95% CI 3.55 to 5.69 times), respectively, more likely to initiate treatment than 15- to 34-year-olds. Differences were noted between health authorities. Patients in rural health service delivery areas (HSDAs) were 1.25 times (95% CI 1.10 to 1.42 times) more likely to receive treatment than those in urban HSDAs. Patients had an average lapse of four years between HCV diagnosis and receiving treatment. The highest proportion of patients initiated therapy between January and March (36.5%), with the lowest between October and December (less than 14%).CONCLUSIONS: This data linkage enabled us to identify populations less likely to receive publicly funded treatment. Rural HSDAs have higher rates of therapy initiation; this pattern merits further research but may be a result of integrated prevention and care projects in rural areas. Policy changes to the current PharmaCare funding co-payment schedules could reduce seasonal variability of treatment initiations throughout the year.
