The purpose of this study is to know the students problemsin translating English into Indonesian proverbs. The writer took the population consist 1 teacher and taken theentire sample that consist of 13 students. The research method applied was a qualitative method by translating proverbs text which is consist 20 items. The result shows that there were eight kinds of problems on  the translation of English proverb into Indonesian, they are (1) the meaning error on using article, (2)  plural, (3) participle, (4) modal auxiliary, (5) demonstrative, (6) gerund, (7) adjective, and (8) comparative degree. This also describe that the students of SMA Muhammadiyah Mataram still have difficulties in translating skill. The students made the grammatical errors in translating English proverb because they have different point of view from the researcher, they are overloaded with many different tasks, they do not think that grammar point is important, the point is more difficult for them than it seems, and they do not know the function of certain grammar.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bentuk toleransi dan faktor pendorong dan faktor penghambat toleransi masyarakat Jawa dengan studi kasus di Dukuh Medono Kabupaten Batang. Di dukuh tersebut, penganut organisasi agama seperti NU, Muhammadiyah dan Kristen Jawa di Dukuh Medono saling hidup rukun. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa toleransi antar penganut NU, Muhammadiyah, Kristen Jawa tampak berbagai bentuk. Antara NU dan Kristen Jawa dalam bentuk partisipasi dalam ritual tahlilan, sedangkan antar ketiganya tampak dalam bentuk kerja bakti, saling membantu dalam acara hajatan, perkawinan campur dan saling berkunjung bila ada yang sakit. Faktor pendorong toleransi antara lain budaya toleransi yang sudah lama, pernikahan antar penganut yang berbeda, sosialisasi toleransi dalam keluarga, dan kepemimpinan desa yang menekankan pentingnya toleransi. Sedangkan faktor penghambat toleransi yaitu perbedaan pandangan antar penganut NU dan Muhammadiyah dalam pelaksanaan ibadah, pernikahan beda keyakinan, dan sikap menyinggung keyakinan diantara penganut yang ada. The objective of this study is to explore forms of tolerance and the driving factor of religious tolerance in Dukuh Medono, Batang. In that village, the followers of NU, Muhammadiyah, and Kristen Jawa live peacefully and united in tolerance. The research method used here is a qualitative method with phenomenology approach. The result of the research shows that the tolerance between NU followers and Javanese Christians take the form of participation in tahlilan ritual. The tolerance between NU, Muhammadiyah followers, and Kristen Jawa followers are expressed through kerja bakti, mutual support in hajatan rituals, mixed marriage, visits to the sick, and social activities together. The factors which help to create tolerance include the culture of tolerance which exist in the village, marriages between religious followers, the socialization of tolerance within family, the socialization of tolerance within the society and the role of village administrative leaders. On the other hand, the factors which distract tolerance are different point of view between NU dan Muhammadiyah followers in some religious aspects, marriage between different religious followers, and the attitude of insulting others beliefs.

This research is intended to analysis of the English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta in the 2013/2014 academic year. The research method used to analyze the item of English summative test for senior high school are quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative method was used to analyze data of the facility value and discriminating power of each item. The qualitative method was used to describe and analyze the quality of test items. Grammar is the rules in a language for changing the form of words and joining them into sentences to create meaning. This research is focused on error analysis  on the using BE in Simple Present and Simple Past Tenses. The purpose of this study is to find out the grammatical errors in using BE in students’ composition. In this study the writer took the the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Nainggolan in the Academic Year of 2017/2018 consisting 25 students as the sample. The data are analyzed with descriptive qualitative method. The data were identified based on kinds of errors. The kinds of errors are omission and misordering. The results of the data analysis show that there are 155 errors made by the students in their compositions. The writer concluded that omission errors 68 or 61,80% in Simple Present Tense and  49 or 51% in Simple Past Tense, misordering errors 16 or 14,60% in Simple Present Tense and 22 or 23% in Simple Past Tense. But out of category there are 28 or 23,60 redundant sentences in Simple Present Tense and 25 or 26% redundant sentences in Simple Past Tense. The writer also concluded that there are two causes of errors, namely Translation and Carelesssness. Based on the result of the research, it is suggested that the students should learn and memorize grammatical rules an teachers should give clearer explanation on grammatical rules in English.

The study aimed to identify the motives and behavior standing behind writing on the walls of institutions of higher education from the point of view of university students in Hebron Governorate. The researchers used the descriptive exploratory approach and the qualitative method through the structured interviewing tool. They developed a scale consisting of (19) items. Respondents asked to identify and order the most important (10) items from their own perspectives. The population of the study consists of (21813) subjects, the total of students according to official statistics issued in the second semester of the academic year (2019-2018) from the four universities in Hebron Governorate: Palestine Polytechnic University, Hebron University, Al Quds Open University with its three branches (Hebron, Yatta and Dura), and Palestine Technical University (PTU) Al- Aroub Branch. For the purpose of the study, a simple random sample of 679 students selected. The outcome of the study concluded that respondents identified and ordered the most important (10) items. They indicated that the "Psychological factor or drive", item 1, is the most important one, and (the motive of rumor, deception and dissemination of lies), item 7, is the last one while the (economic motive), item 19, is the least drive. In light of these results, the researchers present some useful recommendations. Forming expert committees at the universities is badly needed. Committees should be entitled with certain duties as: observing the writings of the students on the walls of the Palestinian higher education institutions, understanding their contents, identifying the needs of students, educating students about the importance of preserving university property, and prohibiting writing on its walls.

In short story learning activities, students are not only directed to understand theories such as recognizing short story characteristics, intrinsic elements of literary work (short stories), but literary learning is directed to how students are able to find intrinsic elements contained in short stories such as, plot, setting, point of view, theme, mandate, language style, characters and others. This study used a descriptive qualitative method that was normative. The population in this study were all Grade VII Students of the Even Semester Semester SMP Kartika II-Bandar Lampung in the 2019/2020 Academic Year totaling 184 students consisting of 5 (five) classes. The sampling technique was carried out using the Stritified Proportional Random Sampling technique. Samples were taken as many as 16% of 184 students, as many as 30 students. Analysis of the ability to determine the intrinsic element of the short story "merdeka" by Putu wijaya then the results obtained from the aspects of the theme get a rating of 67% with enough criteria, flow aspects get a rating of 61% with sufficient criteria, setting aspects get a rating of 55% with less criteria, aspects of characterizations get an assessment 77% with good criteria, aspects of the perspective get 70% assessment with sufficient criteria, aspects of language style get an assessment of 85% with criteria Very good, mandate aspects 83% get an assessment with criteria Very Good.

This research aims to determine the types of grammatical errors that students make the most and least frequently, as well as the causes of those errors, using the Surface Strategy Taxonomy that was identified in students' recount text translation. The participants in this study were SMAN 1 Pringsewu first-graders in the academic year 2020/2021. This research adopted a descriptive qualitative method by using a translation task and questionnaire for the instruments. According to the Surface Strategy Taxonomy, the students made all types of errors: omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. In recount text translation based on Surface Strategy Taxonomy, the most common error made by students was misformation, whereas the least frequent error type was misordering. Problems with the target language, mother-tongue interference, a lack of eagerness to learn the target language, a lack of confidence, and the absence of error feedback from the teacher were all possible causes of those errors. This indicates that the students’ English grammar understanding was still limited. Therefore, the English teacher is expected to solve it by providing appropriate teaching methods and materials to reduce errors.

This study entitled An Analysis of Grammatical Errors Based on Facebook User at the Group of English Department Program at Muhammadiyah University of Mataram in the academic year 2015-2016. This research focused on the purpose of investigated kinds of grammatical error made by facebook user. The method used a descriptive qualitative method where the instrument employed to collect the data. The total number involved in the group of English Department UMM were 136 members who are consisted of 10 lectures and 126 students. As a result of this study, the researcher found out four kinds of errors were classified into Omission error, Addition error, Misformation error, and Misordering error. The highest rank of their error was Omission and Misformation error (16,4%), the second rank was Addition error (10,8%), the lowest rank was Misordering error (2,8%). These errors were mostly caused the members did not realize the errors of the language they have made.

The novel Sepertiga Malam di Manhattan by Arumi E is very interesting to study. This novel is a novel about the struggle of a family to get happiness. This novel is the Arumi E's 27th newest novel. The struggle in this novel is to make the family happy, expecting for the baby. Before writing the novel, Arumi E did a research in the places written in the novel to achieve a very interesting fictional story and most of this story was taken from the traveling results so it was so interesting. The objective of this research is to describe (1) the Autopoetic System in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E. (2) The differentiation system in the Novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E.The research method used is in the form of a descriptive qualitative method that uses a social system approach. The method used by the researcher is the dialectical method. The data source used in this research is the novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E, published by Gramedia publisher in 2018. The data collection in this study uses the steps of reading the novel. To collect data, the researcher use any instrument.There are two results of the study: (1) The autopoetic system in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E. is concerning to some characters who have their own beliefs or rules in their lives who do not want to follow the rules of others, they are more confident in their own way to success and purpose of life. (2) The system of differentiation in the novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E. is covering the handling of changes in the environment, the characters are able to adapt to the new environment, which has a different culture from the original culture. This shows evidence of the system autopoetic and differentiation in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E.

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMK Negeri 9 Medan, Jenis penelitian yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X DKV 1 yang berjumlah 36 orang siswa terdiri dari 20 laki-laki dan 16 perempuan, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar sketsa, melalui motode demonstrasi dan latihan. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal yang di temukan oleh peneliti, masih rendahnya hasil belajar sketsa siswa. Peneliti melakukan pre test untuk mengetahui kondisi awal sebelum dilaksanakannya tindakan persiklus. Hasil pre test menunjukkan masih rendahnya ketuntasan belajar siswa, dari 36 orang siswa hanya 7 orang siswa (19,4%) yang tuntas dalam pembelajaran sketsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan motode pembelajaran demonstrasi dan latihan. Pada siklus I diperoleh 24 orang siswa (66,7%) yang tuntas dan 12 orang siswa (33,3%) yang tidak tuntas. Dengan begitu, peneliti melanjutkan ke siklus II dengan perolehan 35 orang siswa (97,2%) yang tuntas dan 1 orang siswa (2,8%) tidak tuntas dalam pembelajaran sketsa. Terdapat peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 30,5%, maka peneliti tidak melanjutkan ke siklus berikutnya. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan motode pembelajaran demonstrasi dan latihan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan belajar sketsa pada siswa kelas X DKV 1 di SMK Negeri 9 Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2019/2020.Kata Kunci: hasil belajar, sketsa, demonstrasi, latihan.AbstractThis research was conducted at SMK Negeri 9 Medan. The research employs a classroom action research method. The research subject was the ten grade students of DKV 1 with a total of 36 students consist of 20 men and 16 women. This research aims to improve skectch learning outcomes through demonstration and training method. Based on the results of preliminary observations found by researcher, the researcher found the low student sketch learning outcomes. The researcher used a pre-test to determine the initial conditions before the pre-cycle action was carried out. The result of pre-test showed that students' learning completeness was still low. From 36 students only 7 students (19,4%) who complete in sketching learning. This research was taught by using demonstration and training learning method. In cycle I, there were 24 students (66,7%) was complete and 12 students (33,3%) was incomplete. Therefore, the researcher proceed to cycle II with the acquisition of 35 students (97,2%) was complete and 1 students (2,8%) was incomplete in sketch learning. There was increase from cycle I to cycle II of 30,5%, the researcher does not proceed to the next cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of demonstration and training method can improve the ability in sketch learning of the ten grade students DKV I at SMK Negeri 9 Medan in the academic year 2019/2020. The research objective is to increase the wealth of mufrodat through hypnoteaching methods. The research subjects were all fifth grade students of MI Miftahun Najah Banyuputih Situbondo in the 2016/2017 Academic Year. Researchers used data collection instruments in the form of observation formats, question sheets, field notes, and interview guidelines. The research method is classroom action research. Data analysis techniques are planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The results of the study are: 1) The average memorization of students' mufrodat in the pre cycle before receiving hypnoteaching learning method treatment gets an average of 65.38. The smallest value is 55 and the highest value is 80. With the Minimal Completeness Criteria reference of 70, the number of students who get a score equal to or above the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 23% while students who have not reached the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 77%. 2) The average memorization of students' mufrodat in the first cycle after applying hypnoteaching learning method got an average of 72.3. The smallest value is 55 and the highest value is 80. With the Minimal Completeness Criteria reference of 70, the number of students who score equal to or above the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 61.5% while students who have not reached the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 38.5%. 3) The average memorization of students' mufrodat in the second cycle gets an average of 90. The smallest value is 75 and the highest score is 100. With a Minimal Completeness Criteria reference of 70, the number of students who score equal to or above the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 92.3% while students who have not yet reached Minimal Completeness Criteria is 7.7%. 4) The use of hypnoteaching method can increase the wealth of mufrodat of fifth grade students of MI Miftahun Najah Banyuputih Situbondo in 2016/2017 Academic Year.
