Considering that Mathematics is a multidimensional problem-solving method that can be effective in all areas of cultural life, it is of great importance because of its contribution to other sciences such as physical and social sciences. It is known that the basic concepts of mathematics, which can also be expressed as a way of life, have helped to increase the usefulness of mathematics to practical and even social sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, economics, engineering and military, as well as their own values. In addition, if abstract subjects and concepts in mathematics are used in other sciences, concrete results can be obtained, which facilitate the labor of humans. In this case, it is useful to illustrate the mathematics of everyday life in order to understand the importance of mathematics. The word “function”, which is often used in everyday life as in mathematics, is one of the basic concepts in mathematics. Relating the learned knowledge and the acquired skills related to this concept to everyday life can affect the memory duration of learned knowledge and subsequent learning. Considering the importance of the subject, a case study has been conducted with (62) students. In the study, the definition of the function and two daily life examples related to the definition were presented to the candidates in black and white. The candidates were asked to make the definition of the types of functions presented to make sampling from daily life by making analogies. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. In the study, it was determined that the candidates could not go beyond the ordinary in writing samples. In addition, the success rates of candidates’ ability to define and write daily life examples have been quite different.

The Subject

This chapter examines a case study-approach to teaching organisational behaviour. It explains the effectiveness of the use of case study in teaching the subject which is often termed theoretical and complex. The chapter advocates that the use of real life organisational cases can make the learning and teaching process more tangible and contribute to the development of critical thinking. The chapter specifically supports the view that there are aspects of organisational behaviour that are visible in both everyday life of individuals and groups. If lecturers could bring this up in the delivery of the OB curriculum, the learners, who are future managers and supervisors, could connect the learning experiences to reality, which could lead them to a better academic understanding and later effective practitioners.

<p><strong>Resumo: </strong>A presença da Companhia de Jesus no Estado do Maranhão e Grão-Pará entre 1653 e 1759 se fundamentou em uma extensa rede de missões nas quais foi engendrado um modo de vida peculiar, compartilhado por missionários e índios para além dos regulamentos oficiais. O artigo objetiva analisar a vida cotidiana nestas aldeias catequéticas enquanto lugares de intenso convívio social e crescente convergência simbólico-ritual. A leitura nas entrelinhas das fontes missionárias – de fato, documentos de caráter intercultural – permite retraçar os múltiplos processos de ressignificação cultural ocorridos durante o “século jesuítico” na Amazônia.</p><p><strong>Palavras-chave:</strong> Vida cotidiana – Aldeamentos jesuíticos – Mediação cultural – Amazônia.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Abstract:</strong> The presence of the Society of Jesus at Maranhão and Grão-Pará States, between 1653 and 1759, was based on an extensive network of missions in which was engendered a peculiar way of life shared by missionaries and Indians, beyond the official regulations. This article aims to analyze the daily life in these catechetical villages as places of intense social interaction and increasing symbolic and ritual convergence. Abstract Taking as a case study a cooperative belonging to the Landless Movement (MST) of Brazil, this article analyzes the place of conflict and the relationship between the economic and political dimensions of daily life. It presents an analysis on the way to balance the political principles and practices of cooperativism and the constraints imposed by the market economy, by trying to understand how the political experiences of the subjects participate in establishing a social order around a common political project, under permanent construction.

The article presents a new view on the problem of educating the spiritual security of the personality from the positions of axiological, culturological, civilizational, systemic, and anthropological approaches, on which the research methodology is based. The article describes the basic concepts of research: spirituality, culture, spiritual awakening, spiritual security, and presents the author’s definition of the concept of spiritual security of the personality. The article describes the cultural ideals of coziness in different countries of the world, which allowed us to highlight the features and prove the importance of leading a spiritual way of life, the essence of which is a person’s acquiring of a state of inner peace, coziness, security and which is accompanied by the achievement of pleasure from life. The principles of educating the spiritual security of the personality have been defined. They include the principle of spiritualization, the principle of cooperation, the principle of “live” dialogue based on spiritual and cultural values. The authors have identified the main threats to the spiritual security of the personality and described the ways to overcome them, among which special attention is paid to the importance of reviving the spiritual and cultural educational component, which will be the first step towards educating a positive personality with a human face, the humane, altruistic, creative personality focused on creation, not destruction.

This presentation examines how the softwarization of everyday life is experienced. The point of embarkation is the observation that despite the proliferation computation in the everyday, people pay little attention to the conditions of software and its role in shaping their mundane time-spaces. I will discuss results from a case study that used Henri Lefebvre’s rhythmanalysis (1992/2004) to shed light on how the rhythms of code-based technology are experienced. The research design of the intervention was inspired by the idea of privacy mirrors (Ngueyn and Mynatt 2002). Research participants (n=13), who described their relation to their devices as intense, used tracking software (RescueTime, ManicTime, App Usage or RealizD) in their ICTs and kept media diaries. These were used as artefacts in the interviews to enable reflection on the role of ICTs in daily life. The results from the rhythmanalysis show how the complex intertwinement of digital devices and applications in the everyday evokes manifold feelings. Simultaneously, technology is perceived as an aid in organizing and managing the daily life, but it also induces feelings of losing control, chaos, and burden. The results suggest that although people might take for granted the infrastructural conditions of technology, such as data mining, they still actively negotiate their relation to devices and applications vis-à-vis temporality. Outcomes from the intervention encourage developing further research designs that use the means of softwarization itself (e.g. tracking and digital traces) to enable critical reflection.
