It has been assumed too frequently that the modernized college preparatory or “academic” curriculum in mathematics is suitable for talented students. Relatively little thought and investigation have been devoted to their needs. As a result of this situation, some educational leaders believe that this group is being inadequately served. The group of pupils includes most of the potential leaders of the next generation. It is not undemocratic to single them out for special attention. On the contrary, the preservation and perfection of the democratic way of life require the full utilization of all the human resources of the nation. This means that the brilliant as well as the dull student should have an opportunity to work and develop to his full capacity.

The ideology of Pancasila as a way of life, the basis of the state, and national identity has a various challenge from time to time so that the existence of Pancasila as an Ideology must be maintained, especially in industrial revolution 4.0. The research method used is a qualitative approach by doing study of literature. In data collection the writer used documentation while in techniques data analysis used content analysis, inductive and descriptive. Results of the research about challenges and strengthening of the Pancasila Ideology in facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 are: (1)  grounding Pancasila, (2) increasing professional human resources based on Pancasila’s values, (3) maintaining the existence of Pancasila as the State Ideology.

For students who decide to enroll in college after high school graduation, there are numerous factors to consider when searching for potential matches and choosing from the available options. Ten recent high school graduates who participated in self-selected, ability-grouped, advanced academic courses in high school were interviewed at the end of senior year. These students shared valuable lessons they learned about the college decision-making process to offer guidance to students beginning the college search, and the adults, in and out of school, who help them make those choices. Participants offered advice about preparing to apply to college, the application process, and related social and emotional considerations. Nine key themes were identified in which participants encouraged early exploration of career-related interests, a focus on person-environment fit, and managing expectations. Implications for students, parents, and school personnel are also discussed.

The effectiveness of a nine-week college preparation summer program for visually impaired high school students is evaluated. Feedback from the students and their rehabilitation counselors indicates that the program increased the readiness of the students in the areas of communication, studying, personal-social and mobility.

Starting from 2017, the management policy and education authority of Vocational High School in district region is taken over by the provincial government. In order to distribute the services to Vocational High School in several regions, the provincial government applies data service in online. To support online data service between the provincial education office and the Vocational High School in several regions, it is needed the supports of adequate IT infrastructure. The IT infrastructure components cover human resources and IT assets in form of hardware and software. To discover the maturity level of IT infrastructure in each Vocational High School, it is required analysis of IT human resources capability and IT asset owned. The research method used was COBIT 5 framework with a set of best practices which able to facilitate the management to assess and mitigate risks, as well as provide improvement recommendations. Subdomain focus used for evaluations and recommendations were APO07 and BAI09. The results obtained by capability level of each subdomain is at level 1 namely Performed Process that organization performs a process to achieve the purpose with improvement recommendations to Level 2 namely Managed Process.

This case study describes processes in an urban high school, which contribute to excellence in urban pedagogy, and investigates teachers’ and educational leaders’ perceptions of the factors influencing their commitment to school success. Six themes related to excellence in urban pedagogy were identified. Data in the form of semi-structured interviews, observations, and document review de scribe a school in which the leadership strives to develop human capability at all levels through empowerment and shared decision-making. The study indicates that students’ achievement is a collective responsibility and strong instructional leadership is a key for success in urban schools. More studies may be needed to show how contextual experience of teachers and teacher’s self-efficacy are related.

  This study aimed to identify the most important obstacles to the teaching of gifted students from the point of view of teachers in the middle and high school of gifted in Jeddah، namely (educational obstacles، self-obstacles، social obstacles، administrative obstacles)، and the impact of study variables gender، For the teacher، the descriptive approach was used، and a questionnaire was developed to collect the data. The study population consists of all 70 gifted teachers in Jeddah's intermediate and secondary schools. A random sample of(70). The results of the study showed that the most important obstacles are the lack of special curricula for gifted students، the neglect of the school for the creations produced by the students، the lack of consideration of the assessment tools for the personality aspects of the learner، and the obstacles to the teaching methods of gifted students came in a medium degree and an average score of (3.31) And the results of the study showed that the obstacles of teaching talented students to the field of evaluation methods to teach talented students came in a medium and an average score of (3.39). The results of the study also showed that the obstacles of teaching talented students to the field of teaching tools The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the estimates of the sample of the study to the extent of the obstacles of teaching gifted students from the point of view of the teachers in the middle and secondary school in Jeddah، due to the gender variable، and the lack of Differences attributed to the variable of scientific qualification and years of experience.

Abstract Background: Academically talented high school students (ATHSSs), an exceptional cohort, are not well studied for their career expectations, especially for those with medical career expectation (MCE). Nowadays, the public perception of the medical profession is changing in China. The purpose of this study was to answer questions about ‘is medicine attractive for ATHSSs and ‘what factors affect medical career expectations (MCE) for ATHSSs’ in China. Methods: A total of 16,479 representative ATHSSs in senior three completed a questionnaire and four different academic tests. Frequency statistics showed the proportion of ATHSSs with MCE. Unpaired t-tests were performed to find out the differences in demographics, family background, and academic performance between students with and without MCE. The logit models analysis were applied to explore the potential factors that affected the MCE of this exceptional group of students. Results: ATHSSs with MCE accounted for 20.6% (ranking 7/18) of the respondents. They were more likely to be female, came from relatively poorer families, lived in a rural area, and performed significantly worse in all academic tests except for mathematics, compared with those without MCE. In addition, the results revealed that gender (β=-0.436, p<0.01), region of hometown (β=-103, p<0.1), mother’s years of schooling (β=-0.019, p<0.05), and father’s occupational status (β=-0.005, p<0.01) contributed significantly to the MCE of academically talented students. Better performance in mathematics affected the MCE of ATHSSs taking the liberal arts and science tests differently. Conclusions: We found the medical career is becoming unattractive to academically talented students and the medical career may be loosing their aura in China. Students who have medical career expectations are likely to be females and to have a weak family background. We discuss implications for medical education.

Talking about Islamic education conceptually and theoretically is undoubtedly. Many arguments in the Qur'an and Hadith explained the purposes and scopes of Islamic education. There were numerous values and more than eighteen grades of characters, which were discussed by educational leaders. Islam respected the values of peace and tolerance in religion, thus, Muslims can live in diversity and plurality in Indonesia, which is not only different in religions and beliefs but also different in tribes, cultures and languages. However, the understanding of values and concepts is not enough to ensure realization of peace, yet it needs maturity in religion. The process to achieve maturity also requires guidance and habituation especially against adolescents who have trouble in looking for identity. Therefore, it is necessary to seek a solution for this problem. The purpose of this article is to describe how the conditions of religious life in the homeland that have relation to inter-religious and cultural. Furthermore, it may give solution to realize the maturity of religion for adolescents in high school and college, because this young generation will determine the climate of peace in the country.
