The subject of this research is the modern history of development of Kazan jewelry art. The article explores the development of Kazan jewelry art in the 2000s; the creation of remarkable jewelry artworks as the models of famous architectural monument and their authors. The research material contains the iconographic sources – unique images of the jewelry art patterns, as well as testimonies of the eyewitnesses – the jewelry artists. One of the authors is the direct participant and co-author of the jewelry works under review Thus, the article employs the method of overt observation, interviewing, and source analysis. The scientific novelty is first and foremost defined by the chronological proximity of the studied period. The article introduces the previously unpublished images of the jewelry artworks under consideration, as well as the new facts on the revival of jewelry art in Kazan of post-Soviet period. Analysis is conducted on the sources of the revival of Kazan jewelry art and the peculiarities of jewelry works. The article also unveils the plotlines of the jewelry works and history behind them. The conclusion is made that the revival of jewelry art in Kazan, which was partially lost in the Soviet period, has begun only in the late 1990s – early 2000s. After the removal of a number of legislative restrictions, the jewelers were given the opportunity to experiment and create the true works of art.

This publication is a review of a new book by A. A. Petrov devoted to the history of the study of the Tungus-Manchu languages in Russia from the 18th century till the beginning of the 21st century. Reference books of this type on the Tungus-Manchu languages and other languages of the peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of Russia have not been published for over 70 years, and they are especially relevant due to the increase in the volume of publications on these languages, a significant part of which are regional publications of universities and Siberian scientific centers. The main part of the book is the literature on the Tungus-Manchu languages dating back to the 20th century. It is divided into three periods: the pre-revolutionary period (1900—1917), the Soviet period (1917—1991), and the Russian post-Soviet period (1992—2000). There is a certain logic in this: the biographies of most researchers of the older generation fit into one period, and each period reflects certain trends in views on the subject and asks of the study. The book includes a number of supplements for reference. These applications make the book by A. A. Petrov a convenient textbook for students of specialized universities, a guide for refresher courses for teachers of the Tungus-Manchu languages and independent work of teachers, and a guide for foreign researchers who may have difficulties with the Russian bibliography on the subject. A. A. Petrov’s book is unambiguously useful as an everyday reference book of literature on the Tungus-Manchu languages, although, of course, researchers of biographies of scientists as well as researchers of some special problems of studying Tungus-Manchu languages will turn to other sources that provide special requests.

The subject of this research is the artistic comprehension of life and creative path of A. Akayev in the works of Kumyk writers. The object of this research is the poem “Flame” by the prominent Kumyk poet B. Magomedov. The author explores the place and role of A. Akayev in the history of spiritual culture of the Kumyk people and other peoples of Dagestan; evolution of the traditions of artistic comprehension of life and creative path of the outstanding Kumyk writers (including Abusufyan) in the history of Kumyk literature; and the deleterious influence of the consequences of Stalin's repressions on the spiritual life of the people later on. Particular attention is given to the analysis of the problematic and literary peculiarities of the poem. The main conclusions are as follows: 1) the history of Kumyk literature features such figures, whose life and creative path have become the object of not only literary studies, but also the object of their artistic comprehension; 2) over a dozen Kumyk authors dedicated their works to the artistic comprehension life and creative path of A. Akayev, among which B. Magomedov’s poem “Flame” holds a special place.. The author’s contribution to this research consists in introduction into the scientific discourse of one of the best in ideological and artistic aspect compositions of Kumyk literature of the post-Soviet period. The novelty is defined by the fact that this problem has not previously become the subject of special research.

This study is devoted to the work of the Dagestan prose writer, people's writer of Dagestan, playwright Magomed-Sultan Yakhyaev (1922-2006). The purpose of the article is to introduce into scientific circulation information about the diaries of the writer who kept them for more than half a century and to analyze the specifics of the diary genre in the work of the classic of Dagestan Soviet literature, to characterize his attitude to the events of the post-Soviet period, worldview evolution. Since M-S. Yakhyaev devoted his work mainly to the genre of the historical novel, his approaches to assessing the modern era are of interest both from the point of view of studying the work of the author himself, and from the point of view of reflecting the views of the older generation of Russian society on the era of Boris Yeltsin's rule. The diaries have not been published anywhere, their existence was not known until now, they were found on the author's heirs. The material is of interest to biographers and literary scholars dealing with the problems of Dagestan literature. The biographical and historical-literary value of the new genre in the writer's work is substantiated, which makes it possible to see the refraction of the modern history of Russia in the work and worldview of the classic writer of Dagestan literature of the Soviet period; the genre specificity of diaries is revealed M.-S. Yakhyaev.

The paper analyzes the historical retrospective and a comparative study of the verification of court decisions in criminal cases. The author traces the emergence of the idea of checking court decisions and the first experiments of its implementation, the transition from the "court with a judge" to the "audit" procedure for monitoring court decisions, and then to the consideration of complaints against court decisions as a continuation of the dispute between the parties and the formation of methods and procedures for reviewing criminal cases, depending on the subject of appeal. The features of the Romano-German and English models of judicial review are highlighted. Special attention is paid to the Soviet system of verification of sentences, rulings and definitions as the basis of the socialist model of judicial review and its subsequent transformation in Russia in the post-Soviet period. The monograph is intended for researchers, teachers, undergraduate, specialist, master's, postgraduate and doctoral students, as well as practicing lawyers.

Gröber, in his history of Romance philology, recognizes Fauchet as the man who founded the study of mediaeval French literature “soweit es die ihm zugänglichen Hss. gestatteten.” England had to wait another two hundred years till Sharon Turner did her a like service with his History of England from the Earliest Period to the Norman Conquest (1795-1805). Fauchet was also a political historian of the mediaeval period, but in this field he had an illustrious predecessor, in the person of Jean Dutillet (d. 1570), lawyer and secretary to Henry II of France. This able man was commissioned by his king to investigate the trésor des chartres; the result was a six-volume report, La France ancienne, du gouvernement des trois estats en l'ordre de la justice de France avec les changements qui sont arrivés. This is the first modern history of a mediaeval period (the Capetian dynasty), and Dutillet followed it with treatises on the Albigensian Crusade and the Gallican Church, which were published after his death. Fauchet, following in Dutillet's footsteps, but on his own initiative, took as his province the first two dynasties of France. Before taking up the subject of his library it may be well to summarize what is known of Fauchet's life and work.

Introduction. The article analyzes the oikonyms of the modern Odessa region, which were formed during the Turkish-Tatar (Nogai) history of this region. The genetic Turkic names that the Bulgarian settlers moved to a new place of residence from their homeland (or from the territory of Turkey) during the end of the XVIII – first half of the XIX century are analyzed. These names were changed as a result of administrative intervention by the Soviet authorities, mainly during 1944–1945. Аim. The study aims to carry out etymological and structural-semantic analysis of genetically Turkic oikonyms of modern Odessa region. The object of the study is the genetically Turkic names of the settlements of Odesa region (local and transferred by Bulgarian settlers from across the Danube), which were changed administratively mainly after 1944; the subject of research is to find out the etymologies of the corresponding oikonyms and their structural and semantic characteristics. Research methods. For the analysis of oikonyms the descriptive method is applied by means of which the structure of both historical (genetically Turkic), and new (Soviet period) names is characterized, and also reception of the etymological analysis for establishment of etymons of genetically Turkic names of settlements. Research results. The article identifies word-forming models, presents the classification of genetically Turkic oikonyms of Odesa region, clarifies the dеonymic motivation of their creative bases; the structure of new (renamed) names is characterized. Conclusions. It is proved that most renamings do not take into account either the derivation model, which formed the original name of the settlement, or the appellate (onym) meaning of the creative bases, which convincingly testifies to their artificial nature, lack of connection with local nature, historical and cultural features of the region. It should be noted that it is necessary to change the names of the modern Odessa region, in particular the names with the Russian imperial connotation (Alexandrovka, Suvorov), as well as with the Russian-speaking structure (Udobne, Utkonosivka).

The tragic events of the Revolution of Dignity and the hybrid war have been reflected in various stylistics and genre parameters of dramatic works. The brightest of them were included in two recent anthologies, which were prepared and published thanks to the efforts of the Department of Drama Projects of the National Center for the Performing Arts named after Les Kurbas. The first of them, “Maidan. Before and After. Anthology of the Actual Drama” (2016), has absorbed 9 plays by the authors of different generations (Yaroslav Vereshchak, Nadiia Symchich, Oleg Mykolaychuk, Neda Nezhdana, Oleksandr Viter, Dmytro Ternovyi, etc.). The completely new second anthology “The Labyrinth of Ice and Fire” (2019) also consists of 9 plays (three of which are also part of the previous anthology), which are the reflections of the modern history of Ukraine. The texts about the hybrid war, which are included in two anthologies, are the subject of our analysis. The focus is on the genre specificity of these drama works. The genre modifications of archaic genres inherent in the Ukrainian theatrical tradition (vertep, mystery) are studied in the plays “Vertep-2015” by Nadiia Marchuk and “Maidan Inferno, or On the Other Side of Hell” by Neda Nezhdana. The functioning of the documentary and epic drama (“The Chestnut and the Lily of the Valley” by Oleg Mykolaychuk, “The People and Cyborgs” by Olena Ponomareva and Dario Fertilio) is analysed. The processes of episation and lyricization are considered. The peculiarities of intergeneric diffusion and the creation of a specific genre type — lyrico-epic drama are analysed. The actual monodramas of Neda Nezhdana “The Cat in Memory of the Darkness” and “OTVETKA@ UA” are highlighted, as well as the intermedial character of the genre transformations of Igor Yuziuk’s drama “C-sharp Sixth Octave”

The article examines the features of the evolution of the civilisational approach in Russia. The historical stages of the formation of the civilisational approach in Russian political thought, starting from the pre-revolutionary times and ending with the post-Soviet period, are considered. The works of N. Danilevsky, L. Gumilyov, A. Dugin, V. Tsymbursky are analysed. It is concluded that the civilisational approach in Russia was especially in demand due to the specific nature of Russia’s relations with the Western world and within the discussion about Russia’s belonging to European civilisation. In the perspective of the world-system analysis, the development of the civilisational paradigm in Russia was due to its being on the semi-periphery of the capitalist world-system. It has always complicated relations with the Western countries belonging the world-systemic core. The findings can be used within the study of the processes of formation of national and sociocultural identity in the post-Soviet space, as well as in teaching disciplines of the socio-humanitarian block (political science, history of political doctrines).

The subject of this research is the interaction of the ideal and the material, which ensures unity of the process of creating a fine art painting. The object of this research is the dynamics of this process, which gradually materializes the ideal through poetic transformation of the objective reality. In the course of creating a fine art painting, the author underlines the importance of ontological-phenomenological and socio-gnoseological aspects of human existence, which in many ways determine the technical and technological means of solution of the artistic and creative tasks. Special attention is given to contemplation of the objective world, purposive action of the artistic will, establishment of the artistic image as interrelated stages of objectification of the ideal. The novelty of this article consists in interpretation of the phenomenon of the ideal, reflected in painting via integrated will. The latter is the synthesis of artistic will and subjective will of the painter. The author describes a “shuttle principle” in objectification of the ideal in the works of art within the framework of the history of development of painting, as well as within a single process: 1) from the aesthetic form to the embodiment of universality of the content; 2) from the universal content to aesthetic embodiment. The following conclusions were made: 1) the objectively ideal in a painting is an aesthetically perceived (visually, mentally, and spiritually) boundary of beauty and beautiful depicted via perfect, absolute unity of the artistic form and content, artistically and graphically, adequate to its concept in its material outcome, in reality. It is of rare occurrence in the works of art, something to be sought for; 2) an artistic form should be correlated in the artwork with universality of its content, which results in the fusion of the ideal and the real, and forms their indifference; 3) the universal meanings, ideologically underlying the content of a fine art painting, deepen and broaden the possibilities of artistic matter for objectification of the ideal in aesthetic form.

The subject of this research is the tendency towards formation of a new semiotic code of entertainment content, observed in the Russian segment of Tiktok social network. The goal of this research is to determine the new trends in recreational segment of the modern social network, the popularity of which depends on the number users’ likes and reposts. The research material contains the continuous sampling of videos for the period from February to March 2021. The analysis of videos of the Russian-speaking users allows revealing the tendency towards the emergence of a new type of recreational content at the intersection of plagiarism and parody. This implies voice-covering of the fragments of stand-up show in a different context: for example, a fragment from comedy show is lip-synced by a woman while preparing meal. In other words, the authors of such content do not claim to be original, they virtually lip-sync with synchronization of another person's speech (moreover, the TikTok format allows seeing the link to the original soundtrack). At the same time, such content is far from parodic, as there is no mimicking or gesturing of the original. This rather implies the renovation of the open text tradition, which historically accompanies the emergence of a new form of broadcasting information. Such content also indicates common features with the folklore: the author's story  is voice-covered by various users repeatedly, like an anecdote or the history of urban folklore. The conclusion is made on the emerging semiotic tendency of the polycode multimedia text, which on the one hand has deep historical roots, while on the other hand is substantiated by the modern technological capabilities and ways of broadcasting information.
