The Effect of Emotional Exhaustion on Job Satisfaction and its Impact on Performance

Lecturers have a variety of roles, namely: research, teaching and community services. To fulfill those roles, they can experience emotional exhaustion. A person who is experiencing emotional exhaustion is characterized by the depletion of emotional resources, such as feelings of frustration, despair, sadness, helplessness, depression, apathy towards work, irritable and easily offended and felt shackled by the tasks in the job. These conditions make a person feel unable to provide his or her jobs. The aim of this research is to examine the relationship among emotional exhaustion, work satisfaction, and lecturer performance. The research was done in STIE Perbanas Surabaya. This study uses primary and secondary data, with the number of samples of 40 lecturers. Path analysis is used to determine the effect of a variable or set of variables to another variable, whether direct or indirect influence. Results show the following: emotional exhaustion has no direct influence on the lecturer’s job satisfaction; emotional exhaustion has no direct influence on the performance of lecturers; lecturer’s job satisfaction has a direct and significant influence on the performance of lecturers; job satisfaction didn’t mediate the influence of emotional exhaustion on the performance of lecturers. The study concludes that performance remained unperturbed by the lecturer’s emotional exhaustion.KEYWORDS: Management, emotional exhaustion, job satisfaction, job performance,descriptive research, Surabaya, Indonesia

The purpose of this study was to find out empirically influences of motivation, discipline, leadership, organizational culture to job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and influences of motivation, discipline, leadership, organizational culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment to employee performance in the Dinas Perdagangan Tenaga Kerja Koperasi Usaha Kecil dan Menengah of Karanganyar Regency. The technique of sampling that used in this study was sampling method.The sample that used in this research was 51 respondents. The data collecting technique used observation and questionnaire. The data analytical technique used instrument research test such as validity and reliability tests; linearity test; hypothesis test such as path analysis, t test, F test, coefficient determination and coefficient correlation tests. The instrument test result showed that all of instruments were valid and reliable. The hypothesis result of this study showed that: Motivation had positive and significant influence on job satisfaction, while discipline, leadership and organizational culture had positive but insignificant influence on job satisfaction. Motivation and organizational culture had positive and significant influence on organizational commitment, while leadership had positive but insignificant influence on organizational commitment, and discipline had negative but insignificant influence on organizational commitment. Motivation, leadership, organizational culture and job satisfaction had positive and significant influence on performance, while discipline and organizational commitment had positive but insignificant influence on performance. Motivation, discipline, leadership, organizational culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment simultaneously are significant influence to employee performance in the Dinas Perdagangan Tenaga Kerja Koperasi Usaha Kecil dan Menengah of Karanganyar Regency. The result of path analysis showed that the direct influence of motivation to performance was more effective rather than the indirect effect both through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The direct influence of discipline to performance was more effective rather than the indirect effect both through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The direct influence of leadership to performance was more effective rather than the indirect effect both through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The direct influence of organizational culture to performance was more effective rather than the indirect effect both through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Job satisfaction as the variable of intervening in this study was unable to mediate influence of motivation, discipline, leadership and organizational culture variables to performance. Organizational commitment as the variable of intervening in this study was unable to mediate influence of motivation, discipline, leadership and organizational culture variables to performance. The direct influence of leadership to performance was the most dominant path which affected performance. The total effect of leadership to performance through job satisfaction was the most dominant total influence that affected performance.Keywords:        Motivation, discipline, leadership, organizational culture, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and performance.

<p><span><em>The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between selfefficacy and job performance; job satisfaction and job stress as a mediating variable. </em><span><em>This research also investigates the impact of job satisfaction on job performance </em><span><em>and job stress on job performance. Variables in this research were measured with a </em><span><em>survey of 109 insurances salespersons in Yogyakarta and Semarang. Path Analysis </em><span><em>were used to examine the effects of self-efficacy and job performance, job satisfaction </em><span><em>on job performance, and job stress on job performance. </em></span></span></span></span></span></span><em>Results showed that the relationship showed that self-efficacy significantly related </em><em>to job satisfaction and performance, but no significant relationship existed with </em><em>job stress. It also showed that job satisfaction partially mediated the relationship </em><em>between self-efficacy and job performance. In addition, this research found that job </em><em>stress not mediated the relationship between self-efficacy and job performance. There </em><em>is no significant relationship existed between job stress and job performance but this </em><em>research showed that job satisfaction significantly related to job performance.</em></p>

In an effort to achieve the goals set by hospital, qualified nurses are needed. Qualified nurses must show good performance. There are many factors that affect nurse performance. This research was conducted to study the effect of job motivation, job satisfaction, and attitude towards profession on nurse performance in the Outpatient Clinics of Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital. The research was an analytical study using a survey method. The subjects of this research were the 62 nurses in the Outpatient Clinics. Data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the relationship among variables. Results show that job motivation had a significant direct influence on nurse performance, job satisfaction also had an effect directly on nurse performance, and attitude toward profession had an effect on nurse performance. Besides that, job motivation and attitude towards the nurse profession proved to have a direct influence on job satisfaction. Based on the findings above, it can be concluded that the variations that occur on nurse performance variable are influenced directly by job motivation, job satisfaction, and attitude towards the profession. Recently a company faced by a very rapid changing and competitive environment. In order to win the competition, a company must increase their performance. Business globalization evoke continuously changing in all business aspect so an alteration became a normal condition. On of the management tool that often used by the management to manage their company is budget. Budget can be used by management as tool to plan and control the company activity. The purpose of the research is to examine the relationship between participative budget with job satisfaction and employee’s performanceand also the role of Job Relevant Information (JRI) as the intervening variable between participative budget with job satisfaction and employee’s performance. Variable that is used this research is participant budget, job satisfaction, employee’s performance and job relevant information (JRI). This research using survey method in which the researcher distribute questionnaire which include list of question to chosen respondents. Data analyses that were used in this research are validity and realibility test, Structural Equation Model and path analysis. The result shows that relationship between participative budget and job satisfaction figure out that participation in budgetary has positie in direct effect on employee’s job satisfaction and relationship between participative budget  and job performance figure out that participation in budgetary has positive in direct effect on employee’s job performance. In addition, the relationship between participative budgetary and job satisfaction through job relevant information as an intervening variable shows that there is a significantly positive direct effect., while the relationship between participative budgetary a job performance through job relevant information as an intervening variable shows that there is a significantly positive direct effect.Keywords: participative budgetary, job satisfaction, job performance and job relevant information.

This study used variable job stress, job satisfaction, job exhaustion and intention to leave. Aim to examine the effect of job stress variables on intention to leave, job satisfaction on intention to leave, emotional exhaustion on intention to leave. Strengthened on the basis of the theory of discrepancy theory, two-factor theory and continuance commitment. This study uses saturated sampling, which is a total sample of 48 employees operating at Matahari Department Store, Lipo Mall, Kuta Mall. The method of data collection uses interviewees and questionnaires with primary and secondary data sources. The results of the study using multiple linear regression analysis showed job stress has a positive effect on intention to leave, job satisfaction has a negative effect on intention to leave and emotional exhaustion has a positive effect on intention to leave.

This study was motivated by the agency problem and information asymmetry problem of managers not acting completely in the interest of the owners following the shareholder’s value maximization objective. The study therefore sought to determine the effect of foreign ownership on corporate value of listed consumer good firms in Nigeria. Tobin Q was adopted as proxy for corporate value. The study adopted a descriptive research design using panel regression analysis to explain the relationship between the research variables. The population for the study was all consumer good firms listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) as at December 2016. Ten years panel Secondary data from CBN statistical bulletins, NSE reports, SEC reports and individual firm’s books were used for the study. From Random Effects Model of the analysis, the study found a positive non-significant effect of Foreign Ownership on Corporate Value of the sampled firms. This study recommends that foreign ownership policies of the firms can remain indifferent since its effect is insignificant.

In a business organization, communication is imperative for employers to express their thoughts, ideas, policies, and goals to their employees. Different organizational leaders or managers have various communication styles. Effective communication between employers and employees would not only boost employees' morale and job performance, but also demonstrate employers' successful leadership. Are communication and job satisfaction related? How should employers communicate so that their employees have higher job satisfaction, better engagement, lower turnover, and stronger long-term commitment? The purpose of this chapter is to explore the relationship between communication and employees' job satisfaction. This chapter attempts to provide business executives, company leaders, and scholar-practitioners suggestions with regard to developing effective communication strategies for better company management.
