The high level of technological and information progress has resulted in the decline of people's love for local wisdom so that people do not understand the meaning of the existence of Ulos as a cultural heritage that is rich in the values of life's wisdom. This study aims to analyze the strengthening of character education based on local wisdom through learning Ulos weaving in Balige North Sumatra. The qualitative research analysis unit with this case study approach is that the people in Balige were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Interactive models then analyze data validity by source triangulation. The results showed that through Ulos Balige weaving learning in tutoring can be achieved a balance of the conscience, spiritual, and intellectuality of the community related to the creator through the content of philosophical values in the symbol of Ulos. Ulos weaving learning which is done classically through theory and practice has a positive impact on the formation of the character of the community by the values of local wisdom.

Kulon Progo Regency is one of the districts that has many innovations, one of which is community empowerment in collaboration with a modern shop abbreviated as the shop name owned by the people (tomira). This research was motivated by the achievements of the Kulon Progo district government in carrying out development and innovation in the development of the Kulon Progo region by fully involving the Kulon Progo district community through community empowerment. This initiative was taken by the government of Kulon Progo Regency to improve community empowerment and protect the people of Kulon Progo Regency from various economic threats. Considering that in the past few years many modern shops have mushroomed in each district/city, so this is what makes Kulon Progo Regency move quickly to empower the community by collaborating between MSMEs or cooperative with modern shops. This study uses a qualitative method which case study approach. With the empowerment that has been done, the original products of Kulon Progo Regency or local products can be traded in modern stores so that local products in Kulon Progo Regency can compete with national products in these modern stores. The existence of such cooperation will indirectly improve the image of Kulon Progo Regency and lift the original products of Kulon Progo Regency. The lifting of the original products of Kulon Progo Regency will have a positive impact on the community, where indirectly the economy of the community will increase so that there will be prosperity for the community. Kabupaten Kulon Progo adalah salah satu kabupaten yang memiliki banyak inovasi, salah satunya adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat bekerja sama dengan toko modern disingkat nama toko yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat (tomira). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pencapaian pemerintah kabupaten Kulon Progo dalam melakukan pengembangan dan inovasi dalam pengembangan wilayah Kulon Progo dengan melibatkan sepenuhnya masyarakat kabupaten Kulon Progo melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat. Inisiatif ini diambil oleh pemerintah Kabupaten Kulon Progo untuk meningkatkan pemberdayaan masyarakat dan melindungi masyarakat Kabupaten Kulon Progo dari berbagai ancaman ekonomi. Menimbang bahwa dalam beberapa tahun terakhir banyak toko-toko modern telah menjamur di setiap kabupaten/kota, jadi inilah yang membuat Kabupaten Kulon Progo bergerak cepat untuk memberdayakan masyarakat dengan berkolaborasi antara UMKM atau bekerjasama dengan toko-toko modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, dengan metode yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi. Dengan pemberdayaan yang telah dilakukan, produk asli Kabupaten Kulon Progo atau produk lokal dapat diperdagangkan di toko modern sehingga produk lokal di Kabupaten Kulon Progo dapat bersaing dengan produk nasional di toko modern ini. Adanya kerjasama tersebut secara tidak langsung akan meningkatkan citra Kabupaten Kulon Progo dan mengangkat produk asli Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Pencabutan produk asli Kabupaten Kulon Progo akan berdampak positif bagi masyarakat, di mana secara tidak langsung perekonomian masyarakat akan meningkat sehingga akan ada kesejahteraan bagi masyarakat.

<p><em>LIVING VALUES EDUCATION APPROACH IN DEVELOPING CHILDREN’S CHARACTER AT RA TIARA CHANDRA YOGYAKARTA. </em><em>This study aims to find out how the Living Values Education (LVE) approach in instilling the character values of children in RA Tiara Chandra Yogyakarta. The research used qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis technique are through data reduction, data display, and verification. The results showed that RA Tiara Chandra has used the LVE approach for the past three years, starting with the training given to teachers and staff as role models for children, then involving parents and the community around the school area. Training of adults was the first step to guide children in developing character values. This step was quite effective and had a positive impact on the development of children's character values in RA Tiara Chandra Yogyakarta.</em><em></em></p>

Subjects of this study are two Slow Learner students in in Margosari elementary school.. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method and case study approach. Data collection is using participative observation techniques, in-depth interviews, documentation studies and questionnaires. The data validity test uses source and method triangulation. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman data analysis that is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The result of this research is that intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation on Slow Learner students are high. The intrinsic motivation of Slow Learner students having a passion and desire to succeed, having a motivation about the need of study proven by the students that being active while learning, and having wishes and dreams of the future. While extrinsic motivation of students consists of the awards in learning, interesting learning activities and a conducive learning environment.</em><em></em></p></td></tr></tbody></table>

This research described the fundamental inspiration behind the implementation of a humanistic approach to the principal's leadership and the steps of the principal's humanistic approach that have an impact on optimizing the implementation of the program for strengthening character education. This research used a qualitative approach, a case study design. The data collection was performed through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies to achieve the research objectives. Data analysis used a modified analytic analysis method. The level of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability was the basis of data validity. The research findings explained that personal excellence (integrity, wholeness, and self-authenticity) and the humanistic spirituality of inspirational figures inspired the principal’s humanistic approach. In addition, the application of the principal's humanistic approach had adequate impacts on optimizing the implementation of a program for strengthening character education and influenced the strengthening of the student's character. Through the principal's humanistic approach, school becomes an environment for empowering the character of the students.

The effort to find national identity based on local wisdom became important. One of the local wisdom that can be found in Pangan Jaya villages is Arisan system in building the villager houses.  The village of Pangan Jaya were inhabited by former transmigration communities from Lamongan and Bojonegoro districts in East Java Province. Soon as their arrival at transmigration area called Pamandati, those peoples experienced difficulties in daily life. The condition creates a sense of togetherness spontaneously, because their mutual sense in cultivated the farmland. They embody solidarity and mutual assistance (gotong royong) in the form of Arisan that represents their homelands culture. They felt the mutual cooperation habit that they have done in their homeland need to be applied in their new village even though they did not know each other before. The houses built by Pangan Jaya peoples were the result of mutual cooperation in the form of Arisan. The research aimed to study the form of Arisan system among the people of  Pangan Jaya village in building their houses. This was a qualitative study with case study approach and data were collected through observation as well as in-depth interviews. The result of the research indicated that the Arisan system on houses  construction  came in the form of building materials and cash money. This Arisan system can run well because of the similarity of background, life principle and Javanese culture among Pangan Jaya villagers and supported by their healthy economy condition.

This research aims to describe the construction and character education model in Mandailing and Angkola tribes in North Sumatra Province. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, a research method on individuals, groups, organizations, and specific institutions. Instruments or data collection tools used in this research are (1) observation; (2) in-depth interview; (3) document study. This research uses a method known as ethnography or participant observation. The result shows that Mandailing and Angkola tribes’ characters building through 1) Socialization, 2) Enculturation, and 3) Internalization. Socialization including education, clarification, and motivation. Meanwhile, enculturation including imitation, habituation, and evaluation. Construction of education in Mandailing and Angkola tribes through habits, traditions, culture, and Islamic values. Character building in children is an effort to encourage self-awareness and concern for tradition, culture, and preserve local wisdom to sustain from generation to generation. Also, several efforts to preserve culture have been made by collaborating with schools, traditional and religious leaders to combine local wisdom and culture into schools’ curriculum and extracurricular activities.

<em>Learning must be a vehicle for the holistic growth and development of students' potentials through their active role towards a better chance. One of the subjects that have content of character education is History education. These characters will shape motivation with dignified methods and processes. It turns out that these character values are embodied in the philosophy of life of the people of Lampung. How is the analysis of the philosophy of life of the people of Lampung as enrichment in character education in history subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Kibang? The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of the philosophy of life of the people of Lampung as enrichment in character education in history subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Kibang for the academic year 2020/2021. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a case study approach. In teaching and learning activities there is an interaction between students regarding the subject matter. After the lesson is completed, the objectives of the analysis of Lampung's philosophical values will be achieved as an enrichment of character education, namely the inculcation of Lampung philosophical values such as Piil pesenggiri, meeting nyimah, nengah nyapur, sakai sambayan, and bejuluk adek. In history lessons, there are also aspects of character that are dominant in history learning, even though all values can be included in each subject, namely eighteen indicators of character education.</em>

This article discusses how the people of Ponorogo, East Java, Indonesia, designed a visual identity as a representation of Reyog dance to build up a regional image through a series of branding communication activities. This study uses a qualitative paradigm with a case study approach. The data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document investigation. All data collected were analyzed using an interactive model. The results showed that the five characters of the Reyog dancer were represented as a visual identity for Ponorogo branding through the process of media transferring using photography, illustration, and sculpture techniques. Reyog’s visual identity with motion characteristics is implemented in each channel of branding communication media through primary, secondary, and tertiary communication approaches. Other local governments can use these research results as a model to build up a regional image through dance media.

Berjo Village has the potential for ecotourism which can increase the economic potential of its people. This study aims to determine how Berjo Village manages the potential of natural tourism, agricultural tourism, and improves the economy of forest village communities. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach and triangulation as data validity, and interactive techniques as analysis. The results showed that the economic sector of the people of Berjo Village came from agriculture and tourism. The location of the forest area has high potential to be developed into ecotourism, which consists of Sukuh Temple, Jumog Waterfall, Telaga Madirda, Forest Park, Tenggir Park, Camping Ground or Outbound Tourism, Planggatan Site, Kampung Gunung Palace, Berjo Hydroponics, Ornamental Flower and Cut Flower Centers, Horticultural Plant Nursery Centers, the potential for climbing Mount Lawu by making a basecamp for prospective mountain climbers. All tours are in one location, namely, Berjo Village as an ecotourism destination. Tourism management is carried out by applying the concept of empowerment and the existence of embeddedness among various stakeholders with all the potential for ecotourism in an effort to improve the lives of the people in Berjo Village, Karanganyar Regency, Indonesia.
