Developing due to infectious and noninfectious causes, endophthalmitis is a serious condition requiring urgent intervention which can lead to eye loss. In recent years, medical and surgical approaches had great improvement in the treatment of endophthalmitis. Early diagnosis and therapy are very important in endophthalmitis. By prompt and accurate treatment, good outcomes are established. In order to get successful results, the combination of intravitreal antibiotic and pars plana vitrectomy approach is the best treatment modality. Early pars plana vitrectomy eliminates infective agents, suitable media, and toxins while amplifying the action of intravitreal antibiotics.

Introduction: Hodgkin lymphoma, which also accounts up 11% of all lymphomas, is named Hodgkin's disease. This malignant disease is known as the Reed-Sternberg-cell, which is situated in lymph-nodes and is characterized by the proliferation of irregular gait. The disease occurs more often in those between 15-30 years and over 55 and is doubling prevalent in women, in men and women. The sickness is bimodal age specific. The frequency in India is around 1 in 25,000 inhabitants. However, for all stages, long-term survival is around 80%. Clinical Findings: The onset of symptoms is usually insidious but usually used for frequent diagnosis are: Extension of lymph nodes in area of cervical, axillary or inguinal, extraordinary weight loss, Fatigue, Weakness, fever, chills, tachycardia, sweating or nocturnal sweat. Diagnostic Evaluation: Peripheral analysis of the blood, Biopsy of Excision of lymph node, Examination of bone marrow, Radiological study Therapeutic Management: Chemotherapy and radiation therapy or some may need immunotherapy or stem cell transplant. Outcome: After treatment, the child showed great improvement. Conclusion: A 11 year male child was admitted to pediatric ward no.22 in AVBRH on 25/05/2021 with a unique case of Hodgkin’s lymphoma with severe pain and discompfort. He was admitted in hospital and all investigation and treatment were started. After getting medical treatment and physiotherapy he shows great improvement and the treatment was still going on till my last date of care.

Anti-surge control valves are used for the protection of gas compressors by opening to relief sudden pressures (surge) which could damage the compressor internals. It is of great importance that the response of the anti-surge valves to surge detection is swift and within a few seconds since a little delay could cause catastrophic damages to the compressor it is meant to protect. In this paper, a design modification was done on an existing anti-surge valve to improve its response time. The modified system was designed and implemented, installed, and commissioned on a mixed refrigerant compressor. The modified system was tested, and the response performance was recorded. Results obtained showed average percentage improvement of 86% to that of the initial system. Also, the response performance of the modified system was less than 3 seconds as compared to the initial set-up which averages 9 seconds. This is indeed a great improvement in comparison to the initial system.

Abstract The primary cause of mechanical-related fish injury and mortality in turbomachinery is blade strike. Fish contained in the flow may strike with the rotor blades and the fixed diffuser vanes, the latter being a non-negligible factor causing fish damage in pump system. In this study, an experiment-based correlation of fish mutilation ratio acts as critical strike velocity. The relation between strike damage in a vaned diffuser and the theoretical pump head is presented as a function of specific speed. As an example, a vaned diffuser is designed for a single-bladed, mixed-flow impeller with the purpose of improving fish friendliness. This pump can be scaled to operate with a head up to 14 m at peak efficiency, without fish damage in the diffuser. Subsequently, experiments are conducted to show the retained pump performance as well as the great improvement of fish friendliness.

Abstract We present a Work Stealing scheduling algorithm that provably avoids most synchronization overheads by keeping processors’ deques entirely private by default and only exposing work when requested by thieves. This is the first paper that obtains bounds on the synchronization overheads that are (essentially) independent of the total amount of work, thus corresponding to a great improvement, in both algorithm design and theory, over state-of-the-art Work Stealing algorithms. Consider any computation with work T1 and critical-path length T1 executed by P processors using our scheduler. Our analysis shows that the expected execution time is O T1 P + T1 , and the expected synchronization overheads incurred during the execution are at most O ((CCAS + CMF ence) P T1), where CCAS and CMF ence respectively denote the maximum cost of executing a Compare-And-Swap instruction and a Memory Fence instruction.

Severe acute respiratory syndromerelated coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection has spread worldwide. The most of patients presents fever, dyspnea and cough as a typical viral infection, others show peculiar clinical and laboratory signs, such as anosmia, ageusia and thrombocytopenia. We here describe a severe coronavirus disease 2019 patient (76-year old, male) that developed an immune thrombocytopenia and acquired pseudo-thrombocytopenia that were refractory to immunomodulators even after resolution of respiratory failure. The patient developed thrombocytopenia (platelets 88,000/mm3) that got worse the following day (14,000/mm3). We started 1 mg/kg of methylprednisolone i.v. daily. Platelet count increased up to 209,000/mm3, in sodium citrate, but remained about 14,000/mm3 in EDTA 10 days after the beginning of methylprednisolone. The patient showed great improvement in respiratory parameters and radiological finding. About one week after he developed a thrombocytopenia up to 70,000/mm3. We did not modify the steroids dosage. Platelet count slowly began to increase and in about 10 days returned to normal values.

Abstract Background Pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) is first-line treatment for urinary incontinence (UI) in women. Self-management via a mobile app is a new cost-effective method for PFMT delivery. This study analyzes factors associated with improvement among app users. Methods A pragmatic observational study in a community setting. Upon downloading the app Tät®, users answered questions regarding their age, education, residence, and UI symptoms. After 3 months, users answered follow-up questions regarding symptoms and frequency of training and app usage, and the validated Patient Global Impression of Improvement (PGI-I) questionnaire. Only non-pregnant, non-postpartum adult women with UI who answered the PGI-I questionnaire were included. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze possible associations between these factors with any improvement and with great improvement according to the PGI-I. The models were adjusted for age. Results The study included 2,153 participants who had completed self-management, that is, 11.5% of eligible women who completed the baseline questionnaire. Of these participants, 65.6% reported improvement of UI. Any improvement was associated with age, frequency of PFMT, and app use, accounting for 27.9% of variability (Nagelkerke R2). Lower incontinence severity, frequency of PFMT, and app use were associated with great improvement. Conclusion Self-management of urinary incontinence is easily accessible to many women and improvement rates are comparable with other forms of PFMT. Demographic factors and incontinence severity showed no or incongruent association, whereas regular PFMT and app use predicted any and great improvement. App use showed an additional effect beyond frequency of training.
