In this qualitative exploratory study, we investigated the perspectives of mental health providers in Gaza, Palestine, regarding the primary concerns of their clients who are exposed to low-intensity warfare and structural violence. We conducted qualitative interviews with 30 psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and psychiatrists providing services to communities in Gaza. Participants were asked to discuss their clients’ most commonly occurring mental health problems, diagnoses, and psychosocial conditions. Thematic analysis identified one superordinate theme (Impact of the Blockade on Mental Health and Quality of Life) and four second-order themes (Concerns about Social Problems, General Concerns about Quality of Life, Concerns about the Mental Health of the Community, and Concerns Related to Children's Mental Health). Participants indicated that the social and political dimensions of mental health and the economic, educational, and health-related consequences of the ongoing blockade of Gaza were the main determinants of psychological burden among their clients. Findings demonstrated the importance of adopting an approach to mental health that includes understanding psychological indicators in a broader framework informed by human rights and social justice. Implications for research and clinical work are discussed, including the role of investments in social capital that may provide individuals with access to resources such as social support, which may in turn promote overall mental health.

Material-Metod: Within the scope of the study, a questionnaire form created by the researchers through "Google Forms" was applied online to 70 families with speech and language disorders and 30 families with healthy children, feedback was obtained from the families of 100 children. In the questionnaire form applied to the families; before and during the covid-19 pandemic, there are questions about families' quality time with their children, daily life activities, emotional and anxiety situations. Study data were collected between June-July 2020. Results: Spending quality time with their families before the pandemic was significantly higher in the group with speech and language disorders compared to the families of the healthy group (p <0.05). During the pandemic, an increase in the use of television, tablets and computers was observed in the majority of children in both groups. In addition, families in both groups were found to have moderate/high levels of fear of transmission of the covid-19 virus to one of their families. Conclusion: It has been observed that the function and psycho-social impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on children with speech and language disorders and their families is similar to healthy children and their families. In particular, it has been observed that all families experience intense fear of transmission of the disease during this epidemic process, also have high levels of anxiety about future.

Background:The growing prevalence of severe cognitive impairment in populations, the involvement of a significant number of people of working age in the medical, economic, psychological and social problems associated with late dementia, the insufficiency and inconsistency of information about the mechanisms of formation of these disorders actualize a comprehensive medical and social study of dementia. The goal is to study the psychosocial mechanisms of the formation of clinical, functional disorders in dementia, to develop comprehensive medical and psychosocial programs to help patients with dementia and those involved in caring for them, based on the proposals of the psychosocial model of dementia. Methods:A selective observational comparative dynamic study of 315 people with Alzheimer’s dementia and 214 people who care for the patients was carried out. The study used clinical, clinical, psychopathological, neuropsychological, psychometric, sociometric, and statistical research methods. Results:An increase in the severity of dementia contributes to a significant (p <0.05) increase in the number of patients in a dependent position in the family. The appearance of psychotic (painful ideas [r = 0.589]), behavioral (agitation/aggression [r = 0.654]), affective (anxiety [r = 0.536], unstable mood/irritability [r = 0.581]) symptoms of dementia contribute to family role changes structure and increase interpersonal distance in the dyad “caretaker - patient.” Decreased functional activity of the patient (r = 0.758), development of behavioral disorders (aberrant behavior [r = 0.675], agitation/aggression [r = 0.713], impaired night behavior [r = 0.597]), affective symptoms (anxiety [r = 0.685]) contribute to aggravation of the distress of the caregiver. Those who provide unprofessional care for dementia patients in a statistically significant (p <0.05) majority of cases have a high level of emotional involvement in the care process. Changes in family-role and social parameters, a high level of “expressed” emotions of caregivers have an adverse effect on the development of psychotic (r = 0.618), affective (r = 0.701), behavioral (r = 0.837) dementia disorders. The degree of adherence to anti- dementia therapy by the caregiver is one of the important factors determining the amount of care received by the patient (r = 0.698). Agitation/aggression (r = 0.761), anxiety (r = 0.562), sleep disturbances (r = 0.521) contribute to increased compliance. The low satisfaction of the caregiver with premorbid (r = 0.698) and current (r = 0.653) relationships with the patient leads to a decrease in the compliance of the caregiver. Conclusion:It was revealed that the formation of cognitive impairment is caused by biological factors, their severity depends on the severity of dementia. The mechanism of psychopathological symptoms, functional disorders is heterogeneous, depending on the biological causes and psychosocial conditions of functioning of patients.

Motivation for performing sport is complex because most athletes have multiple motivations, including extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Understanding the motivation dynamics of athletes, especially after a sports injury, is crucial because the injury may have a detrimental effect on the athlete's psychosocial conditions. This study figured out the motivation level of Paralympic athletics athletes after injury. A total of 44 Paralympic athletes were involved in the survey. The Sports Motivation Scale (SMS) was used to identify the level of athlete motivation. The SMS was developed within the Self Determination Theory (SDT) framework to assess various forms of motivation, namely amotivation, external regulation, introjected regulation, identified regulation, integrated regulation, and intrinsic motivation. This study found that out of 44 Paralympic athletics athletes after an injury, 5 (4.55%) of the athletes reported high levels of amotivation, and 15 (34.09%) of the athletes were identified in the moderate level of amotivation. This finding indicates that injury does not impact amotivation, as the athletes exhibit a high level of extrinsic motivation (external regulation, introjected regulation, identified regulation, integrated regulation) and intrinsic motivation. Based on these motivation profiles, the Paralympic coaches should adjust their approach in motivating the Paralympic athletes to return to their training and competitions after injury.

Background: Postpartum mothers with COVID-19 isolation can experience feelings of anxiety about being infected and afraid of death, loneliness, loss and sadness so that it can have an impact on the mother's psychosocial condition which can increase to stress and trauma, confusion and anger due to having to undergo the delivery process and self-isolate without family support, Not allowed to be visited or meet anyone. If this condition is allowed to continue without proper treatment, it can result in a psychotic condition Objectives: To identify maternal psychosocial conditions in postpartum mothers in the COVID 19 isolation room Methods: 100 postpartum mothers who were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instrument used was a questionnaire on the characteristics of the respondents; the social support questionnaire which is a modification in the Indonesian language of the postpartum support system questionnaire and the family coping questionnaire; and a questionnaire to measure maternal psychosocial conditions using the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS). Results: A total of 43% of mothers experienced psychosocial problems, namely major depression. Factors associated with postpartum maternal psychosocial conditions with COVID19 isolation were work, economic status, parity status and social support (p <0.05). The factor that most influenced maternal psychosocial conditions in postpartum mothers with COVID 19 isolation was social support (OR 4.024; 95% CI; 1.601-10.112) Conclusion: Social support is a dominant factor affecting postpartum maternal psychosocial conditions.

Background Cleft lip with or without palate (CL  ±  P) may impact children’s eating, drinking, speaking, breathing, and hearing. We aim to evaluate psychosocial problems in Indonesian cleft center school-age patients identified after one or more surgical interventions. Methods This is a cross-sectional study of parent report of patients with unilateral CL  ±  P who had cleft surgery from 2011 to 2016 in the Bandung Cleft Center using the Bahasa Indonesia version of CBCL/6-18 questionnaire. Descriptive statistics were completed based on measure norms and score ranges. Results There were 104 participants (56.7% male) with a median age of 8 years old and 73.0% had unilateral cleft of lip, gum, and palate. We found that speech and appearance problems were not perceived by parents for 34.6% of participants after undergoing surgery. The majority of parents reported normal range scores for the Social scale (93.3%) and the School scale (92.3%). In contrast, largely due to the restrictions in the covid-19 pandemic, 78.8% of the patients had below normal range scores for the Activities scale. Borderline or Clinical range scores were reported for 6.7% of children on the Problem Items section and 15.4% of parents endorsed one or more Critical Items about their children, which indicate significant behavioral concerns. Conclusion In this study, we found 6.7% of the school-age children population with CL/P had psychosocial problems. The result of this study hopefully can shed some light in the long-term psychosocial conditions of the CL/P children post-operatively.

Abstract Objective: This study aims to evaluate the long-term impact of living in postdisaster prefabricated temporary housing on social interaction activities and mental health status. Methods: A total of 917 adult residents in a coastal town, whose residences were destroyed by the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake (GEJE), were enrolled for the assessment held 5 y after the disaster. They answered questions about their experience and consequence of living in prefabricated temporary housing after the disaster. Their present scores on 5 types of self-reported measures regarding the psychosocial or psychiatric status and their present and recalled social interaction activities were cross-sectionally collected. Results: A total of 587 (64.0%) participants had a history of living in prefabricated temporary housing, while the other 330 (36.0%) had not. The prevalence of social interaction activities significantly decreased after the GEJE. However, the experience of living in prefabricated temporary housing did not adversely affect the subsequent social interaction activities or mental conditions of the participants 5 y after the disaster. Conclusions: Living in postdisaster prefabricated temporary housing may not negatively impact subsequent psychosocial conditions or social interaction activities 5 y later.

Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease triggered by dysbiotic biofilms, involving the host's immune response, systemic and behavioral factors, including psychosocial conditions. This systematic review aimed to investigate the possible association between periodontitis and anxiety in adults. Searches were performed in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Lilacs, Cochrane, and OpenGrey databases, without language restrictions, considering studies in adults (P-Participants), with (E-Exposure) and without periodontitis (C- Comparison) in an outcome of association with anxiety (O-outcome). Methodological quality assessment was carried out using the Newcastle-Ottawa protocol for case-control and cross-sectional studies, followed by an analysis of the level of evidence using the GRADE tool. Metanalysis was not performed due to several differences in methods applied by authors in primary studies. Eleven observational studies were selected according to the inclusion criteria from the total of 6,380 studies retrieved from databases. Eight studies demonstrated higher anxiety levels in subjects with periodontitis, among which only one study presented a high risk of bias. The GRADE tool revealed a low level of evidence for the anxiety outcome measured by the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), both for case-control and cross-sectional studies. However, since anxiety may affect the quality of life of many subjects, it reinforces the need for further studies that evaluate this association for more extended periods.Clinical Trial Registration:PROSPERO-CRD42020190445.

ABSTRACTCurrently, many families are confused with educational problems as a result of Covid-19, because the family is the first and foremost institution in educating, protecting and nurturing their children in accordance with family values, religious values, so it can be said that the family is a milestone. children's first in knowing the world. The principle of education policy during the Covid-19 pandemic is to prioritize the health and safety of students, educators, education staff, families, and society in general, as well as considering the growth and development of students and psychosocial conditions in an effort to fulfill educational services during the Covid-19 pandemic. The government has issued various policies and initiatives to deal with learning obstacles during the Covid-19 pandemic, such as the revision of the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Four Ministers which was issued on August 7, 2020, to adjust learning policies in the current pandemic era. In addition, schools are given the flexibility to choose a curriculum that suits the learning needs of students during the pandemic, as stipulated in the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the curriculum during an emergency. In connection with the above phenomenon, parents in Garot Cut Village who are too busy with their work pay less attention and lack of understanding in playing their role in children's education, so that parents think that the role of education is more for teachers in schools than their parents. Based on the evaluation and simulation on training from community service activities, it can be seen that with the training, the role of parents in creating the use of the internet for education is still very rarely done. . In addition, the service program presented adds insight for parents how the role of parents and teachers in building children's habits to use the internet for learning has not been carried out. The role of parents and teachers is very important, because they are people who deal directly with children in the family environment and teacher schools.
