Recent years have seen a disconnect between much-needed real-world skills and knowledge imparted to cybersecurity graduates by higher education institutions. As employers are shifting their focus to skills and competencies when hiring fresh graduates, higher education institutions are facing a call to action to design curricula that impart relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies to their graduates, and to devise effective means to assess them. Some institutions have successfully engaged with industry partners in creating apprenticeship programs and work-based learning for their students. However, not all educational institutions have similar capabilities and resources. A trend in engineering, computer science, and information technology programs across the United States is to design project-based or scenario-based curricula that impart relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies. At our institution, we have taken an innovative approach in designing our cybersecurity courses using scenario-based learning and assessing knowledge, skills, and competencies using scenario-guiding questions. We have used the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Hiring Cybersecurity Workforce report for skills, knowledge, and competency mapping. This paper highlights our approach, presenting its overall design and two example mappings.

This paper aims to explain the factors that influence entrepreneurship programs in the Independent Campus policy. This paper is part of an Independent Campus policy study initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020 with objects in 5 (five) universities: 2 (two) accredited A, 2 (two) accredited B, and 1 (one) accredited C The data was collected through on-line discussions, particularly regarding entrepreneurship programs. This study also distributed questionnaires related to questions about entrepreneurship programs to respondents from representatives of rectorate leaders, faculties, study programs, lecturers, and others. The analysis was carried out through quantitative techniques with the help of the Lisrel 87.0 program technique, enriched with qualitative techniques based on information obtained from on-line discussions. The results of the study found that campus policy factors, apprenticeship programs, and exploration of local potential had a positive effect on competency development, application, and entrepreneurship learning. In addition, learning that takes into account these factors also affect students' commitment to become entrepreneurs after completing their studies. The implementation of entrepreneurship programs must pay attention to these influencing factors, the contribution of indicators for each factor, and apply recognition related to standard processes and achievement of competency program results.   Received: 15 February 2021 / Accepted: 23 June 2021 / Published: 8 July 2021

One of the objectives of vocational school is to develop an entrepreneur. Via vocational high school education, students are provided with entrepreneurship learning so that they are able. Students are often exposed to the business community to find out what the real world of entrepreneurship is like. First, this paper will outline the goals and growth of Indonesia’s Vocational High School, respective government policies respectively. Second, the introduction of entrepreneurship education through academic programs, the introduction of apprenticeship programs, and assessment respectively. In Indonesia, through the vocational school curriculum program, entrepreneurship education is included as a compulsory subject and is strengthened by the experience of the industrial world through an internship in the development of an entrepreneur.

The most important aspect in undergoing an internship (internship) is to produce students who are more ready to undergo the world of work and professionally, which is carried out through internship activities. With internship activities, students can find out what skills they have so far. This study aims to determine the effect of internships on student competencies. This type of research uses qualitative research, namely, the data obtained is theory development and describes theory. The data collection technique was carried out using observation and interviews which were conducted through question and answer between the researcher and the resource person. The results of the case studies show that the internship program has a very meaningful role or contribution for students to improve the competence of soft skills & hard skills. And it also shows that the habits and attitudes that students have are very important compared to the knowledge and skills that can be obtained in a short time and increasing student competence through apprenticeship programs can reach professional standards and serve as a provision for experience for working in the next place. The internship program to Japan is expected to be able to reduce unemployment due to missmatch between the type and quality of labor produced by the world of education towards the workforce needs in the industrial world. However, the number of graduates of the selection of apprenticeship programs to Japan through government channels is still low, which is below 30% compared to private channels whose graduation rates can reach 95%. The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the internal factors and eksternal factors of internship program to Japan and to analyze and find out the strategies that must be done by the government to increase the number of graduates of the selection. This study uses primary and secondary data with descriptive analysis method and SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicate that the internal factor of strength is a particular government program. The weakness of the program is the lack of socialization. eksternal factor Opportunities in the internship program to Japan are to get business capital after an internship to prepare a business. The biggest threat is that selection costs are still quite high. The strategy that can be done to increase the number of graduates of the selection of apprenticeship programs to Japan through government pathway in Central Java is with an aggressive strategy. Program magang ke Jepang diharapkan dapat mengurangi pengangguran karena adanya ketidaksesuaian antara jenis dan kualitas tenaga kerja yang dihasilkan oleh dunia pendidikan terhadap kebutuhan tenaga kerja di dunia industri. Namun, jumlah lulusan yang memilih program pemagangan ke Jepang melalui saluran pemerintah masih rendah, yaitu di bawah 30% dibandingkan dengan saluran swasta yang tingkat kelulusannya bisa mencapai 95%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan menentukan faktor internal dan faktor eksternal dari program magang ke Jepang dan untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui strategi yang harus dilakukan oleh pemerintah untuk meningkatkan jumlah lulusan seleksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan sekunder dengan metode analisis deskriptif dan analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor kekuatan internal adalah program pemerintah tertentu. Kelemahan program adalah kurangnya sosialisasi. faktor eksternal Peluang dalam program magang ke Jepang adalah untuk mendapatkan modal bisnis setelah magang untuk mempersiapkan bisnis. Ancaman terbesar adalah biaya seleksi masih cukup tinggi. Strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk menambah jumlah lulusan dalam pemilihan program magang ke Jepang melalui jalur pemerintah di Jawa Tengah adalah dengan strategi yang agresif.

This study aims to find out how the influence of apprenticeship programs and life skills training partially or simultaneously influences the growth of new entrepreneurs. This research was carried out in the city of Medan with a total sample of 100 community members who had been nurtured through apprenticeship programs and life skills training organized by the North Sumatra UMKM Center. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with MPDEL multiple linear regression analysis. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through questionnaires. The results show that all indicators of apprenticeship program variables, life skills training, and new entrepreneurial growth are valid and reliable so that they are worthy of being used for sample testing. The results of the sample test show that partially apprenticeship and Life Skills Training influence the growth of new entrepreneurs. Simultaneously there is the influence of apprenticeship and life skills training on the growth of new entrepreneurs.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakan pengaruh program pemagangan dan pelatihan kecakapan hidup secara parsial maupun simultan berpengaruh terhadap penumbuhan wirausaha baru. Penelitian ini laksanakan di kota Medan dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 100 orang warga masyarakat yang telah dibina melalui program pemagangan dan pelatihan kecakapan hidup yang diselenggarakan oleh UMKM Center Sumatera Utara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah data primer. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian adalah teknik angket dan wawancara. Kuesioner yang dikembangkan terlebih dahulu diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, kemudian disebar kepada sampel. Model analisis data penelitian adalah model regresi linier berganda. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa semua indicator ukur variabel program pemagangan, pelatihan kecakapan hidup, dan penumbuhan wirausaha baru valid dan reliable sehingga layak digunakan untuk uji sampel. Hasil uji sampel menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial pemagangan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penumbuhan wirausaha baru, dan Pelatihan kecakapan hidup berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penumbuhan wirausaha baru. Secara simultan pemagangan dan pelatihan kecakapan hidup memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap penumbuhan wirausaha baru.
