In Cambodia, orphan dance shows were once popular as a way to preserve endangered art forms and to cultivate children's dignity and well-being. But they came to be seen as exploitative instead, and today are nearly nonexistent. This article examines the confluence of changes that caused this reversal of opinion. The reversal is due to both covert factors such as changes in constructions of childhood, and overt factors such as changes in audience composition. The rise and fall of Cambodian orphan dance shows took place largely within foreign communities, with little local input.

The practice of the climbing boys in the business of sweeping chimneys was spread in England during the Industrial Age (18th - 19th c.). The question of boys’ exploitation is part of the problem of child labour, but it precedes and outlives the overall child exploitation in the factories and mines. This is a sphere where the English society demonstrates conservatism and reluctance to change the attitude to the children of the poor families. The needed legislation was postponed and cost several generations of miserable and deprived boys, losing their health, and often their lives in the chimneys of the rich owners of buildings and mansions. The compassion of some citizens was not enough to convince the lawmakers that the life of children was more valuable than their houses. This was the main topic of the discussions between the lords and the reformers in the Parliament. The struggle for the protection of the climbing boys started in the late 18th c. and is considered successfully finished with the Act of 1875.

Exploitation of children is an act that is prohibited by statutory regulations. Several laws and regulations, both the results of ratification of international conventions and laws and regulations issued by Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the criminal sanctions against child exploitation actors in Indonesia. The research method used is the normative juridical method, which is sourced from statutory regulations and literature. The research results show that child exploitation still occurs in Indonesia. The reason for the economic exploitation of children is poverty. The existence of criminal sanctions contained in statutory regulations has not yet provided a deterrent effect for perpetrators of child exploitation. So it is necessary to have the role of the central and local governments in order to reduce child exploitation, namely by enforcing both laws and regional regulations. Law enforcers, especially prosecutors and judges, provide maximum sanctions or threats to perpetrators of child exploitation. Exploitation of child labor will eliminate the existing rights of children such as playing and learning.

One of the most common forms of child exploitation in the world is early marriage. Although the number of underage marriages has declined to some extent, it continues to rise in a number of countries. Early marriage usually means the marriage of a child under the age of 18. Many of these marriages are also referred to as "child and forced marriages" because they are performed without conscious consent. Early marriage separates children from their families and peers, exposes them to domestic violence, and jeopardizes their development, educational, social and professional opportunities. Such marriages can also lead to psychological problems such as depression, adaptation disorders, post-traumatic stress, and suicide attempts. This review article aims to assess the causes and psychosocial consequences of early marriage. Key words: Family age, child exploitation, psychosocial aspects
