Information on the International Genetic Classification of Noble Corundum is given. The scheme of location of the main deposits and occurrences of ruby-bearing complexes of the world is attached: 1 – magmatic; 2 – metamorphogenic; 3 – sedimentary (residual ancient crusts of chemical weathering, alluvial and dealluvial-alluvial placers). The location of ruby objects is shown, including the largest areas of depleted, currently operating and promising for the near future ruby deposits in 36 countries around the world. The main typological features of rubies are described. It is emphasized that all properties of rubies are determined by their primary indigenous origin. The typology of rubies is based on the principles of the relationship between magmatism and metamorphism in the formation of the groups under consideration. Hydroblasting and selective crushing methods for mining of corundum-bearing complexes are characterised. The trend towards increased research into the commercial exploitation of the primary sources of ruby-bearing complexes is highlighted. In countries with highly developed mining industries, underground mining is the main way to extract gemstones.

This paper aims to analyze the use of Brazilian shale gas in power generation, including carbon dioxide capture by cogeneration from the flue gases (CCU – Carbon Capture Utilization). Besides producing electricity, the idea is to generate additional revenue by making the carbon dioxide stream available to companies interested in its commercial exploitation, requiring its recovery, purification, and liquefaction.

Purpose. To analyze an array of special scientific literature and summarize the obtained information on the commercial exploitation of the Kуiv reservoir as a fishery water body. To review main abiotic conditions of the reservoir, which exist and form the specificity of its commercial use by the fishery industry of Ukraine. To highlight the historical course of their impact on the fish fauna of the Kyiv Reservoir and general forecasts for its future transformations. Findings. An overview of scientific publications devoted to the specifics of commercial exploitation of the Kуiv reservoir as a fishery water body from the moment of its creation to the present day were presented. In particular, following was analyzed: hydrological regime, color and chemical composition of water, oxygen regime, accumulation of heavy metals, formation of bottom sediments and landscape. In addition, the radioecological situation in the reservoir was anazyed, both general and in three most significant areas for fisheries — in bottom sediments, macrophytes, and fish fauna. The literature data on the specificity of the above-mentioned abiotic factors in this reservoir, which form the hydro-ecological feature of this reservoir, were generalized. The main directions of their influence on the ichthyofauna of the Kуiv reservoir, which affect the possibility of its commercial exploitation, were described. The share of anthropogenic origin in the composition of the above-mentioned abiotic factors and the consequences of its impact were highlighted. The perspective ways of further development of the Kiev reservoir as a fishery water body of strategic importance for Ukraine were shown. Practical Value. The review may be useful for scientists, PhD students, students, government authorities, and private entrepreneurs involved in research process or exploatation of aquatic living resources in internal water bodies, primarily in the Kуiv reservoir. China has been making efforts in nature conservation by developing a new national park system. Setting a fee-based entrance policy for the newly established national parks can be challenging without information on visitors’ willingness to pay (WTP). Thus, this study aims to evaluate visitors’ WTP entrance fees with a dataset of 1215 visitors collected in China’s planned Qinling National Park (QNP). Using the double bounded dichotomous choice format of the contingent valuation method, we obtained the mean WTP for the entrance fee of QNP of 200 yuan. Visitors’ demand becomes relatively inelastic at the recommended entrance fee of 160 yuan when the expected ticket revenue will reach its maximum of 13.8 billion yuan. Our study also indicates that visitors’ WTP is significantly influenced by their gender difference, education level, income, number of trips to natural attractions, duration of stay, the intention of a future visit, and concern about commercial exploitation. Our empirical study provides insights into developing effective pricing policies and appropriate marketing strategies for China’s new national park system.

Plants are prone to encounter some environmental stresses that include both biotic and abiotic. Plants in response to these stress conditions alter their metabolism at the genetic level with consequential effects at the metabolite production. Phenolic compounds, which are secondary metabolites are one such chemical entity which plays a significant role in various physiological processes of the plant. They are mainly formed by three different types of metabolic pathways that produce phenyl propanoid derivatives, flavonoids, terpenoids based on the needs of the plant and the rate of their production is solely dictated by the type of stress condition. A number of phenolic compounds like phytoalexins, phytoanticipins and nematicides exhibit negative response to biotic stress against several soil borne pathogens and nematodes. But some of the phenolic compounds like acetosyringone, umbelliferone, vanillyl alcohol, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, apigenin and luteolin are found to exhibit beneficial effects to plants by encouraging rhizosphere formation particularly in Leguminosae family. Some of the ROS produced in various stress conditions are effectively dealt by various phenolics with antioxidant activity like hydroxyl benzoic acids and hydroxyl cinnamic acids. As the in vivo production of phenolics in plants is influenced by external factors it can certainly provide information for the adoption of agronomic practices to yield the full befits of commercial exploitation. Les produits forestiers ligneux (PFL) et non ligneux (PFNL) jouent un rôle important pour le bien-être des populations au Cameroun. Malheureusement, elles font face à plusieurs menaces telle que l’exploitation commerciale de la ressource et l’exploitation anarchique de bois d’œuvre ; l’absence ou l’insuffisance de donnée scientifiques nécessaires pour les prises de décision d’aménagement. L’objectif de l’étude est d’identifier et d’évaluer la disponibilité des espèces végétales dans la forêt de la station polyvalente de recherche agricole d’Abong Mbang. Un inventaire d’aménagement a été effectué avec un taux de sondage de 5%. Il ressort de cette étude qu’il y une extrême diversité des PFL et PFNL dans la zone d’étude. Un total de 69 PFL (bois d’œuvre) et 18 PFNL sont utilisées dans la localité pour l’alimentation, la santé ou l’ornement. Les fruits et les feuilles sont généralement utilisés pour la consommation alors que les écorces sont à usage médicinale. Les connaissances ancestrales des populations locales sur cette ressource est approfondie et contribue à leur bien-être ont une des PFNL.   Timber and non-timber forest products (NTFPs) play an important role for the well-being of the populations in Cameroon.  Unfortunately, they face several threats such as the commercial exploitation of the resource and the uncontrolled exploitation of timber; the lack or insufficiency of scientific data necessary for management decisions. The objective of the study is to identify and evaluate the availability of plant species in the forest of the Abong-Mbang Agricultural Research Station. A  management inventory was conducted with a sampling rate of 5%. The study revealed that there is an extreme diversity of LFAs and NTFPs in the study area. A total of 69 LFWPs (timber) and 18 NTFPs are used in the locality for food, health or ornamental purposes. Fruits and leaves are generally used for consumption while barks are used for medicinal purposes. The ancestral knowledge of local populations on this resource is deep and contributes to their well-being have a NTFP.

The study hypothesis is determined by the statement that the identification of a set of issues covering all stages of introducing technogenic deposits into economic turnover will allow focusing on solving a set of complex problems associated with technogenic mineral accumulations (mining waste). The aim of the study was to identify problems requiring priority resolution, which, in turn, accelerated the transition to a circular economy (implementation of the concept of closed supply chains) in the context of handling technogenic mineral accumulations. In the course of the study, issues of legal nature were identified (caused by the absence of the legal status of technogenic deposits and the regulation of their use regime in the Federal Law of the Russian Federation “On Subsoil”). A number of aspects are due to the complexity and cost of development of technogenic deposits, which are rightfully classified as unconventional types of raw materials, and in most cases require state support (for involving in commercial exploitation) in the form of a system of economic incentives, the feasibility of which should be confirmed by newly-elaborated regulatory legal acts. State should use the tools of public-private partnership in solving waste problems, in particular, referring to the positively proven experience of implementing regional target programs for processing of technogenic mineral accumulations. Viability of transition to circular economy in the sphere of handling technogenic mineral accumulations depends on the timeliness of the identified problems solution.

The pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) presents potential for commercial exploitation as a fruit, ornamental or medicinal plant. However, for its usage in orchards, it is ideal that the seedlings come from vegetative propagation techniques. The aim of this work was to test the usage of indolebutyric acid (IBA) and substrates, at two harvesting times (before and after fruiting) in the cutting propagation of pomegranate. The work was carried out at UTFPR, Campus Dois Vizinhos. The experiments were installed in a randomized block design, in a 4 x 4 factorial scheme (IBA concentration x substrate), with four replications and ten cuttings per experimental unit. IAB was tested at concentrations 0; 1000; 2000 and 3000 mg L-1. The used substrates were Red Latosol, medium textured sand, commercial substrate MecPlant® and a mixture of Red Latosol + sand + commercial (1:1:1, v/v). The cuttings were placed in beds in a screened protected environment, with 50% shading. Irrigation was performed three times a day for 30 min., by a micro sprinkler. After 60 days, rooting (%), cuttings with callus (%), number of primary leaf and root shoots, length of the three largest roots and percentage of dead cuttings were evaluated. Cutting presented itself as a potential technique to be adopted for pomegranate, using sand, with the use of IBA at concentrations between 1600 and 1750 mg L-1. Cuttings must be collected before fruiting. However, rhizogenesis close to 50% was achieved at the time after such phenological stage.
