Scholars believe that computational thinking is one of the essential competencies of the 21st century and computer programming courses have been recognized as a potential means of fostering students’ computational thinking. In tradition instruction, PFCT (problem identification, flow definition, coding, and testing) is a commonly adopted procedure to guide students to learn and practice computer programming. However, without further guidance, students might focus on learning the syntax of computer programming language rather than the concept of solving problems. This study proposes a peer-assessment-supported PFCT (PA-PFCT) approach for boosting students’ computer programming knowledge and computational thinking awareness. A quasi-experiment was conducted on a computer programming course in a high school to evaluate its influence on students’ learning achievement, computational thinking awareness, learning motivation, and self-efficacy. An experimental group of 51 students learned with the proposed approach, while a control group of 49 students learned with the traditional PFCT (T-PFCT) approach. The experimental results show that the proposed approach significantly enhanced the students’ computational thinking awareness, learning motivation, and self-efficacy, while not having significant impacts on their computer programming knowledge test scores.

Abstract Background: Zambia is among the African countries with a high perinatal mortality rate. Though programs teaching medical practitioners about advanced neonatal resuscitation have reduced deaths and improved survival, more information is needed to further decrease morbidity and mortality in newborns. The objectives of this study was to implement a Perinatal Problem Identification Program (PPIP) to improve collection of information on early and late neonatal mortalities. Methods: The Perinatal Problem Identification Program was implemented in the Neonatal intensive Care unit of the Women and Newborn Hospital in Lusaka Zambia. The program started on 1 May 2019 and ended on 31 December 2019. Data entry was conducted and analysis was undertaken using the PPIP computer based software program. The PPIP software calculated neonatal deaths and their causes. Results: The Neonatal intensive care unit at women and newborn hospital recorded a total of 2640 deaths in 7 months from May 1st 2019 to 31st December 2019.The highest cause of death was prematurity with its complications at 126 (54%) in the sampled 238 recorded deaths. Followed by infection at 46 (19%) and hypoxia at 44 (18%). These deaths ranged from birth weights of less than 1000 grams to more than 2500 grams. Conclusion: The results reveal that it is possible to implement PPIP in Zambia and its use eases the audit review process, which combined with audit review meetings can improve the quality of care of neonates in the neonatal intensive care unit.

This study investigates the application and recognition of accounting policies for ownership of Cryptocurrency assets by companies in Indonesia based on Financial Accounting Standards. This study uses a qualitative method with a scoping review approach to map the literature related to the concept of cryptocurrency and accounting arrangements for cryptocurrency ownership by companies. The scoping review carried out several stages, namely problem identification, identifying literature sources, literature selection, mapping and collecting literature, and discussion analysis. This study concludes that ownership of cryptocurrency by companies can be classified as assets based on IFRS and PSAK. The most relevant type of asset classification for Cryptocurrencies is inventory or intangible assets, depending on the purpose of ownership of the company. This research indicates that with the significant increase in the use of cryptocurrencies, standard-setting bodies need to set clear and specific accounting standards to help reduce uncertainty and provide relevant and useful guidance to both preparers and users of financial statements.

One of the critical factors of project success is the interface management. Past project interface management mainly relies on knowledge and experience of the project managers. The existing studies of project interface management also mainly focused on the definition and the classification of project interfaces. There is no workable and flexible framework for construction interface problem identification and solutions. This study conducted an analogic study of contradiction matrix at Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) to develop such a framework. This research collected around six hundred interface management cases from civil works and building projects. For comparison, this research defined an experimental group (TRIZ case) and a control group (experience-oriented solution case) based on the concept of clinical experiments in medical science to evaluate and improve the rationality of the matrix. Subsequently, based upon the theory of information retrieval (IR), this research conducted statistical evaluation and TRIZ features remedies to develop generalized construction interface problem identification and solutions. For solving project management interface problems, the TRIZ-analogic construction interface problem identification and solutions framework provides a systematic approach to develop more robust solutions for interface problems in construction engineering rather than just simply relying on intuitive experience.

This study aims to find the right strategy for increasing scientific publications for students of the Department of International Relations, UPN 'Veteran' Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Thus, it is essential to consider the low number of scientific publications produced by students considering that scientific publications are an obligation for academics. The Director-General of Higher Education Letter No. 152/E/T/2012 concerning the duty of scientific publications for students and Regulation of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education Number 5 of 2019 concerning Study Program Accreditation Instruments requires publication and citation student scientific articles. The research uses action research to find strategies for increasing scientific publications where there are three research steps: identifying problems, making and testing procedures, and evaluating. The second step is to try the strategy based on problem identification. Problem identification is made through an online open questionnaire. The third step is the evaluation of the action research. Experiments conducted to influence student behavior in scientific writing showed that socialization and coaching clinics were needed to increase knowledge about scientific writing and encourage ideas. While writing assistance can produce student scientific publications because of its nature and able to foster comfort. This empirical evidence provides insights for the manager of student scientific journals and department managers to provide formulations for improving students' quality and quantity of scientific publications.   Received: 11 August 2021 / Accepted: 3 October 2021 / Published: 5 November 2021
