The article addresses the factors that influence students’ trust in the teachers, faculty administration and university administration. Establishing trusting relationships at the university leads to a number of positive effects: for example, it facilitates cooperation between members of educational organization, making them more united, open to communication and motivated; it is a prerequisite for academic excellence, high-quality higher education and loyalty. This is the reason of the researchers’ interest to this topic. However, the factors influencing students’ trust in teachers and university management have yet to be defined. This paper examines the individual, socio-economic and institutional characteristics of student trust. The emphasis is placed on subjective factors – the perception and assessment by young people of what happens with them in the learning process. It is shown that students’ trust in the teachers and university management is positively correlated with their justified expectations (satisfaction), regarding higher education, and negatively correlated with the course of study. The influence of gender is significant when students trust in the administration of the faculty, while the influence of family income is significant when they trust in the administration of the university. Moreover, the last two factors are regionally specific: their effects are significant only for the trust of students studying at Moscow and St. Petersburg universities.

When the rationality and importance of cultural education in colleges and universities have been confirmed, the key question is how to better realize cultural education. This requires an in-depth understanding and grasp of the cultural education work of colleges and universities, analyzing the internal logic contained in this education system and then discussing its practical rationale. This paper proposes a multiobjective Support Vector Machine (SVM) image recognition method for college cultural and educational behaviors based on three decision-making theories. Aimed at the problem of classification errors caused by image segmentation in image recognition of cultural and educational behaviors in colleges and universities, it is found that the reason that causes the same target to be divided into different subblocks is that the ordinary SVM classifier has only two choices of “yes” and “not” in classification. It is impossible to set the conditions for the classification of cultural and educational behavior images to satisfy all the existing conditions. In order to solve the above problems, this paper combines the three decision-making ideas with the image recognition of university cultural education behaviors and designs a multiobjective SVM image recognition method of university cultural education behaviors based on the three decision-making theories. We establish a higher education service quality structure model and use LISREL to explore the causal relationship among students’ perceived service quality, university image, student’s perceived service value, student trust, student satisfaction, and student behavior intentions in the field of higher education. The empirical results show that student satisfaction has a significant direct and positive effect on student behavior. Service quality has a significant direct and positive impact on perceived value and student trust. The perceived risk of higher education services determines the image of colleges and universities, and student trust plays an important role. The image of colleges and universities acts on student satisfaction through perceived value and student trust. The image of colleges and universities has a direct impact on students’ behavioral inclination, and it acts on students’ behavioral inclination through student trust and student satisfaction. Among the influences on behavior tendency, the direct positive effect of student trust is the largest, followed by the image of colleges and universities and the quality of service.

The approach to building university image deals with student trust, student satisfaction, and student loyalty. However, few studies are available on university image context and its role on student loyalty. University image is considered a vital component of the educational sectors' success in recent years. With the current increase in public and private universities across Malaysia, the academic industry has become increasingly competitive. The circumstance necessitates Universities to focus their energies on creating a positive corporate image by increasing student loyalty. Trust and satisfaction play an essential role in order to achieve and maintain student loyalty. The research also reviewed the relationship between student trust and student satisfaction to establish their relationship with student loyalty.

Trust between the supervisor and student is the most important element that can pave the way to the completion of a postgraduate degree. If the trust is eroded, it may be difficult for both supervisor and student to work in tandem for the common goal of completing a research study. Trust is the responsibility of both supervisor and student. Using an exploratory case study design, this study sought to explore issues that can erode supervisor-student trust. For data generation, semi-structured interviews were used for five master’s and five PhD students who had completed their degrees; these students were purposively sampled. Data were thematically analysed, and revealed that a harsh manner of approach, a temperamental supervisor, long turnaround time, communication barriers, failure to understand a student’s circumstances, impatience and intolerance, unfair treatment and disrespect can erode supervisor-student trust. Therefore, this study recommends that supervisors should always recognise that the manner in which they interact with students may either make or break that trust. Supervisors should give prompt feedback to students while students can still remember what they wrote. They should always bear in mind that students have other big responsibilities, and take that into account when relating with them.   Received: 4 May 2021 / Accepted: 21 July 2021 / Published: 5 November 2021

This study aims to test the overall satisfaction of the beneficiary students with the quality of e-learning service at King Khalid University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. More specifically, this study investigates "the effect of the variables of an e-learning service quality dimensions, which include six dimensions on an overall students' satisfaction variable as a dependent variable, in addition to the two variables of student trust, and Positive Word of Mouth, which were used as mediator variables. The descriptive and analytical approach was used in this study, and a total of 729 copies of a questionnaire were obtained for the analyses which was representing the study population that consisted of all students at King Khalid University. So, this study tested the relationships between the variables, in purpose of testing the quality of measurements, as well as the study hypotheses testing. The results obtained from the analysis provided support for the theoretical model of the study, and confirmed the existence of a statistically significant impact relationship between the most variables, as well as The results showed that the positive word of mouth variable also mediates the relationship between students' trust and their overall satisfaction with the e-learning service at King Khalid University. Based on the results of the study, the theoretical and practical implications of the results of the study were discussed, in addition to providing recommendations and suggestions for future studies.

eLearning practitioners are eager to know what factors affect the effectiveness of online learning and how they can implement evidence-based evaluation to examine and improve their organizations. This study adopted the learning sciences evaluation checklist to successfully evaluate a military-based training and learning organization via a semi-structured interview and provide actionable recommendations afterward. The criteria include educational networks, human-centered evaluations, administrator-instructor trust, institution-student trust, organization support-level strategies, support services, humans/technological support infrastructures, and class size flexibility. Seven practitioner take-aways were provided to ease the use of the checklist.

The purpose of this empirical study is to investigate the effects of Emotional Intelligence (EI) on learning outcomes (social, cognitive, self-growth outcomes and satisfaction with the university experience) of students in Chinese research universities. This study further examines the mediating role of student trust in teachers (emotional and cognitive learning) and learning orientation (commitment to learning) in the relationship between EI and learning outcomes. This intent of this study was to examine the direct effects of learning outcomes on students’ academic efficacy (cognitive skills and standardised tests). This study used a sample frame of 454 students from research universities in China. The relationships were tested through the partial least squares’ structural equation modelling method. The results reveal that EI has a significant impact on learning outcomes. Furthermore, an indirect relation between EI and learning outcomes is established through student trust in teachers and in the learning orientation. The direct relation between learning outcomes and student academic efficacy is also established. There is a lack of studies that investigate the relationship of EI, student trust in teachers, learning orientation, learning outcomes and student academic efficacy. This is one of the initial research studies that not only empirically examine the interface of EI and learning outcomes of students of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) but offers insights into the existing literature by concurrent investigation of the mediating role of student trust in teachers and in the learning orientation in fundamental association, while explaining the association between learning outcomes and students’ better academic efficacy.
