Cell penetrating peptides (CPPs) are peptides that can directly adapt to cell membranes and then permeate into cells. CPPs are usually covalently linked to the surface of nanocarriers to endow their permeability to the whole system. However, hybrids with lipids or polymers make the metabolism much more sophisticated and even more difficult to determine. In this study, we present a continuous sequence of 18 amino acids (FFAARTMIWY(d-P)GAWYKRI). It forms nanospheres around 170 nm, which increase slightly after loading with siRNA and DOX. Notably, it can be internalized by cancer cells mainly through electronic interactions and PD-L1-mediated endocytosis. Compared with poly-l-lysine and polyethyleneimine, it has a much higher efficiency (about four times) of gene transduction while lowering toxicity. In the treatment of cancer, it causes apoptosis (21%) and inhibits the expression of SURVIVIN protein in vitro. In vivo, it shows good biocompatibility as there are no changes in mice’s body weight. When administering peptide-siRNA-DOX, tumor growth is inhibited the most (about three times). These results above prove the sequence to be a good candidate for gene therapy and drug delivery.

Abstract Length-of-day (LOD) change, i.e., variations in Earth’s rotation rate, includes the long-term slowdown trend, as well as periodic and irregular fluctuations. The current continuous sequence of the LOD change covers a time span of <400 years. Using astronomical records in ancient historical documents, combined with a modern astronomical ephemeris, it is possible to obtain ancient LOD change. Some scholars have given a discontinuous LOD data series for the past 4000 years. In this paper, the author uses the Lomb–Scargle periodogram to study the LOD series and finds a significant quasi-1500-year-cycle signal. Furthermore, with weighted wavelet Z-transform, time-varying characteristics of the cycle in the LOD change are obtained.

Cantor’s paradise from the perspective of non‐revisionist Wittgensteinianism: Ludwig Wittgenstein is known for his criticism of transfinite set theory. He forwards the claim that we tend to conceptualise infinity as an object due to the systematic confusion of extension with in‐ tension. There can be no mathematical symbol that directly refers to infinity: a rule is the only form by which the latter can appear in our symbolic operations. In consequence, Wittgenstein rejects such ideas as infinite cardinals, the Cantorian understanding of non‐denumerability, and the view of real numbers as a continuous sequence of points on a number line. Moreover, as he understands mathematics to be an anthropological phenomenon, he rejects set theory due to its lack of application. As I argue here, it is possible to defend Georg Cantor’s theory by taking a standpoint I call quietistic conventionalism. The standpoint broadly resembles Wittgenstein’s formalist middle period and allows us to view transfinite set theory as a result of a series of definitions established by arbitrary decisions that have no ontological consequences. I point to the fact that we are inclined to accept such definitions because of certain psycho‐ logical mechanisms such as the hypothetical Basic Metaphor of Infinity proposed by George Lakoff and Rafael E. Núñez. Regarding Wittgenstein’s criterion of applicability, I argue that it presupposes a static view of science. Therefore, we should not rely on it because we are unable to foresee what will turn out to be useful in the future.

The Shi Jun sarcophagus (580 CE), a house-shaped stone coffin of a Sogdian immigrant couple, is one of the most important Silk Road discoveries ever made (figure 1). Excavated in Xi'an (Shaanxi Province, China) in 2003, it belongs to a group of sarcophagi created for Sogdian community leaders in sixth-century China that have been uncovered over the course of the past century, primarily in the last two decades. The Shi Jun sarcophagus sets itself apart from the others with an epitaph inscribed in both Chinese and Sogdian. The epitaph recounts the migration of a Sogdian couple from Central Asia to the Chinese heartland. Even more unusual than this inscription is the exterior of the sarcophagus, which is carved with a continuous sequence of narrative reliefs. These represent the deceased's multifaceted journey on the Silk Road.

The quality management system is still an under-research area. This article provides an understanding of the «connecting processes» category for the further development of the theory and the practice of the quality management. A business organization must continuously create and improve the types and the forms of the communication, the management decisions and the balance. This is achieved through their continuous sequence. The work identifies the main criteria and parameters of the quality, the requirements and the conditions for the quality ensuring of the linking processes, identifies the key management indicators in the implementation of the linking processes

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the political philosophy of the ancestor of French spiritualism based on documents published at the turn of the 20th–21st centuries. The specificity of his worldview in the early period of philosophical activity is considered, as well as the reasons that prompted him to turn to politics after the Thermidorian coup. Negative attitude towards the Jacobeans, regrets about the fall of the monarchy are very characteristic of his views during this period. He meets the Thermidorian republic and then the empire with hopes for close peace, social stability, based on strict observance of laws. At first, he praises Napoleon as a genius who “pacifies and comforts”. But then comes disappointment, a continuous sequence of wars leads him to condemn the Napoleonic policy as part of the “commission of five” of legislative corps in December 1813. The philosopher meets the restoration as an event consistent with the plans of Providence. Undoubtedly, the appeal to religious philosophy was largely motivated by Biran's political experience.

A formula is presented to calculate the rate of bulk fluid flow in accord with hydrodynamic flow parameters and physical-chemical characteristics of pumping fluids. The formula was derived based on a model knowledge of fluid flow as a continuous sequence of strains — rotations of fluid fragments by the action of shear stress. Laboratory testing of volumetric flow rate depending on the hydrodynamic flow parameters and physical-chemical properties of liquids performed on a turbulent rheometer and as working fluids used ethanol and gasoline. The power and logarithmic dependences of the volume velocity were also checked using real data from the operation of oilfield pipelines. The results obtained satisfactory agree with the calculated data.

A subnucleonic structure of light nuclei comprises an alternating up and down quark sequence (AQS) that accounts for the measured RMS charge radii with an agreement of >99% and statistical correlation of ρ = 0.99, p<0.001. An interpretation of the uncertainty principle in terms of uncertainty in energy and time, coupled with Chaos theory as relates to linked harmonic oscillators, allows localization of average quark position. Structures incorporate equally spaced quarks around regular polyhedron geometries. The distance between neighboring quarks in a sequence is constant and equal to the radius of the proton. Light nuclei from H-3 to Li-7 conform to ring structures whose radii are calculated from the formula of a regular polygon having n sides, each side equal to the radius of the proton, and n vertices, each occupied by a quark. Quark-quark interactions link nucleons to maintain a continuous sequence of alternating equally spaced quarks. Parallel strands of quark sequences overlap so that protons overlap with neutrons. Regular polyhedron structures yield better radius predictions; larger nuclei tend to be less regular and less predictable (with the exception of C-12). The relative certainty in the accepted radius of helium-4, and its geometric relationship tithe proton radius, allow a prediction for the proton radius of 0.8673±0.0014 fm.

The field of object tracking extends across different domains. It is a major key player in the field of image processing and pattern recognition. Object tracking is the process of tracking an object over a continuous sequence of image frames to determine over time the relative movements or changes. With the massive advancements in the field of deep learning, the use of deep neural networks has risen due to their impressive accomplishments in object detection and tracking. In this Survey, the objective is to give a comprehensive overview of the recent attempts in the field of object tracking with a focus on the use of deep learning techniques and algorithms. The paper is divided into four sections; at first, we will give an overview of the recent work to highlight the techniques and methods which have been used in object tracking using deep learning. The second section focus is on the object tracking that uses convolutional networks techniques. The third section focuses on some of the recurrent neural networks to tack objects. The final section is concentrated on auto-encoders object tracking.
