This paper argues for the importance of religious literacy in the American public education system in relation to Islam, a religion that is not only growing in relevance that is also subject to various misconceptions in American society. The author outlines what an appropriate lesson plan about Islam would look like in the context of a secular classroom while pointing out limitations and shortfalls in current lesson plans. Additionally, the multiple controversies raised by teaching about Islam in public schools, particularly on behalf of conservative media outlets, are highlighted to emphasize the difference between proselytization - which is unconstitutional - and religious literacy - which is key to providing a well-rounded education to American students.

Golubovich. The manuals and books in the Ukrainian language with the help of educating the people about the formulation of their national consciousness have been analyzed. The assessment of the pedagogical study and methods of the study of the Ukrainian language and history decline was made.It is noted that N. Hryhoriyiv took a course on the revival of education, namely: primary education, native language, customs, and traditions in educational institutions. This period is characterized by the study of the Ukrainian language in primary school, the teaching of the Ukrainian language in teachers'  seminaries, the creation of Ukrainian gymnasiums. The purpose of the article is to highlight the issues of primary education in the creative heritage of the Ukrainian teacher Nikifor Yakovlevich Hryhoriyiv (1883–1953). To write the article, we used the following methods: periodization – to determine in accordance with reasonable criteria for the selection of periods of educational activity of the scientist; method of reconstruction – to reproduce the socio-cultural and socio-political context of educational development; interpretations – for creative rethinking of pedagogical ideas of N. Grigoriev taking into account modern educational and organizational-pedagogical tasks. N. Hryhoriyiv's activity as the Minister of Education of the Ukrainian People's Republic was aimed at the nationalization of the public education system, which could educate a new generation of conscious citizens of Ukraine. After becoming the Minister of the Ukrainian People's Republic, in 1918 the teacher introduced compulsory teaching in schools in the Ukrainian language and issued a document “Schools in Ukraine”, which testified to the opening of schools in 39 settlements of Ukraine.

The article highlights the problems and needs of the population for education as a result of the concentration of the Soviet government on the formation of a public education system in the spirit of its socialist ideas by creating new Soviet schools and increasing their number. In November 1918,the Soviet government of Turkestan decided to separate church from state and school from church. Although the existing private old religious schools were not completely banned by this decision, the creation of new Soviet schools and the increase in their number became more and more important. It is clear that this is a sign that the system is completely politicized. The schools were divided into two levels: the first level educational institutions included the first three classes, and the second level consisted of four classes. There was also a high school with three classes. Under the conditions of that time, more primary schools were opened in the country. This article discusses the current problem in the Soviet-era public education system under the Soviet government from 1994 to 1991, as well as the impact of this problem on today's education system

Political science has been taught in universities in modern Russia for thirty years. Today, due to the complication of the political situation in the world and in Russia, some universities are criticized for teaching the wrong thing and in the wrong way. A number of universities, taking advantage of some freedom in the formation of curricula, are trying to remove political science from them. The authors, relying on the experience of teaching at the university, analyzed the content of programs, methodological documents, forms of control of students’ independent work, and showed what is the complexity of teaching this discipline at a university today, what and how it is necessary to improve. The authors conclude that today political science is needed in universities even more than in the 1990s .. when modern Russia was just being created, and the discipline was just being introduced into the public education system. The theoretical part of the course, which now prevails, must be promptly supplemented with a deeper analysis of the political life of modern Russia, which will ensure the training of specialists with relevant competencies in a state university.
