Photopolymer nanowires prepared by two-photon polymerization direct laser writing (TPP-DLW) are the building blocks of many microstructure systems. These nanowires possess viscoelastic characteristics that define their deformations under applied forces when operated in a dynamic regime. A simple mechanical model was previously used to describe the bending recovery motion of deflected nanowire cantilevers in Newtonian liquids. The inverse problem is targeted in this work; the experimental observations are used to determine the nanowire physical characteristics. Most importantly, based on the linear three-parameter solid model, we derive explicit formulas to calculate the viscoelastic material parameters. It is shown that the effective elastic modulus of the studied nanowires is two orders of magnitude lower than measured for the bulk material. Additionally, we report on a notable effect of the surrounding aqueous glucose solution on the elasticity and the intrinsic viscosity of the studied nanowires made of Ormocomp.

The function of the crossword puzzle itself is to develop brain nerves that have a refreshing effect on memory, allowing the brain's work function to return to its optimal state because the brain has become accustomed to continuously learning in a relaxed manner. The design of this study is a pre-experimental research design of the type One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, which is used in pre-experimental research. Because the outcomes of the therapy may be compared to the circumstances before to treatment, the results of the treatment can be known with more accuracy in this research (treatment). The percentages of student learning objectives that were acquired are: low at 6.67%, moderate at 16.67%, high at 40%, and very high at 16.67%. Based on the data gathered, it can be stated that, on the whole, adopting the Crossword Puzzle learning method has a notable effect on students' learning outcomes, as 36.67% of students achieved this level, and 46.67% of students attained this level

Abstract Investigations into the career of Sir Thomas Wentworth, first earl of Strafford, essentially consider three core aspects. First, his parliamentary career and whether his concern for upholding the ancient rights of the subject conflicted with his alleged apostacy when the prospect of office seemed achievable. Second, his deputyship in Ireland, specifically the manner in which he governed the kingdom and the wider implications that this entailed. Finally, his trial and execution, and the validity (or otherwise) of the charges laid against him. As a consequence, these assessments are generally limited to, or confined within, national perspectives, resulting in an assessment of Wentworth's career being too compartmentalized and lacking in overview. This article examines the merits of comparing his political style as the king's representative in northern England and Ireland. It demonstrates how Wentworth's presidency of the north was crucial in establishing prerogative rule, which he later applied with notable effect in Ireland. The parallels are important. In the course of governing two distinct jurisdictions he both encountered and confronted similar obstacles impeding what he called ‘good government’. Viewed from this perspective, Wentworth's accomplishments in the early years of his deputyship were drawn from past experiences where he successfully consolidated royal authority.

Background: Flavonoid glucuronides are a kind of natural products which present a flavone linked directly with one or several glucuronides through O-glycoside bond. They had become of interest in natural product research in the past decades for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacteria activities. In particular, the compound breviscapine has a notable effect on cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. Several other compounds even have antitumor activity. Methods: Through searching the database and reading a large number of documents, we summarized the related findings of flavonoid glucuronides. Results: We summarized 211 naturally occurring flavonoid glucuronides in 119 references with their chemical structures, biological activities, and metabolism. A total of 220 references from 1953 to 2020 were cited in this paper according to literature databases such as CNKI, Weipu, Wanfang data, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, NCBI, PubMed, EmBase, etc. Conclusion : Flavonoid glucuronides are a class of compounds with various chemical structures and a diverse range of biological activities. And they are thought to be potential candidates for drug discovery, but the specific study on their mechanisms is still limited until now. We hope this article can provide references for natural product researchers and draw more attention to flavonoid glucuronides’ biological activities and mechanisms.

Efforts to understand and remedy the rejection of science are impeded by lack of insight into how it varies in degree and in kind around the world. The current work investigates science skepticism in 24 countries ( N = 5,973). Results show that while some countries stand out as generally high or low in skepticism, predictors of science skepticism are relatively similar across countries. One notable effect was consistent across countries though stronger in Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic (WEIRD) nations: General faith in science was predicted by spirituality, suggesting that it, more than religiosity, may be the ‘enemy’ of science acceptance. Climate change skepticism was mainly associated with political conservatism especially in North America. Other findings were observed across WEIRD and non-WEIRD nations: Vaccine skepticism was associated with spirituality and scientific literacy, genetic modification skepticism with scientific literacy, and evolution skepticism with religious orthodoxy. Levels of science skepticism are heterogeneous across countries, but predictors of science skepticism are heterogeneous across domains.

AbstractThe blood flow inside a tube with multi-thromboses is mathematically investigated. The existence of these multiple thromboses restricts the blood flow in this tube and the flow is revamped by using a catheter. This non-Newtonian blood flow problem is modeled for Jeffrey fluid. The energy equation includes a notable effect of viscous dissipation. We have calculated an exact solution for the developed mathematical governing equations. These mathematical equations are solved directly by using Mathematica software. The graphical outcomes are added to discuss the results in detail. The multiple thromboses with increasing heights are evident in streamline graphs. The sinusoidally advancing wave revealed in the wall shear stress graphs consists of crest and trough with varying amplitude. The existence of multi-thrombosis in this tube is the reason for this distinct amplitude of crest and trough. Further, the viscous dissipation effects come out as a core reason for heat production instead of molecular conduction.

Background: COVID-19 pandemic effects are still being elucidated. Stay-at-home orders issued during peak of COVID-19 and social distancing as lockdown measures compounded with COVID-19 concerns have caused significant disruptions in daily life. One notable effect of these variables may be a change in the number of emergency department (ED) visits. This study aims to investigate the effects of COVID-19 on ED visits, and possible reasons for changes. Methods: Retrospective analysis using data for ED visits and procedures performed in the orthopaedics department of GMC Jammu were collected from the record section of GMC Jammu for four months prior and post implementation of lockdown and results were deduced with regards to the comparison in the number of visits, admissions and surgeries done pre and post-lockdown period. Results: The mean number of ED visits/admissions per day for the last four months of available data post lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic was significantly less than the four months prior to COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusions: A number of factors have likely contributed to the substantial decrease in ED visits observed in this study. In light of these findings, it is important to raise patient awareness regarding conditions that require urgent ortho consultation so as to avoid any type of deformity/disability whatsoever.

AbstractAdditive Manufacturing (AM) methods, in the field of production, are increasing rapidly. In particular, the use of Ti alloys has an important role in AM methods. The major disadvantage of AM methods is low surface quality of the manufactured parts. Therefore, parts produced using AM methods need subsequent surface treatment. Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) is one of the nontraditional machining methods, which can be used to improve the surface quality with appropriate parameters. In this study, EDM was investigated to improve the surface quality of sintered Ti–6Al–4V alloy by using 160 different finish parameters. It was observed that Current (I) has a notable effect on surface roughness showing that best surface quality is achieved with low current values, which is under Ra = 2 µm. To estimate the final result of EDM, roughness values obtained from the experiments were modeled by using the Genetic Expression Programming (GEP), and a mathematical relationship between the obtained roughness values and EDM parameters was proposed. As a result of 830,900 iterations, GEP model created can estimate the final surface roughness of the parts with 84% accuracy.

This paper investigates the mechanical cutting effect on the performance of induction motors. Numerical modeling of cutting effect is described in this paper. The approach inverts the degradation of the permeability model for inclusion of it into magnetic vector potential formula by Newton method. The effect of cutting on iron losses is implemented in finite element simulation. The simulation results are compared with experimental results of prototype IE4 efficiency induction motors rated at 2.2 kW. One of them was manufactured with annealed electrical steel lamination to highlight the cutting effect on the performance of the motor. The notable effect of cutting was measured in increased stator current; however, negligible differences were found in measured iron losses. The presented model in this paper follows the measurements.
