Objective: Azelnidipine (AZEL) and Telmisartan (TELM) combination is referred to the sufferers of hypertension. No analytical process has yet been mentioned for the TELM and AZEL combination analysis. We, therefore, have designed for its first time stability demonstrating methodology based on HPLC for analysing TELM and AZEL in the tablets and bulk. Methods: The assay of TELM and AZEL was get done on a 250 mm length C18 column (Supelco, 4.6 mm inner diameter, 5.0 μm particle size), and utilized 0.1M Na2SO4 (pH 3.6) and acetonitrile (55% volume:  45% volume) as the mobile solvents phase, at a stream rate 1.0 ml/min. HPLC recognition of TELM and AZEL was taken by a photodiode array sensor set at 258 nm. For validation of the stability demonstrating methodology proposed in terms of sensitivity, precision, specificity, linearity, device adequacy, robustness and accuracy, ICH directives were followed. Results: Calibration curves of TELM and AZEL were generated in the array of 20-60 µg/ml and 4-12 µg/ml with recovery percentage ranges of 99.62%-101.05% and 97.76%-100.17%, and detection limits of 0.020 µg/ml and 0.009 µg/ml, respectively. TELM and AZEL stability was inspected in the existence of acid, base, light, heat, and oxidation and it was realised to be more stable under oxidation degradation testing conditions employed when compared to acid, alkaline, photo, and heat degradation testing conditions applied. Conclusion: The observations demonstrated that the described HPLC stability demonstrating methodology was suitable for quantitating TELM and AZEL combination in tablets and bulk.

To promote the development of thermal energy storage (TES), the sodium acetate trihydrate (SAT) presents interesting thermal properties. However, this material may suffer from aging throughout thermal cycles. Various solutions were explored in the literature to limit this aging, mainly based on the use of additives such as water. In this study, two samples were prepared. The first one consisted of raw SAT material whereas 3 wt.% of supplementary water has been added to the second one. They were then poured into 350 cm3 bricks, which were placed in an experimental test bench. After 35 cycles between 20 and 70 °C, a drop of about 10% of the latent heat was observed for the first sample. This behavior was like the literature data. For the second sample, the decrease of latent heat was more rapid (about 30%). Contrary to our expectations, the water addition seems not beneficial for the improvement of thermal stability. Interestingly, we noticed that the drop of the latent heat was fully reversible after sample stirring. This degradation might not be related to a thermal destructive mechanism but rather to a global segregation phenomenon. This segregation may be due to the breaking of hydrogen bonding between anhydrous sodium acetate and water, resulting in the separation of the two species.

Astaxanthin-loaded liposomes were prepared by a thin-film ultrasonic method, and the effects of the different membrane surface modifiers chitosan hydrochloride (CH) and lactoferrin (LF) on the physicochemical stability of the liposomes and bioaccessibility of astaxanthin were studied. Based on the negative charge characteristics of egg yolk lecithin, LF and CH with positive charge were assembled on the surface of liposomes by an electrostatic deposition method. The optimal concentrations of modifiers were determined by particle size, zeta potential and encapsulation efficiency. The interaction between the liposomes and the coatings was characterized by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy. The stability of astaxanthin in different systems (suspension and liposomes) was investigated, and its antioxidant capacity and bioaccessibility were determined. The results showed that both membrane surface modifications could interact with liposomes and protect astaxanthin from oxidation or heat degradation and enhance the antioxidant activity of the liposome, therefore membrane surface modification played an important role in stabilizing the lipid bilayer. At the same time, the encapsulated astaxanthin exhibited higher in vitro bioaccessibility than the free astaxanthin. CH and LF modified liposomes can be developed as formulations for encapsulation and delivery of functional ingredients, providing a theoretical basis for the development of new astaxanthin series products.

This paper aims to investigate fire resistance properties of two samples of fireproof bovine leather; both with smooth and perforated brushed surfaces. Apart from flammability and flame spreading, an important property is heat resistance and the development of gaseous products that occur during heat degradation. For the purpose of characterizing those properties, cowhide leather samples were exposed to thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of monitoring gaseous degradation products (TG-IR) during decomposition. Considering the results of fire resistance, it can be concluded that tested samples of smooth bovine leather show satisfactory stability to the influence of flame and heat, while perforated brushed fireproof leather with artificial surface was partially pouched and gathered in the area of direct contact with flame. Both samples show similar behavior during TGA, but differences have been observed in the analysis of gaseous degradation products.
