One of the advantages of using social commerce, especially Instagram, is the display of paid advertisement that are in accordance with consumer preferences or also called personalization. Previous study on the effectiveness of personalized advertising still shows mix result both positive and negative. Based on the limitations of previous research, the focus of this research is to examine and analyze the influence of personalized advertising on the value of advertising which then affects impulse purchases in social commerce and flow experience as moderation. This study using survey method on 157 active Instagram user. The findings in this result show that personalized advertising have positif affect to advertising value and encourage impulse buying. Then flow experience found strengthen effect advertising value on impulse buying. The result indicates when user has fully involved, happy, and excitement when using social media, then receive personalize advertising that match with their preference will encourage impulse buying.

The liquid transport capacity in a fibrous textile is of great crucial in comprehensively assessing the final moisture management. In this work, several materials were prepared based on cotton rovings by regulating some technological parameters such as twist and ply number, and the effects of the above key parameters on vertical wicking behavior of cotton roving-based materials were investigated. To effectively improve the wicking rate of materials, three hydrophilic schemes were introduced. The experimental results indicated that the maximum vertical wicking height was obtained when samples treated with a mixed solution of 1.5% JFC and 3% NaOH. Subsequently, several cotton roving-based materials were fabricated based on the optimized hydrophilic treatment. It was found that, the as-prepared materials exhibit a twist-reduced wicking effect, and a ply number-strengthen effect. Furthermore, the underlying mechanisms in the above two cases were unraveled. Finally, our prepared cotton roving-based materials served as a nutrient absorbing medium were demonstrated. Such work provides certain support for an in-depth understanding of wicking behavior of microporous textile structures.

AbstractInorganic impregnation strengthening of Chinese fir wood was carried out to improve the strength, dimensional stability, flame retardancy, and smoke suppression of Chinese fir wood. Sodium silicate was used as reinforcement, a sulfate and phosphate mixtures were used as a curing agent, and Chinese fir wood was reinforced by the respiratory impregnation method (RIM) that imitating human respiration and vacuum progressive impregnation method (VPIM). The weight percentage gain (WPG), density increase rate, distribution of modifier, bending strength (BS), compressive strength (CS), hardness, and water resistance of unreinforced Chinese fir wood from the VPIM and RIM were compared. It was found that RIM could effectively open the aspirated pits in Chinese fir wood, so its impregnation effect, strengthen effect and dimension stabilization effects were the best. RIM-reinforced Chinese fir wood was filled with silicate both horizontally and vertically. At the same time, the transverse permeability of silicate through aspirated pits was significantly improved. The chemical structure, crystalline structure, flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and thermal stability of VPIM- and RIM-reinforced Chinese fir wood were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), cone calorimeter (CONE), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results indicated that although the crystallinity of RIM-reinforced Chinese fir wood decreased the most, more chemical crosslinking and hydrogen bonding were formed in the wood, and the strengthen effect was still the best. Compared with VPIM-reinforced Chinese fir wood, RIM-reinforced Chinese fir wood had lower heat release rate (HRR), peak-HRR, mean-HRR, total heat release (THR), smoke production rate (SPR), and total smoke production (TSP), higher thermal decomposition temperature and residual rate. It was indicated that RIM-reinforced Chinese fir wood was a better flame retardant, and has a smoke suppression effect, thermal stability, and safety performance in the case of fire.

AA3104 ingots with different Cu content (0.1wt.%, 0.2wt.% and 0.3wt.%) were prepared by DC casting, and then the ingots were processed to 0.26mm sheets with the method of making AA3104 can be body sheet. The AA3104-H19 sheets were aged at 180°C and the aging strengthen effect were found in the 0.2wt.%Cu and 0.3wt.%Cu alloys. Optical micrograph (OM), X-ray diffraction, high resolution transmission electron microscope were used on the sheets after different ageing time. Rod like coherency precipitates with the length about 5-10nm and the thickness about 2-3nm which were parallel to the [111] plane of the matrix was precipitated at peak aging (180°C-2h). According to the result of the thermodynamic phase diagram calculation, the precipitates should be S-Al2CuMg phase, but the structure of the precipitates were different from the precipitates reported in 2XXX alloy.

The squeeze mode of the magnetorheological damper can be used to stabilize precision instruments (balances, optical devices, etc.) to eliminate interference from external vibrational noise, due to the small displacement and large damping offered by the magnetorheological fluid. The squeeze-strengthen effect observed experimentally in the magnetorheological fluid with squeeze mode can lead to the strain stiffening phenomenon, which is similar to that of the magnetorheological elastomer. In this study, a novel model is developed to characterize the dynamics of the squeeze mode magnetorheological damper considering the strain stiffening hysteresis behavior. An experimentally derived differential evolution algorithm is used to identify the model parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed model can accurately describe the dynamics of the squeeze mode magnetorheological damper including the strain stiffening phenomenon. Furthermore, the identified results obtained by the proposed model appear to be better than those obtained by the hyperbolic model.

Individual and combined addition of Ti and Ce on the recycled Al-Si-Cu-Fe-Mn alloy was conducted. The microstructures and tensile properties of these fabricated alloys were investigated. In the case of Ti or Ce which was individually added, the added amount was ranging from 0.03 wt.% to 0.09 wt.%. The combined addition of Ti and Ce was set at the ratios of 1 : 1, 1 : 3, and 3 : 1 with a total amount of 0.12 wt.%. Microstructures and phases of these alloys were investigated by using an optical microscope, X-ray diffraction testing, and SEM coupled with EDS. The morphologies of these alloys were quantified by analyzing the SDAS value, length of secondary phases, and phases’ distribution uniformity. Tensile testing was carried out for understanding the strengthen effect of the modification process. Results show that the addition of Ce was favorable to the strength and % elongation because the coarse needle-like phase and the polyhedral phase were effectively refined. Their SDAS values and distribution factor were remarkably declined with the increase of the Ce level. The Ti addition could also refine the secondary phases and SDAS values. But its effect was not as prominent as the addition of Ce. Combined addition of Ti and Ce elements at the ratio of 1 : 3 resulted in the samples reaching maximum comprehensive tensile properties. In this case, the short needle-like phase was uniformly distributed in the microstructure. Few polyhedral phases could be found in the Al-Si-Cu-Fe-Mn matrix. The strengthening of these fabricated materials was due to the grain refinement for α-Al and modification for coarse secondary phases. In addition, distribution uniformity of secondary phases was also changed by their modification effects.

IntisariDistribusi temporal dan propagasi hujan selama Intensive Observation Period 2016 (IOP 2016, 18 Januari – 16 Februari 2016) di wilayah Jakarta dan sekitarnya dianalisis berdasarkan rataan longitudinal dan latitudinal data Constant Altitude Plan Position Indicator (CAPPI) radar cuaca, pada periode sebelum, saat dan sesudah fase aktif Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa distribusi temporal hujan berkurang secara signifikan pada periode MJO aktif dan sesudah MJO, terutama pada dini hari. Di sisi lain, intensitas hujan semakin meningkat dengan nilai rata-rata di atas 30 mm/jam pada periode setelah MJO. Pada komponen zonal, arah propagasi hujan umumnya dominan dari barat ke timur pada ketiga periode analisis, sedangkan untuk komponen meridional, terdapat variasi yang cukup signifikan pada periode saat dan setelah MJO aktif . Pergerakan hujan dari selatan ke utara pada kedua periode tersebut menunjukkan pengaruh siklus diurnal yang semakin kuat dibandingkan pengaruh monsun, setelah MJO melintasi wilayah barat Benua Maritim Indonesia.   AbstractTemporal distribution and propagation of rainfall during Intensive Observation Period 2016 campaign (IOP 2016, January 18 – February 16, 2016) in Jakarta and surrounding area were investigated based on the longitudinal dan latitudinal averages of Constant Altitude Plan Position Indicator (CAPPI) dataset of weather radar, during the active Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) phase, as well as, pre-MJO and post-MJO periods. The results show a significant decrease of rainfall temporal distribution during the active MJO and post-MJO periods, particularly in the early morning, meanwhile, the rainfall intensity shows significant increase, with the averages of more than 30 mm/hr during the post-MJO period. On the zonal component, the rainfall mostly has eastward propagation for all period while having more significant variations on the meridional component during the active and post-MJO periods. Northward rainfall propagation during the active and post-MJO periods indicates the strengthen effect of diurnal cycle over monsoon after the MJO passed by the western part of Indonesian Maritime Continent.
