The paper aims to be a general analysis material on the principles of modelling sustainable development processes at the regional level, by studying sustainable development of the economy of the regions by supporting regional socio-economic activities, i.e. those processes leading to a sustainable and harmonious development of the region and which do not result in adverse impacts on the human health or the environment. In this context, a regional development plan is proposed that sets out aspects structured on the following dimensions: economy, ecology, social. The plan analyzes all these areas but, what is very important, the adopted measures include elements common to the three spheres, as it is not advisable to prioritize the sectors.

This article intends to briefly reconstitute the history of the introduction of Alexandre Koyré’s work in Brazil. I do not seek to make a general analysis but just to focus on two pathways by means of which his work was introduced in this country. I endeavor to reconstitute the history of the translation of his books into Portuguese and identify the main vectors and intellectual contexts responsible for his works’ acclimatation in Brazil. Those two pathways roughly correspond to two distinct geographies and intellectual cartographies; in Rio de Janeiro, interest in his work stemmed from the introduction of French epistemological thinking in the wake of philosophers’ readings Louis Althusser’s works after the 1960s; in São Paulo, it was linked to university institutionalization of the history of science, starting in the late 1950s, initially promoted by scientists. That history enables an understanding of the major lines and forms that the history of science assumed in Brazil. Furthermore, the study permits the comprehension of the logic of the international circulation of ideas and the history of the translation of human sciences books as forms of cultural appropriation.

The paper considers the problems and the methods of spectral analysis of elastic structural systems. The presented consideration focuses on the translation-invariant spectral formulations. Some periodic representations and the spectral decomposition are derived. In the context of general analysis of translation-invariant systems, the particular problems of structural vibration and stability are solved in analytical form.

This article examines the funerary inscriptions dedicated to children in the Roman period in the Conventus Cluniensis. The rate of infant mortality was high in this period but only a low percentage of inscriptions were dedicated to children. This underrepresentation of infant mortality has been analyzed from different perspectives, including the emotional attachment of the parents or archaeological funerary remains connected to non-adults. The aim of this article is to contextualize the epitaphs dedicated to children within the general analysis of funerary epigraphy, comparing the representation of children with other social groups and the use of Latin epigraphy in the provinces.

We relied on reports of confirmed case incidence and test positivity, along with data on the movements of devices with location-tracking software, to evaluate a novel scheme of three concentric regulatory zones introduced by then New York Governor Cuomo to address an outbreak of COVID-19 in South Brooklyn in the fall of 2020. The regulatory scheme imposed differential controls on access to eating places, schools, houses of worship, large gatherings and other businesses within the three zones, but without restrictions on mobility. Within the central red zone, COVID-19 incidence temporarily declined from 131.2 per 100,000 population during the week ending October 3 to 62.5 per 100,000 by the week ending October 31, but then rebounded to 153.6 per 100,000 by the week ending November 28. Within the intermediate orange and peripheral yellow zones combined, incidence steadily rose from 28.8 per 100,000 during the week ending October 3 to 109.9 per 100,000 by the week ending November 28. Data on device visits to pairs of eating establishments straddling the red-orange boundary confirmed compliance with access controls. More general analysis of device movements showed stable patterns of mobility between and beyond zones unaffected by the Governor's orders. A geospatial regression model of COVID-19 incidence in relation to device movements across zip code tabulation areas identified a cluster of five high-mobility ZCTAs with estimated reproduction number 1.91 (95% confidence interval, 1.27-2.55). In the highly populous area of South Brooklyn, controls on access alone, without restrictions on mobility, were inadequate to halt an advancing COVID-19 outbreak.

Since the creation of the first law course in Brazil, in 1827, professionals have focused their training on litigation. When access to justice became a basic right, lawyers started to represent their clients before the jurisdiction, however, the judicial sphere should be used as a last resort, after extrajudicial attempts to resolve conflicts, whenever possible. In this light, we intend to answer the following research problem: To what extent can the insertion of collaborative practices in legal education educate the future jurist to de-judicialize access to justice? In order to answer the question, it will be used as a deductive approach method, starting from a general analysis to, at the end, arrive at a specific one; as for the method of procedure it will be the bibliographic. The text aims to verify whether including collaborative practices in legal education can educate the future jurist to dejudicialize access to justice.

Objective: To develop a refined methodology for calculating the balance of wheelsets for a freight car fleet, apply it to determine the need for wheels and car axles for the freight car fleet in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Methods: Methods of combinatorial and statistical analyzes of the initial data were employed. Results: Methods for calculating the need for wheels and car axles are proposed, which makes it possible to determine the number of required wheel disks and finished axles for freight cars, depending on the forecast of the volume of freight turnover per year. Practical importance: The presented method for calculating the need for wheelsets can be used for a general analysis and assessment of the state of the production base in terms of shortcomings or excess of wheel disks and finished axles.
