vaginal route delivery of drugs is an integral part of gynaecological diseases treatment including different genesis vulvovaginitis. The aim of this study it to analyze Ukrainian pharmaceutical market assortment of drugs for vaginal use with probiotic medicines determination. The marketing research was conducted with using of analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, content-analysis, statistical, graphical methods. The data of State register of medicines (as of June, 30, 2021), register of wholesale dispensing prices for medicines (as of June, 30, 2021), official web-sites LLC «Morion», «Pharmacy.online», «Compendium.online» were used as objects of the study. As a result, it is determined that as of June 30, 2021 142 medicines for vaginal use are registered on Ukrainian pharmaceutical market with dosage forms, active substances doses, condition for dispensing consideration, 100 brand names, 26 international nonproprietary names, 7 synonymous names. Structural ATC-classification analysis has shown that medicines for vaginal use are included in ATC-groups G «Genito urinary system and sex hormones» and D «Dermatologicals» The assortment macrocontour is formed, it demonstrates that 67,2% of drugs for vaginal use are involved in group G01A «Аntiinfectives and antiseptics, excluding combinations with corticosteroids». More than 80% of drugs for vaginal use are registered as solid dosage forms, and almost half of them as suppositories or pessaries. Almost 65% of medicines are foreign, and 3/4 of them contain only active substance, more than 50% are prescription only medicines. For 44,4% drugs for vaginal use the storage period of 3 years (36 months) is determined. Detailing analysis of medicines with probiotic activity has shown assortment deficiency (only 3 brand names are registered). The liquidity coefficients calculations for this brand manes don’t allow to characterize these drugs as economically affordable. The obtained results of this study inform about the domestic drugs for vaginal use with probiotic activity development relevance, especially in pessaries as dominant dosage form on the pharmaceutical market.

AbstractLactiplantibacillus plantarum, previously named “Lactobacillus plantarum,” is found in a wide variety of environments exhibiting a high level of intraspecies genetic diversity. To investigate the strain diversity, we performed comparative genomic analyses of the 54 complete genome sequences. The results revealed that L. plantarum subsp. plantarum was split into three lineages, A, B and C. Of the genes beneficial for probiotic activity, only those associated with the biosynthesis of plantaricin (Pln), an L. plantarum-specific bacteriocin, were found to be significantly different among the lineages. The genes related to the biosynthesis of plnE/F were conserved throughout the three lineages, whereas the outgroups did not possess any Pln-producing genes. In lineage C, the deepest and ancestral type branch, plnE/F genes, were well conserved. In lineage B, loss of gene function was observed due to mobile elements in the pln loci. In lineage A, most strains were predicted to produce more than one type of Pln by possessing diverse Pln-encoding genes. These results showed the presence of functional diversity arising from the trifurcating evolution in L. plantarum subsp. plantarum and demonstrated that Pln is an indicator for differentiating the three lineages.

African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is a popular fish in the community because it provides a high level of protein at a low cost. The motile aeromonas septicemia (MAS) disease produced by Aeromonas hydrophila (A. hydrophila) infection is one of the things that create difficulties in the cultivation of this fish. Synthetic antibiotics are commonly used in MAS disease control management efforts in fish farming, which have have an influence not only on fish but also on consumers. The application of probiotic Bacillus sp isolated from the digestive tract of catfish as a means of preventing the sickness is one option. Enzymatic tests (lipolytic, amylolytic, cellulolytic, proteolytic activity) and antagonist testing were used to assess the probiotic activity of the Bacillus sp isolates.

Creating probiotic complex starter cultures and increasing the probiotic activity of traditional dairy products is an urgent task today. The active principle of these products is live lactobacilli, in particular, L. Acidophilus, which have a wide range of probiotic activity. The article is devoted to the description of the probiotic culture of Lactobacillus acidophilus. The article describes the probiotic and biochemical properties of Lactobacillus Acidophilus, provides examples of the practical use of this culture in the medical and food industries.

The study is aimed to develop a relevant synbiotic to promote growth performance of the whiteleg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei. For this, four common natural fiber extracts from Arcera banana, Siamese banana, yellow sweet potato, and white sweet potato were screened for supporting the growth of Lactobacillus sp. which was isolated from whiteleg shrimp intestines with probiotic activity, prebiotic score, and ability to induce bacterial enzyme activities of protease, leu-aminopeptidase, and a-amylase. Results showed that Lactobacillus sp. was able to utilize all extracts from banana and sweet potato as the sole carbon sources. At 24 hours of culture, the growth of Lactobacillus sp. was highest after adding the extract from white sweet potato as the sole carbon source. Considering pathogenic bacteria, including Vibrio parahaemolyticus, white sweet potato extract had the highest prebiotic score with a mean of 0.25 as compared with those of V. harveyi with a mean of 0.16. White sweet potato extract induced the highest activities of protease. These results indicated that white sweet potato extract was more suitable for combining with Lactobacillus sp. as a synbiotic for shrimp culture.

Abstract Background: Food contamination with aflatoxin is one of the most important concerns of health professionals. One of the best ways to reduce aflatoxin content in food is to use probiotics. Therefore, this study was performed to isolate Bifidobacterium from the chick intestine and its probiotic activities and also its application with Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) to reduce aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) toxin in the medium were investigated. Results: Samples were isolated from the chicken intestine. Biochemical and molecular evaluations indicated isolation of Bifidobacterium bifidum strain from chicken intestine. To measure probiotic activities, pH, bile, and salt tolerance tests were used. The selected B. bifidum had good probiotic activity. Then, the antimicrobial activity of isolate against gastrointestinal pathogens and the antibiotic susceptibility test were done. The selected strain showed antimicrobial activities on S. enterica, E. coli, and P. vulgaricus and was found to be resistant against Amikacin, Ampicillin, Erythromycin, and Ceftazidine antibiotics. Then, the effect of selected isolate and PVP on reducing AFB1 in the medium was studied using ELISA and HPLC. The selected strain showed the ability to reduce the concentration of AFB1 in the medium (50% reduction) and when used in combination with PVP showed the synergistic effects in reducing the concentration of AFB1 from the medium (up to 90%).Conclusion: In conclusion, it was found that selected B. bifidum strain together with PVP could have synergistic effects in reducing AFB1 toxin in medium up to 90%.

Intensive shrimp culture has encountered many problems, such as declining water quality through disease caused by pathogenic microbes, which affected mortality. This study aimed to determine any potential probiotic from Bacillus sp. collected from mangrove in East Lampung, which could be used to improve the cultured shrimps' proteolytic and probiotic activity. This is a descriptive research with sampling and data collection of bacteria from many samples of mangrove. Result shows 128 isolates Bacillus from which then it has arrived at five potential probiotic Bacillus sp. The study five Bacillus sp. has been isolated with potential properties for probiotic (KPP212, IP121, UJ131, UJ132, SB141). Each isolate has characteristics with proteolytic property, growth in a wide range of pH 4–10 and osmotic stress (0–6% NaCl), non-pathogenic, ability for glucose fermentation, non-motile, and has negative catalase activity. The five potential Bacillus sp. can be used as probiotics for shrimp farming.
