This paper reviews the primary scientific articles applicable to the logistics industry, and specifically those relating to cross-border e-commerce in China. The authors focused on reviewing the articles about the current status of cross-border e-commerce in China and the factors affecting its development, with the aim of highlighting literature gaps. The authors used a systematic literature review (SLR) to identify, gather, and analyze 60 primary papers selected from international peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings between 2001 and 2020. Chinese cross-border e-commerce has experienced a trend of steady progress, although several challenges remain. These challenges include, but are not limited to, low custom clearance efficiency, complex monitoring and supervision, tax rebate settlement challenges, payment risks, insufficient talent within the Chinese industry, and the lack of scientific management guidelines. The significant contributions of this paper include critical highlights of the current gaps and future research themes.

In essence, the community with a shared future for mankind is a community of values, which has entered the stage of strategic implementation. The Lancang Mekong River Basin countries share the same river water, which has already bred the community concept of "relatives, neighbors and friends", and is the priority area of "building a community with a shared future for mankind". As an important channel to expand international cooperation space, the sports field should constantly promote practical cooperation and help the construction of "Lancang Mekong community of common destiny". Based on the Lancang Mekong cooperation mechanism and regional characteristics, this paper holds the connection and maintenance functions of "easy" and "regular" contained in sports, and puts forward the following ideas: make a top-level design of policies, actively incorporate into the policy system of regional cooperation mechanism; connect with national strategies, declare various special funds to provide financial support; deepen sports tourism cooperation and promote the Lancang Mekong nationality Traditional sports games and cultural festivals create the brand of Lancang Mekong events, enhance the consciousness of Lancang Mekong, and form the Lancang Mekong sports culture; play the role of "non-state actors" such as overseas Chinese, industry associations and Universities, expand the "individual" interaction field, and provide internal driving force for the construction of "Lancang Mekong Community of Shared future".

A large number of exports of cheap industrial products completed the initial accumulation of capital in China, but this manufacturing industry, which has not mastered the basic technologies, is very fragile. With the development of science and technology, the economy of various countries is gradually globalizing. China is currently the second largest economy in the world, and due to its large population, this also makes China a huge sales market, but due to the large amount of excess capacity, China’s excess industrial market cannot be digested by its own country. In addition to the modernization of China’s manufacturing industry, it is inevitable that Chinese industry will simultaneously enter the world market. China’s manufacturing industry will face difficulties, but at the same time it has its own unique advantages.

AbstractThe Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and China's state-led model for economic globalization more generally, have attracted controversy: Are state-led overseas investment and lending driven by strategic motives or market rationale? How have the recipient economies reacted to the influx of Chinese capital? This special issue sheds light on these questions by first outlining the fragmented state system driving the BRI, a system featuring both Beijing's strategic logic at the top and market considerations in policy implementation. The role of the state is unpacked further in China's globalizing coal industry and in the growth of Chinese industry export to BRI countries. Finally, the issue explores the mechanisms behind public backlash and political pushback facing China in Zambia and Australia. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to shift China's relationship with the world, this special issue contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the modus operandi of Chinese capital going global.

The setting of a CO2 emission peak target (CEPT) will have a profound impact on Chinese industry. An objective assessment of this impact is of great significance, both for understanding/applying the forcing mechanism of CEPT, and for promoting the optimization of China’s industrial structure and the low-carbon transformation of Chinese industry at a lower cost. Based on analysis of the internal logic and operation of the forcing mechanism of CEPT, we employed the STIRPAT model. This enabled us to predict the peak path of China’s CO2 emissions, select the path values that would achieve the CEPT with the year 2030 as the constraint condition, construct a multi-objective and multi-constraint input/output optimization model, employ the genetic algorithm to solve the model, and explore the industrial structure optimization and low-carbon transformation of Chinese industry. The results showed that the setting of CEPT will have a significant suppression effect on high-carbon emission industries and a strong boosting effect on low-carbon emission industries. The intensity of the effect is positively correlated with the target intensity of the CO2 emissions peak. Under the effect of the forcing mechanism of CEPT, Chinese industry can realize a low-carbon transition and the industrial structure can realize optimization. The CEPT is in line with sustainable development goals, but the setting of CEPT may risk causing excessive shrinkage of basic industries—which should be prevented.

China has attracted the attention of the world owing its significant economic achievements, which are supported significantly by its booming industry. However, the issues of energy and pollutants have severely challenged the sustainability of the industry. The efficiency measurement is the premise intended to realize sustainability within the Chinese industry. Because the industry is a complex production system, there exists uncertainties and fuzziness regarding its inputs and outputs. This study proposes the application of an interval to describe these fuzzy data and employ the Enhanced Russell Measure to assess the performance of the Chinese industry, accounting for undesirable output such as pollution. In addition, for the ranking between interval efficiencies, a novel ranking approach based on the holistic acceptability of a possibility degree is proposed. The proposed method provides advice and guidance for decision makers to make appropriate and effective policies to balance industrial development and environmental protection in spite of uncertain and fuzzy data.

Socio-cultural ties between Ukraine and China began long before Ukraine's independence and long before the establishment of diplomatic relations between the PRC and Ukraine in 1992.The first Ukrainians came to the territory of the Qing Empireas part of the Russian Spiritual Mission back in the 18th century. Then, during the struggle against the Japanese invaders, Ukrainians demonstrated courage and bravery in battle and became national heroes of China. In the heyday of Chinese-Soviet relations, a large number of students and trainees were admitted to Ukrainian universities and enterprises, which gave an impetus both to the development of Chinese industry and agriculture and to the formation of science and education in the PRC. The current state of Ukrainian-Chinese relations is characterized by a sufficient degree of stability and development in the sphere of education, science and tourism. However, there remain a number of problems and contradictions that do not allow to say that social and cultural relations between the two countries are effective. Among the major problems are the following: the passivity of existing structures and organizations, the low level of support for the grassroots initiative on the part of authorities, the lack of a balanced and purposeful policy of the Ukrainian government in relation to solving the complex and controversial issues of Ukrainian-Chinese relations.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, an important software enabler of intelligent manufacturing, are the core of the “Made in China 2025” initiative to comprehensively upgrade the Chinese industry. However, ERP is notoriously difficult to adopt. In this chapter, the author discusses the Chinese ERP adoption landscape and explores important issues facing organizations adopting ERP. The chapter presents the findings of a large-scale survey of Chinese management by identifying and overcoming major barriers to further success in ERP development. The chapter highlights the influence of organizational culture, education, and training on future success. The challenge will be to provide education and training that addresses both culturally specific organizational issues and technical challenges. Providers with specific cultural understanding, including vendors and universities in Oceania and Asia, will benefit from this study.
